    I dont mind if they dont buy one of the selected bikes. Buying a bike is very personal, I dont expect them to get it right very often at all. I like the side by side comparisons and the discussion of what's different between bikes. I actually think bikers are by natute a little defiant, and are less inclined to pick a bike others have put forward.

      I am continuously flabbergasted by the mindset of the English riders vs. Americans. Here in the states no adult male would even take a test ride on any of the bikes I've seen featured in this TV series. People here want chrome cruisers, and they are embarrassed to even consider being seen on anything other than a Harley or similar cruiser.
      The average person here cares more about the status than the performance and nothing can change their mind.

      @bennettsbikesocial  4 місяці тому

      We're not in bed with SBF but to make this feature work we need a dealer who has a huge stock of all kinds of bikes at all kinds of prices . Otherwise we end up choosing bikes for our BikeSocial member that happen to be in stock at a smaller dealer rather than the ones we actually think they might like. We also need a dealer who has premises big enough for us to disrupt their business for a day while we film and are willing to accommodate the amount of chaos we bring. Plus, SBF's bikes, which largely come via 'we buy any bike' type websites are very representative of what a typical used example of that model might be whether buying from a dealer or private sale and we think that makes the feature more 'real'.

      Thanks for your comment, we do not sell trashed bikes, all bikes go through a 120 point check prior to sale. Unfortunatley, due to the amount of motorbikes we have, offering test rides is as you can imagine, logistically challenging - we do however, offer a 14 day money back gaurantee, this allows the rider to thoroughly evaluate the motorbike in your own time and return it within 14 days of purchase if it doesn’t meet expectations. The customer will get a full refund so long as it's in the same condition. Thanks, Team SBF

      A crossplane crank traditionally refers to i4 where the crank planes of 2 of the opposing pistons cross each other at 90 deg as opposed to a conventional and more common, flatplane crank which are all on the same plane.
      If you really think about it, All i3's crank planes cross, so its totally irrelevant and nothing unique for i3's. Yamaha just stole the moniker as a marketing term... they even use it for their twin... the CP2... and tbh it wouldn't surprise me if they brought out a modern single cylinder and called it the CP1. 😂

    I thought you were too conservative. l mean he was willing to spend it all but you were coming in well below. One of the bikes did surprise me though as it was a 20l9 model cannot remember what the others were or were not mentioned. Had it been me l would be going straight for a current year model or at the very worst maybe 2 years out max.
    Personally, l would have been looking at one of those amazing Sizuki things sorry their names get harder and harder to pronounce but the current 100)GSX and the GT l think from what l have read and seen they would fit the bill perfectly and might be even had brand new so to say l was disappointed is an understatement.
    I would have also looked at the Ninja 1000SX but you did bring out the other one so that was covered. Talking supercharged l would have gone for the Z one l think it was the H2 the naked version which seemed to have been withdrawn at least from where l search for bikes.
    I was happy with the Multistrada but disappointed it was not a V4 surely at that sort of money a V4 could have been found. Lastly one bike which l would have considered would have been the 1000XR BMW that is one crazy machine and from what l have been seeing the new M variant is on another level of craziness and fun.
    So for once l was underwhelmed by your choices but l still enjoyed the show. l liked the move to offer him a buy one get 2. That was a nice touch.
    Personally l would have loved the Tracer 9GT + but for whatever reason Yamaha does not offer a MT 10/R1 derived offering the 9 is excellent l did ride the old 900 and l found it very powerful even with a friend on board. However, it is based on the MT9/XSR platform which tops out at between 114 H[p to 118HP which is a chink in its armour as most of its main competition and its Japanese brethren have bikes which do 150 or more. Hopefully Yamaha fixes this glaring omission but still l would buy the current one funds permitting, l like the technology, the functionality, the gadgets and the great combination of price and reliability which are of paramount importance to me and l do love the craziness of Yamaha.

    When will one of the these riders buy a bike you’ve chosen?? This series doesn’t work I’m afraid. Also Superbike factory do not allow test rides to mere mortals, they offer a 14 day money back guarantee . Good luck with getting your money back in full 😮😮

      Thanks for your comment, Due to the extensive range of motorbikes we have available at our dealerships, unfortunatley offering test rides is logistically challenging. However, we provide a 14-day money back guarantee which allows you to thoroughly evaluate the motorbike in your own time and return it within 14 days of purchase if it doesn’t meet your expectations, customers will get a full refund so long as it's in the same condition. Thanks, Team SBF

    Michael brings up a great issue. At what price point do you just have to split it into two different bikes? At a certain point, no matter how much money you throw at it, one bike can't do everything well enough. Then John buys a bike well above the money he was talking about here? Its MSRP in the US at $25k for the base model to $30k+. I doubt the wife will spend much time on it. John, your "youth" is on fumes, middle age is moments away.

    Sorry for being an old bore, but as you age, you become a lot less flexible, don’t want to be, it just happens!!, so from an ex R1 owner from 24 years ago, I tried a M1000XR for size and it was instantly uncomfortable/unusable, I climbed off it immediately. What is there, that’s armchair comfy and goes like stink?!

    • @medler2110
      @medler2110 4 місяці тому +1

      Not sure about going like stink, but reached the same dilemma a few years ago, after nearly 40 years of riding I could only tolerate anything sporty for an hour max, for me it was a choice of not riding or finding something comfortable.
      I went for a BMW R1200RT, I can actually ride it for hours, obviously it can tour A roads and Motorways with ease, but most surprising was how well it went on twisty B Roads, it does get asthmatic at top end, but apparently the 1250 is far more revvy.
