      Would leave the Pump/skimmer running during a storm.....less to clean up from the bottom afterwards.....empty it at least once a day.

    Just had 1 and 1/2" of rain last night. I have an above ground pool and the rainfall was enough to raise the water above the skimmer. I use the vacuum head and it's 1 1/4" hose to siphon from the bottom of the pool to an outside drain. I find this accomplishes 2 things. Pulls the cooler water off the bottom, and I get some of the debris that settled there as well. ...uh, and of course, don't forget to disconnect!. That method drained an inch and 1/2 of water from a 33' X 18' pool in about 15 minutes.

    I had a rainstorm come in last night. Some leaves, seed debris in the pool. I brushed, raked and used the Pool Blaster and it looks good. The rain was light but I'm going to chop my oak tree and others to reduce the leaves.

    I don't have a "waste". I think (as a new (old) pool owner and homeowner) I can only drain via backwash. This is challenging with a DE Filter because each time I will have to recharge or wait until mother nature is done with us and start over again. Is this normal for an older pool to not have an option to drain via main drain? No waste option? I only have a push/pull lever and that's it.

    I have a salt pool. What do I do if the rain is day after day after day for several days. Rain half of monday, then rain half of tuesday, then no rain on wednesday, then rain on thursday. Do i wait until all the rain is projected to pass before adjusting chemicals, or do I adjust as I go? For example, if my salt is being diluted by the rain, do I drain the water down and add salt to run the chlorinator and offset algae/bacteria growth? Or just wait until all the weather has passed and then get the water balanced?

      The video is great but seems to describe what to do after one day of a storm.

    All the videos are great. A weird topic but I am interested in cleaning the pool properly after finding a dead animal in it. We found a dead bird and three different pool supply stores gave us three different options! 😩 Any advice would be great! Thank you!

    I also have a question. Is there such a thing. As having too much chlorine? What do I do if I have too much in my pool

    What are alternatives to calcium? I cannot find it, or any products with it anywhere in my area ....

      Take calcium carbonate (limestone powder) it will increase your calcium hardness. It will also work as a flocculant (pool dirt settler)! Kill 2 sparrows from one arrow!

    Is it really this hard to take care of the pool? I’m afraid my parents might start to get annoyed by the pool’s needs

    Is this the same with above ground pools?

    • @SwimUniversity
      @SwimUniversity  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, as long as you can set your filter to waste!

    Can you make a video about bumps (like a small rock) on the floor of the pool underneath the vinyl liner?
