Just had a proper intense 14 hours rescuing my PC and data. Just collapsed into bed and found the perfect antidote to all that concentration and effort. Justin's concentration and effort. Perfect way to unwind.

I watched the aussie opal hunters spin off earlier today in England...It showed a collection of opals worth around 33 million dollars... Some really amazing stones...But I couldn't help thinking that if you had polished and shaped them ,then they would have been worth a whole lot more than that...

It is amazing watching how fast you fly through those Opals. You make it look so easy. Such lovely stones.

Justin, that little gem crystal at the 25 mark was a CRACKA! I saw every color of the rainbow in that one. Thank you so much for sharing these magical stones with us. I never knew stuff like this would interest me, and now, thanks to you, I guarantee I'd score an A if someone gave me a test on opal.

You should make a video about greasing your bearing, but do it Gold Rush style where you exclaim that it could ruin your entire year, then you play intense music while you take it apart. And then you can tell us how much opal you lost at the end from having your wheel down and how much more you'll make now that it's back up.

YES!!! The last live with the Pea nobbies was awesome. It made me smile when you said you would like some feedback from the people that bought those rough parcels. You are excited for them and that makes you an AWESOME human. I don't care how long your show is...the longer the better. Black Opal Direct is always the first notification I open. LOVE YOU ALL

I love those floating blue blobs! I would want them in a crystal opal if I could ever have one...which at my age I don't see happening! lol. I know you wouldn't ever sell an imperfect gem, but I would buy one if it was as pretty as the first stone you cut! I loved, loved that last parcel live cut! wow! That eye was impressive! That should be a ring for you Justin. Keep an eye on you! lol. Dark opals are probably my least fav. I hope to see this batch polished up soon. That 2nd one you did seemed to have a bit of cloud on one side, but I loved the colors in it. Why on earth would you facet an opal? As a rock hound at heart, I think I would have loved to been an opal cutter. Or even a gem cutter. Be more pleasant than the nursing field! lol Retired now, but I've nothing left healthwise to do much but watch others do fun things now. so thank you Justin for making my night! I have not been well lately, so I have been able to watch several shows I missed...including tonight's live. I still talk to you even when I can't comment! lol xo to all!

Some of the "beaten by sand" pieces have glorious color. I'm wondering if these could be sold by another business. Granddaughter LOVES opal; small "imperfect" pieces can be painted with gold leaf on the sandy spots, etc., for very cool but less costly jewelry. This could be a small business for an opal cutter who is learning the craft.

My horror, people who facet opals have a special place in Opal hell, it's like when you're sitting there enjoying your tea listening to your favorite track and then someone starts listening to something else on the phone next to you, it's like body-painting over tattoos.

Cutting a good vein of color out of Jadeite is very similar to cutting a color bar in Opal. Another stone where you can face the same challenges as Opal is Mexican Fire Agate. Just my 2 cents, Opal Ole

    Hey Justin👍
    Few questions:
Why is it called cutting when you’re grinding/sanding the stones?
Why is it that 3000 grid businesses sell less? (I found that an interesting comment and the way you said it)
What is the most valuable stone you ever found?? (Not one that you saw beforehand that it was gonna be valuable and payed for it, but a relatively cheap stone that turned out to be an amazingly valuable stone)
    - ivo from the Netherlands, whos living in Northern Sweden, but Oz will always be nr1 for him, so if you ever hire let me know, i might move😂 and the fishing would be one of the top 5 reasons of doing so

Hello Justin , seeing some of your stones today , considering if the colors and patterns the “ same “ which would be worth more ? A free form shape or the cabochon shape that most opals end up being ? I hope I got my point across as when I proofed the question something didn’t look right with the way I phrased it .
