    Used to carry out this procedure on every engine that came across the test bed. Whether it came directly out of service or a freshly overhauled engine that came through maintenance.

    This is funny to me because I worked for Lockheed and Rolls-Royce at Stennis Space Center as a Turbofan Test Engineer on the R&D for the Trent 900, 1000, and XWB. We washed our engines with a similar set-up, but we were on a man lift holding a 5000 psi spray nozzle while the engine was cranked on our test stand.

    • @zeto.r
      @zeto.r  25 днів тому +1

      Wow, that is huge pressure we are using 60psi. Your job sounds cool one day I would love to visit such facilities

      @@zeto.r, I'd much rather work at lower pressure! 5k is gnarly!
      Absolutely man! Any chance you get to visit an R&D facility, do it! I still have friends with Lockheed and Rolls-Royce at Stennis. It's been many years since I left there, in 2012, but I'll text a few of them and mention you if you'd like!

    I prefer the probes that installed from the back of the fan case. Much safer and simpler. This looks way too over engineered and easy to break.
