Its not the story its the level of gore and blood that is shocking. The show is trying to be edgy by showing all that. The story should be strong enough to be shocking not the level of gore in it.

I totally agree with you Jaby. Most Indians now a days have a habit of glorifying violence and that's why shows like Mirzapur and Patal lok are such huge hits... and this trend is really disgusting. In fact, Pataal Lok still has a balance and includes a little bit of social commentary on the evils existing in Indian society. But Mirzapur is out and out gory and glorifies violence....it is sad that Indian youth are loving it instead of rejecting this brainless violence.... I cant stand this series... I watched it once and that itself was a torture!! But I guess I ll have to watch the second season for the stories closure... hope it does end with season 2.

@@kaustubhsomani7965 The thing is everyone tries to be George R R Martin, but isn't successful at it. And this time they were not successful. Killing off so many main characters leaves a hole in your audience which you better be able to fill and soon. The show taking so long creates another issue of time spent away from characters which will render some members of your audience uninterested in the show again. So this might have been a risky decision.

To be honest the thing jaby didn't like it is the reason I loved it. Every show glorify violence whereas this is what happens.
THE reason u saw Bablu brains coz Munna made guddu see it by delaying it and as we love Bablu so we have same vision as of guddu and the silence is coz Guddu is shocked and his brain is blacked out.
I think that's his point though. If you're saying you want the violence to be realistic then it directly contradicts the silence and slow motion (which is cinematic). The show is trying to do both and that's the issue.
Grandpa learnt from his mistake of forgiving Ratishankar, so he didn't forgive his daughter-in-law this time!!
I see where jaby is coming from. Because my problem is that if he learned from his mistake, that should be portrayed some how. Because now we as viewers are left to fill the gap which doesn’t really make sense to me.

But they miss-led us by making grandfather save that women and became paralysed, this gave him a characteristics which usually a antihero have like guddu. That was totally out of character. But 'not repeating his mistake' was definitely a motivation when he first warned and then provoked tripathi to kill the brothers.
There is nothing too surprising. In most Indian movies/ daily soaps/ documentaries the side of Guddu and Bablu always wins. So, it's unexpected for an Indian series to have this kind of ending where the Tripathis win on all fronts.
We are expecting them to have some setback, but the Tripathis are winning everywhere which is a deviant from normal Indian scripts. But I still like it. It got me more interested abt. S2 than any other ending could.

Most Indian webseries these days try to be "edgy" by showing too much gore in it. Sensor board of India filters out most of gory/brutal scenes from the Movies. Webseries don't come under sensor board of India. Maybe directors of webseries think that audience crave for gory scenes since movies are not allowed to portray it

I think this was the same reaction of us, after finishing Mirzapur season 1. It was mostly shock. The whole journey you were kind of enjoying the violence because guddu and bublu were safe and no matter where your moral compass is.. their acting made you feel for them and root for them. Even if you feel they are doing something wrong. But as time heals we are less shocked by the finale and can not wait to watch season 2. With Jaby watching this was like a revisit watching for the second time, perfect to recollect everything before the new season.
Have to say this was the most awaited reaction today. On second watch there is so much to appreciate about mirzapur. All the characters meant something to us, thats how good it was.

Mirzapur really sped up the Indian online scene and part of the reason is this story ..we all had a mini GOT red wedding shock because the mood is totally different in hindi(original language) so to see you guys have the same feeling after the English "changed lyrics" version is proof how art surpasses lingual boundaries and hope to see S2 with u too☺️
Jaby, as u mentioned, GOT violence inspired others series, similarly, I believe Amazon wanted Mirzapur to have more violence and uncomfortable moments than Sacred Games that why they went with all the violence.

1) *Made in Heaven* (Amazon Prime)(It's a classy and non-violent drama series)(It's totally different.You'll get to see expensive Indian weddings in this series but more importantly this series has brought up a lot of taboos and misconceptions of Indian society and sick mentality of some people like; old people can't have affairs and can't get married, the existence of dowry system till date even among the well educated people, rights of LGBTQ community etc.)
2) *Delhi Crime* (Netflix)(you guys need to watch it)(both of you will cry for sure)(amazing actors like; *Shefali Shah, Rashika Dugal and Adil Hussain* were casted for this series)
3) *Breathe* (Amazon Prime)(watch it for the brilliant performances of *R.Madhavan and Amit Sadh* and gripping storyline)(second season with *Abhishek Bachchan* is coming in July or August)
4) *Criminal Justice* (Disney Plus Hotstar)(one of the best yet underrated series from India)(you'll get to see *Bablu* i.e *Vikrant Massey* , *Kaleen Bhaiya* i.e *Pankaj Tripathi* and *Tiger Shroff's* father *Jackie Shroff* in this series)
5) *Special Ops* (Disney Plus Hotstar)(a little bit of vibe of *The Family Man* but not similar not at all)(all 3 of *K.K.Menon, Vinay Pathak and Sajjad Delafrooz* were superb)
6) *Paatal Lok* (Amazon Prime)(highly controversial and you might get some hate if you review this series but technically it's an amazing series filled with top quality acting performances from *Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Abhishek Banerjee, Swastika Mukherjee* and rest of the cast)

There hasnt been such a memorable, shocking, violent and near to reality climax ever made in a movie or drama that I can remember of (Se7en was one such).....The whole intensity was brought in so real that viewers could literally feel sick and the impact of this finale keeps u disturbed for days....even though the background songs in this wedding r fun but when they run on TV they now give a haunting feeling coz of this particular episode....This episode was a rollercoaster ride.....3 separate events (Grandpa with the bahu, Kaleen with the officer, and Muana at wedding) playing havoc in their best capacity, and the masterclass editing made it more intense.......without any doubt the best series on any platform......

I completely agree with you on the headshot scene. I guess the makers are trying to make the show as grotesque as possible. It doesn't help with connecting the story with the audience. But I am still waiting for season 2 to see if they make any changes in the way how they show similar instances.

Ghazipur, Mou is the area where most of the gangs gangsters operate.
Rewatching the show this year before starting S3, it felt very symbolic that Bablu's brains were splattered. He was, after all, the brains in the duo and in the businesses doing as well as they did. It was brilliant in that sense.

After of many years, I came back here to watch it again with my two favorites guys from internet, Mirzapur was of the greatest marvelous show in OTT platform history
I think with them showing them brains out, I felt what the director wanted to portray. The brains of the duo, now lays splattered. I felt it to be more of an expression than just the gore, someone full of life , someone loved so much, just lay splattered and spread out in front of those who loved him. you can see the evident frustation in the faces of the characters. To me it was more than just gore.
I can feel you jaby. After the 1st episode it took me a week to return for watching the remaining episodes. I watched just because my sister and best friend loved this series.

Actually, it's the Finale which made Mirzapur such a hit.
You missed the dialogue of Munna “it hurts when you’re capable but people doesn’t recognise your capabilities” He’s one of the most loved villains because Indian kids can relate to him
Only psychopaths relate to him. Talk about yourself. Self entitled assholes believe that. Nobody else.
@@ManishSingh-xo1fb you're right man, guys getting disappointed by some decisions of their parents is a totally different thing then Munna's behaviour and the dude up here is trying to justify Munna's sociopath instincts which is not right at all.
The way Bablu and guddu get shot is what we called poetic justice (justice, not in this case).
Bablu is the guy with all the brain so Munna shot him in the brain and Guddu is all about muscles and body so Munna shot him only in the body parts.
So by that creepy skull blow-up scene,director wants to show the metaphorically death of the brain part in guddu-bablu duo.

@@sahidpr9731 Asur is perfect..hmm do you know what perfect means...no show in this world is perfect and yes the acting is poor..Varun did act good but not as much as his role requires...their main lead was not given any kind of importance...the decisions were very quick and worthless...the makeup was terrible..the deads were looking a joke not a bit real..and except for the two leads...rest of the cast acts just okay none of them looks fitting the scores were too terrifying for the scenes itself... even their mysteries weren't actually a mystery, all the characters were boring, their way of storytelling was quick..
This show just stands on its story..which is actually good, if made on a little high budget...this show could've left a bigger impact but for now this show is overrated and deserves maybe 40% of its actual praise

Did you notice that the blood covered the whole mirzapur title as opposed to splashes in the beginning.
did you notice, on all episodes, the title screen text had smears of blood in it and by the end, it was fully dipped in blood
And the part where the heroic music comes is coz they made it out of that bloodbath without getting killed it’s as simple as that and the music makes complete sense. 1) that was not heroic music that was theme song (not heroic) to setup season 2.
2) your movies can show you an amount of voilence but we get nothing that's why these series show us everything that we cannot expect from movies.

Family man and mirzapur was much better than sacred games... Season1 thoda shi v tha season 2 toh aisa tatti tha.. Characters jada hone se acha ni hota.. Patal lok me na jada violence tha na kch ending thoda bakwas lga jaisa hype create hua tha bahut jada expectations tha hathora tyagi ka bas naam hi chala character ka screentime bahut kam.. Aur ending me main player kutta ko bna dia I was like kyu time waste kiye sb shi chal ra tha last me aisa kyu

No it's not just because there's a wedding doesn't makes it similar, GOT Red Wedding happened in S3 ending and the connection with the character who died was strong thats why Red Wedding hit hard than Mirzapur wedding deaths..

Bablu death wasnt expected..but now sincr I know, its classic typical Indian Bollywood plot..smart brother dies, the dumber one (but physically strong) survives and comes back for revenge getting smart too by the trauma..idk can't be sure coz it story didn't went as I expected in lots of parts but the way it went, im not disappointed

Its not the story its the level of gore and blood that is shocking. The show is trying to be edgy by showing all that. The story should be strong enough to be shocking not the level of gore in it

I'm glad jaby is criticizing, with reason, whatever he wants to without garnering hate from people. I wish achara did that too. I feel like she, often times, holds back her criticisms quite a bit and even goes out of her way to get defend things she watches even when jaby points out some issues with good reason.
