Hello everyone! I've started a second channel and I'd love it if you could check out my new video "I learned to Forge Steel"! I had so much fun making it. ua-cam.com/video/KVlqmS_AFMs/v-deo.html
R.I.P, Charles Bradley. One of the most emotional singers I've heard.
If you want someone even more emotional you should check out Dir En Grey, Kyo is such an amazing vocalist and very expressive. I'd recommend the song "Ware, yami tote..."
you haven't heard many i see...............
May he Rest In Peace 🙏🏿
Jeff Buckley
@@thanosdarkseid8695 wtf kinda statement is that
I got a big ol' hug from Charles Bradley in Philly. At the end of his show he came out into the crowd and generously distributed hugs to anybody who wanted one. It was amazing.
I have ZERO PROBLEM with believing this.
Charles was more than a human being. He was.....beautiful.
This guy was so blessed
Roger Mars wish I could have seen him
You're a lucky man
Roger Mars was good to have you guys just got home and we are still going on a date with you and you can come home tonight or you grab me some food 🥘 I have been to this for two days now I’m just retired now and I’m still not sure 🤔 I know he said I don’t need you and I just got a text and I just saw the message and I’ll call ya back in the office
I don’t wanna lose my mama bro, idk what I’d without her 💔😭
Lost my mom a year ago and regret not being able to see her one more alive due to her living on another state. I cant explain it but it's a pain that stays with you. My point is hug her everyday and let her know how much you love her.
Listen to this song, and cry a lot.
You better hug her every chance you get bro I don't wanna lose my mom either but one day death it's gonna come for us all gotta have the 3 Ls bro with you as much as you can LOVE live & laugh
I lost my mom 16 years ago. It never stops hurting.
I was raised by my grandparents on my mom's side.
Within 5 years I lost both of them, and my mom too. This last year has really been rough, because now I'm in a situation that I can't confirm anything from my past. I'm the only one left.
And since I can't have kids, my name dies with me.
Charles Bradley was such a wonderful guy.
Sad that he died so soon after he found the success he deserves.
I had the rare priveledge of seeing him live in Baltimore, Maryland not too long before he passed. After the incredible show, he proceeded to leave the stage and hug every member of the crowd covered in sweat, tears, and emotion. I've never felt a performance like that, and never will again.
I'm a HARD CORE Black Sabbath fan,and I ball like a BABY,when this man sings this song!!! OMG! Ozzy should be proud!
“Perfectly human”, I like that
WHAT A VOICE!! "The screaming eagle of soul" Sadly underappreciated when he was alive. RIP
Thank you @bethroars for doing this. And thank you Charles Bradley for giving the world something it needed. Rest in peace
His cover of nirvana stay is amazing too. He was an epic tallent and deserved even more success.
I lost my mom when I first found this song and I have a hard time not tearing up every time I hear it. Its amazing how much music hits your soul
❤️
She paused this at 2:34 her time, to say something, and I already had tears streaming down my face.
I heard this song years back and it was so amazing to hear.I recently lost my grandma and it has completely changed it for me to every time I hear it I cry a bit but I’ll never stop listening to it rip Charles thank you for the amazing sounds.
So much soul on this... I've cried here too o/
Don't be afraid to show your emotions, it's beautiful. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it's what makes us human.
Yeah can we do it with a smile thought? To show some short intelligence :']
He moves me, grips me and shreds me to pieces. What an artist!
The screaming eagle of soul, what a performance!
I saw him for the first time at jazz fest and was blown away. Rip Charles.
If a heart breaking had a sound, it is that scream. That's blues vocals done right. You can almost hear his tears and wailing in the vocal delivery.
Thank you for reacting to such a beautiful cover. R.I.P Charles Bradley.
Do a reaction on Etta James “I’d rather go blind” live at Montreaux 1975, pretty please 🙏🏼😊
2nded
That is an amazing piece of singing at Montreux!, she’s singing without a mic but still blasting it out!.... truly stunning.
And that boys and girls is a real singer. No autotune, no equalizers none of that sh#t. Gotta love that.
It’s really cool you did this video/song. Ever since hearing this, it’s become quite possibly my favorite cover of a Sabbath song.
What you talk about in this video, about his singing, is the reason we call R & B “Soul” Music here in the States. The way these guys can elicit an emotion from people, hearing the pain in their voice, you can’t help but feel and understand what they’re singing about.
One of my absolute favorite performances. This version is dripping in soul, he barely opens his eyes through the entire song.
and you cant help but feel like hes not doing the visceral scream for the song, he needs to do it like a cathartic release.
The documentary about Mr. Bradley can be found on Amazon. It's called Charles Bradley: Soul of America.
I can't help but get tears, when I listen to this performance.
Love you, Charles! I was lucky enough to see the Black Swan live before he passed. So grateful for that experience.
Had the pleasure of seeing Charles Bradley live in 2015. Became an instant fan. Sadly he past in 2017, was going to see him again in L.A. but it was cancelled due to sickness. R.I.P. to an Amazing artist.
Now I know what James Brown covering a Black Sabbath song sounds like... awesome!!!
I love ur emotions in the video. It shows like u said u feel his soul
I absolutely love this song, so glad to see your reaction! Great video, as always.
He was doing James Brown for so long and screaming like Brown, it changed his voice.
LP is another artist that will make you tear up. Cheers
Beth, you are an absolute star! Even in your professional capacity you are feeling the emotional connection of this song. Love watching vids even when I don't really enjoy the band/singer being assessed (not the case here).
I Love The REALNESS Here. Big Mouth On Netflix Brought Me Here
Shout Out To Big Mouth Because Had It Not Been For That Show My Ears Wouldn't Be Blessed. Im Sad I Never Knew About Him. R.I.P Charles ❤❤
Charles Bradley's version of this song became the theme song for Big Mouth, an adult oriented animated comedy about tweens going through puberty.
Yes, the studio version with organ and brass. It's wonderful.
Anyone who only began to experience this mans beauty before his passing was very lucky. All who just recently discovered this gem after his death....you are still lucky.
If you are listening to him....nothing can take away from that mans feeling and honesty.
When you said you were about to get emotional I was already in a downpour. So powerful. I grew up with Black Sabbath and this gentleman definitely did them proud . Great review 🇨🇦
This rendition makes me emotional every time
Mr. Bradley was a beautiful, truly soulful voice..Cheers Beth...
Such a great singer, but this cover is just moving like nothing else before (and I already love the original version). Absolutely perfect!
great version of a great sabbath song, and Beth is absolutely adorable in her response to his emotional singing...
Charles Bradley is amazing. May he sing happier songs amongst the Gods. RIP Mr. Bradley.
this cover blew me away years ago, made me cry as well.
Am I the only one who doesn't actually care what other people have to say about the music I like, but who watches these videos anyway because I'm in love with Beth and she likes all of my music?
The screams are a release... 🥺❤️
Beth, you are the best! Same reaction to Mr Bradley’s performance.
Found you by falling through a rabbit hole while listening to Charles Bradley vids. You're lovely, and I like you.
You don't need a vocal coach if you can tap into a feeling of the song. No one ever needs to sing "perfectly" when they can just express the song so everyone feels how you see it
That curious like a cat try of screaming was so random and funny and cute, I laughed as hard as you tried to scream.
So glad you did this. And thank you for suggesting it
He spent most of his time as a james brown impersonator, mayhe thats why he had the scream down :) amazing
Idk what UA-cam algorithm is doing but it’s always good to hear Charles especially this song. Kinda weird to see her attempt to sing like him or sound like him.
Such a powerful performance
Great Fucking Cover! It always gives me goosebumps!
Great version of a great song. So raw.
Soul & Blues the father of modern music.
Great analysis, thanks. You don't mention that Charles uses the soulful guitar playing by Ben as a base camp to launch his delivery forward to the summit. He is clearly absorbing the guitar into his delivery. RIP Charles.
Some times imperfection is perfection
The Screaming Eagle Of Soul. It is a shame that Charles didn't see success until his final years, but I thank Daptone for making his voice heard.
Love your reaction to this!
This and Otis Reddings cover of Sam Cookes "A Change Is Gonna Come" and Jeff Buckleys cover of "Hallelujah" are the only covers I care for.
Besides getting the title, the word, "changes" wrong every time it is great. Love both. I think the intro is not the best, because BS is, at least early, Bluesy, and well, "Black." It slows down the original live session.
I think, however, it outdoes BS's much more. I hear an accent but maybe it is just his NY area and people he lived near growing up. It's a fav of mine, most soulful one, or up there.
RIP.
The ending you say, "Brave" and "bear." Forgive me, and this is a huge compliment, it reminds me of Merida (the red hair emoji comes up for, "Merida.") ♥️
2:45 this tone is called Pain
A lot of artists go thru it just like us
This is still my favorite cover of all time.
Shame you don't hear vocals like this in popular music anymore. Vocalists now seem to try replicating soul without putting any real soul in it. However, thankfully, there are still artists who put real soul into their voice and music. You just gotta look for them.
nothing in this world can consume my stamina like this song...
I love the studio version of this cover
I think we're all crying.
His voice was legit and lived in. He was homeless at one point in his life.
Hello Beth ...suggestion>> LP( female singer ) song > Lost On You or Girls gone Wild ...and yes that is her really doing the whistles, she can whistle better than me
I agree with the moments of rasp for some people very keen observation
Thank you, Beth.
This is the best Sabbath cover period. Would be cool to see you react to Ozzys voice as well
That would bring me joy. Really unique voice and would love to hear her break it down
Done! :) ua-cam.com/video/A02dRqGc7tA/v-deo.html
The live performance is way better then the studio version. In my opinion
Still one of the greatest genre swap covers I've ever heard.
Would love to see Alice & Chains Unplugged "Rooster" reaction!!
You are the best!
RIP Charles.
I think you should do Hurt by Nine inch nails. Their live version is amazing
He died 2 years ago this month. RIP Charles.
I miss him so much.
Please do Given Up by Linkin Park live at the AOL Session. Such a performance. RIP Chester
Here is my reaction to Linkin Park: ua-cam.com/video/89UvKvNeVRI/v-deo.html
That lovely glaswegian accent
Charles Bradley, ladies and gentlemen... no more. RiP
If you want to hear a perfecr control of the voice, you have to hear this great singer from the mexican music with this song
Pedro Infante- El jacalito
Do me a favor everyone give your mom a hug. A lot of us can't...
Damn, I cried
I tear up whenever I start to hear this live version, losing a mom is hard.
This is one of my favorite performances ever. When he whimpers "Mama", it always rips my heart right in half.
He says it at the same points I say mama...
I only liked it to get to 200
😢😪😭
Let this be a lesson: Black Sabbath is music for everyone.
Hey! Here is my reaction to Black Sabbath: ua-cam.com/video/A02dRqGc7tA/v-deo.html
Its BLUES! just sped up and heavier. Just. Listened to thier 1st album for the 1st time a few years ago. Now I see where rock came from...
@@rodneynoble6046 Metal, where metal came from, rock is the general name, wich is not all influenced by bleus.
@@MrShadowofthewind false
@@ericb4898 Whatever.
At least he is reunited with his mother now. A sad loss for the world of music, but in a way, almost a relief on his behalf.
And his brother.............
Unfortunately he’s actually just rotting in the ground. There is no afterlife
He could sing VCR instructions and I’d cry.
"BEEEEEE KIND, AND ALWAYS, REEEWIIINNNNNNDDDDDD, mama......" XD
bet
I think he would find this funny if he was still here.
Hahahaha
They call it soul music for a reason.
You get to see the singer's.
And it rips your's apart.
Amazingly apt description. It’s so true. I lost my sister years ago, she was 34 and it was liver failure from drinking. I never really got to mourn or get my emotions out, I find myself face to face with those emotions as I hear this song. Thank you Charles. RIP
Steven D. Bumgarner take your time for that :)
Man, I came into this "TOTALLY ANGRY".....never heard of this guy before and you're going to react to one of the most rarest, emotional, coveted Sabbath songs there is....(by someone doing a cover????)
I was like...."Are you fu**ing kidding me"????
And, then I listened to it....
And, I'm still wiping the tears away......
Once again, I am reminded how narrowmindedness can be destructive.....
I had heard Bradley but when this cover was released I had the wtf reaction before listening. The song spoke to him so he made it his.
Dude check out Son House John The Revelator
Sometimes people make other peoples songs theirs. Such as Johnny Cash did with Nine Inch Nails song Hurt.
@@jjack5118 That!
@@jjack5118 And his interpretation of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. (Actually almost all Cash's reinterpretations of pop songs he recorded in that 90s recording series.)
I dont need a vocal coach to tell me Charles was a good singer haha
Q truth
Some people do...
Great singer
And yet here you are.
@@normie2716 well we dont mind a vocal coach calling him a good singer though lol
I'm a nearly 50 year old man who grew up listening to this song and I always felt it. Growing up and losing people thought life changes (no pun intended) how thing "hit" you. I haven't listened to this in years because I lost my girlfriend to a brain hemorrhage in 2003. This is the first time I have in ages and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Cried. Literally sobbed at this man's version of the song. It felt good to cry honestly. I miss her still. Thanks for posting this Beth. I didn't realize how much healing I still need to do. Love your channel. Love your reactions and your insight. And lastly... I love and miss you Theresa. My beautiful angel. ❤️
Thank you for your beautiful message. xxxxx
Sorry for your loss, brother. ✌
@@thebandsoul7836 Thank you man.
You got me crying again Brother damn I knew the song beforehand but still I broke down. Made my Think of my Mother she died when I was 18 five years ago. Changes indeed. Sharing sometimes is healing, Music definetly is, I whish you all the best and that your wounds will heal.
@@FxBrour Thanks buddy. I appreciate that. I don't normally share like that but that day it just came out. And music definitely is a healer. I don't know where I'd be without it. And my condolences to you for the loss of your mom. I can't imagine. I'm lucky enough to still have my mother here. But you'll be ok man. Don't be afraid to cry. Don't be afraid to share with others when you hit a rough spot. Lean on your friends/family. They love you and will understand and help you through it. Ok? Thanks again and take care of yourself.👍
He has been through so much ! He was living homeless for a long time being a James brown impersonator ! Only when he was 60 did he ever release a single . He died not shortly after . One of my favorite artists and a gem . My favorite of his and one of my favorite songs of all time is “heartaches and pain “.
man I love that song
He was also the singing voice for Krampus on American Dad.
That's where I discovered him.
An amazing krampus
AHHHH AHHH IM GONNA PUNISH YOU. YOU AINT EXPERIENCED ALL THAT IVE BEEN THROUGH
THAT DAMN DENNIS
