A Safari in MM Hills | PG Palya Range

This vlog is about my experience visiting the newly opened safari (from Dec 2023) in MM Hills wildlife sanctuary, in PG Palya range. This safari is run on a pilot basis for now and the Forest department would take a call about continuing the safari in the coming days. The landscape is beautiful and the distance of safari is around 20 odd kilometres and 1:30 hrs.
They even take us to a APC - Anti poaching camp during the safari to show the place where Forest Guards and Watchers stay in the forest to prevent poaching activities.
Safari Timings - Morning - 6:00 - 7:30 am and 7:30 - 9:00 am
Safari Timings - Evening - 3:00 - 4:30 pm and 4:30 - 6:00 pm

Forest dept should have to introduce electric vehicles for jungle safari.. it may probably helps more chances for siting carnivores
Good thinking but actually they might attack n charge at vehicles which don't make much noise

Yeah, they say there are elephant and Gaur regular sightings.....just we couldn't spot any...
Yesterday we spotted Tiger there, we had a good safari please visit there and make a vlog I am a follower of both of you Shreyas sir and I am not free love your videos n editing skills🎉👍

Unlike Bandipura and Mudumalai forest stretch, the animals there r used to vehicles and traffic, here its virgin territory, so silence is the key.

Hope MM hills gets upgraded to tiger reserve soon n may political opposition to tiger reserve ends soon. I hope one day we can have a protected forest corridor from waynad- bandipur- br hills- mm hills- sathyamanglam- cauvery WLS- Bannerghata NP to koundiya WLS - sri venkateshwara WLS and onwards to nagarjuna srisalam. That would be a dream come true.
True, all remaining forests have to be protected with the highest level of protection that is appropriate for the area, so that it provides a good natural corridor for animals to migrate.
Love your Vlogs ! I am a big admirer and fan of Kenneth Anderson's works too . Wish i could have some memories like he had ,in the wild, especially here in Karnataka, to tell my next of kin ,when i am old 😅.. I try to go wildlifing as often as i can 😊

The more the protection the better the sightings
I started watching your vlogs yesterday and already completed a few of your vlogs, and KA diaries is very interesting. The places you have explored is something i have always wanted to go. I am from Bangalore and I would love to join on one of your adventures.

Hi Shreyas, Spotted Tiger yesterday in a PG palya safari wild range, Male dominate one around 8 to 9 years it was an great experience from past few days Tigers spotting ❤ continuously. Now there are two vehicles.

@@Shreyas.Ranganath it crossed the track n sitting inside the bush at time we went there we had a good sighting of that around 10sec n it went inside as in our Jeep people made some noise. I am telling u it was jus 10meter away from our Jeep, man what a sighting it was very huge one .
I heard from the driver Nagaraju there are around 3 Male tigers and 1 female with 3 cubs in safari range of 30kms.

Thank you for bringing this new safari to us. 🙂🙏 Is there a way to reach here using public transport from Bangalore? Which is the nearby town, if we need to find accommodation. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks, public transport might not be available directly from Bangalore, or you might need to go to kollegal by bus and take another bus from there to dhondeling. And I hear there is accommodation available at dhondeling Tibetan colony, which even I am planning to try next time i visit this place.

Then take MM hills route,
After 5 km you get Madhuvinahalli village, move about another 800 mts, you get bifurcation, take right direction road(called odeyar palya road)
Travel another 17 kms you reach Lokkanahalli
Sir, any accommodation is available near to this place!
Not that I am aware of, i guess I need to go to kollegal for some decent stays.

I think a electric vehicle would do the trick, very silent and pollution free.
