It seems like it is slow to come down to idle on the 044. You definitely wanna make sure you do not cook that saw due to an air leak. It is a beautiful saw for sure!
@@faithfulfarmadventures check around the intake boot, case, and crank seals. Run the saw then use something like brake clean and listen to the idle. air in leaks wil melt a saw
When you get into the larger wood, it seems as if it is going lean to me. I could be wrong but the RPM were really screaming and it seems like it lost the bottom end torque a bit.
The 036 is on the other end of the spectrum. It is SUPER fat on the H Jet. It cleans up a little when you lean on it. Generally you want it to be clean in the cut without having to lean on it and when the chain is lifted out of the wood a hair, a little 4 stroke burble is a place to be sir. Seems like the 036 is a complete whole saw that runs!
You make that 044 look like an ms170 in my hands Dustin!
ha ha ha I don't know about that lol
Glad your saw is finally fixed
It still needs a little fine tuning but its way better
saw so far seems to be doing well
Its way better than before that's for sure
that 036 really cuts great. i would just try to mod the muffler before getting something aftermarket it's really easy to modify Stihl mufflers.
Thanks for watching! I have been thinking about going that route on this one and see how it works.

@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead thanks Mike I’ll check that out.

Good info Joe, I am not a carb tuner at all.
I would fatten up the Hi Jet sir. There is not a sign of 4 stroking to my hear sitting on the other end of the screen.
I think I need to get your tuning ear on it because mine is no good lol
YOU MAY KNOW THIS BUT YOU CAN SELL THEM LOGS TO GUN MAKERS FOR THE STOCKS AND BUTTS
I did not know that< I wonder what kind of wood they use for that?
@@faithfulfarmadventures several hardwoods they can make stocks out of. Pecan and walnut stocks look good
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead that’s interesting
