- 8BitDo Micro is their latest bluetooth controller compatible with the Nintendo Switch. Following up the Zero 2, this has more buttons and functionality. But... it has some big issues. Check out what they are in this review.

EDIT: You can remap the analogue stick/D-pad by pressing a combo of buttons.
Check out ua-cam.com/users/abitmorejordan for more me, not always Switch related.
Any way you can provide a link to that specific video?? Prbly not huh 🙄🙄
You can set what the d-pad is doing via button combos that need to be held down for a few seconds (similar to other 8bitdo pads which lack analog sticks):
-Minus button + D-pad up = D-pad control
-Minus button + D-pad left = Left stick control
-Minus button + D-pad right = Right stick control
How can you make a whole youtube video without even checking out the manual 🤦🏻♂️
it's in chinese cut him some slack lol@@soundsonline796
@@soundsonline796 you'd be surprised
@@soundsonline796I just got one and this isn’t in the manual!
I keep mine on my keychain and take it with me to play retroarch on my phone. I personally think it's awesome
The joke about problems connecting got me good. Solid video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the honest review!
There's a button combo for changing the dpad between emulating an analog stick or a dpad.
Looking at the manual would have revealed this
Im glad Someone reviewed this controller. Ive been wondering about it performance since is SO tiny.
So the D pad is not as Nice as on the Lite controller?
I think the pressure thing is their attempt to make the buttons feel more reactive compared to the Zero 2, which this seems to have replaced. But if you ask me, they should have just made the thing use all Dome Switches, which have a clicky response (IDK if the Micro has them but on the Zero they were the start/select buttons)
Looks cute. I want it!
I'll use it as a keychain or something. Because of how cute it looks. 😅
does this work for snes9x emulator for pc i need a small controller for my 5 year old daughter as she likes playing zelda a lin to the past. her hands are too small for sness classic size controller
Those SNES style controllers they make are the ones I want the most.
I have one, it wouldn't sync with my Switch. I use it paired to my PC for emulator games now. I should probably check again if it will pair up with the Switch, there are firmware updates quite frequently that mess with compatibility for better or worse.
@@redlion145 Good to know so I can take that into consideration for myself if I choose to purchase this.
I'd buy this if it had two analogue sticks.
Nice one Jordan! I like them trying, it’s just too small to be functional really
What is the name game of the 5:35 ?
Man hands hurt just watching this video... Excellent review though!
I look forward to when they release the Nano that's even smaller.
What game are you playing at 2:39? I have a need for that in my collection
Rhapsody II
I'm still waiting for a twin stick travel model that uses NDS-style circle pads.
This is a cute toy with some functionally.
Well, it’s no 8bitdo SN 30 pro ,+,2, ultimate, LITE one or two, and it’s definitely nothing like the zero 2, but it has to be a step up from that? Of course, I could be wrong after all the pro two and the ultimate those with the pinnacles, especially the ultimate with hall effect joysticks.
I used the original zero, the one wirh the two dpads, and the follow up (8bitdo lite 2) and I come to realize that aside from joycon drift; the joycons are actually very good in single side mode with the strap. Heck, the analog sticks are even better than the coveted neo geo clicky stick controller. I tried playing street fighter ganes with it; and the moves were hard to pull off. Aside from the clicky noises, it really wasn't nearly as good as peoole boasted. At least the joycons are very responsive and dare I say; AS good/responsive as a dpad.
I have the 8BitDo Pro2, it is a great controller but I have seen the occasional connection issue; also, in more intense situations it seems to warp or bend and lose battery connection.
Edit: grammar
Hold up + select for dpad
This definitely NOT a "daily driver" but if your traveling or mobile and must pack light , then this could be essential
What's the game show after Kirby 64?
It's Rhapsody 2. It's releasing in just over a week from now.
I had the same connectivity problem with the 2 8bitdo's I had. That and tge frequent firmware updates turned me off from them. A controller should always *work* immediately and consistently.
I agree 100%. The controllers feel great, but there is always a problem when trying to connect the 3 out of the 4 I own which becomes a frustrating hassle when trying to play w friends or family. I stopped buying their stuff strictly because this reason
try changing the dpad function
Micro Bluetooth Gamepad FAQ
What devices can the gamepad be used with in Keyboard mode?
Why doesn’t the D-pad work when connected to the device?
To activate the D-pad functions, press and hold either one of the button combos for 5 seconds based on your preference:
* Minus button + D-pad up = D-pad control
* Minus button + D-pad left = Left stick control
* Minus button + D-pad right = Right stick control

The SN30Pro is awesome for portable. Why would any one need this???
For all its limitations, the Zero 2 did its thing well.
they should have made the buttons more sensitive and replaced the d-pad with a tiny thumbstick.
it got too many issues so shouldn't been released like that.
What game is being played at 2:58 ?
Rhapsody II
Didn't they make this micro controller years ago?
Yeah the zero. It was missing the trigger buttons
2:38 name of the game ?
classic 8bitdo
What is the name of the game at 2:34?
Rhapsody II, it's releasing in a couple of weeks.
@@SwitchWatchTx had the same question😅
@@SwitchWatchto be exact 9 days away.
@@SwitchWatchthank you! Looks amazing, looking forward to it!
Going 2 handed on a controller the size of a joycon almost lol
I do kind of like my joycons but 2 handed with that? hmm
Zero 2 can’t pair with pocket analogue at all
Like the design but looks need of improvement
I thought the company said it's pronounced like 'dew' and does not rhyme with Nintendo
The inputs aren't that good? That's not good. 🙁
Well I guess it could be good for games like the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary, Mana Collection or any of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters.
Of course it’s bad we should try to de evolve our modern controllers rather evolve them and think of new ways to enhance the experience for people with all kinds of hand sizes 😂
Big false diagonals!! A lot 😭
they are so cute - but, yes analog/digital functionality is a problem
What is this? A controller for ants?
Why not turn joy-con sideways... I don't get it
The controller has to be at least... three times bigger than this!
Great info - was considering getting for my niece who is 6, but sounds like she’s better off with the joycon 😒
I can't wait for the Scooby Doo one, 8 Bit Scooby Doo edition. Also, what the point of this thing?😄😄😄
Turn a joy con sideways.... and it's smaller.... so why did they make this.
I get your point but it does have more buttons than a sideways joy con. And it’s also about half the size still.
I bought an 8bitdo corded controller for xbox... left stick absolutely destroyed within 4 months. I wont buy from them again.
damn, think i'll pass too
