  • What better time than the channel’s 100th video AND second Birthday 🎂 to show off Italian brand CODODO’s latest creations: real bullets for the Mercury Rise Torpedo Revolver or TR50!
    We test a combination of 3 bullets prototypes and targets to see which one performs better.
    Not the most powerful CO2 launcher, the Mercury Rise TR50 still offers a lot with its long cylinder that fits anything, from pepper torpedoes to AK47 bullets.
    This is only the first model, Mercury Rise is said to be working hard to improve the power of its launchers.
    Today we test CODODO's signature 9mm bullets along with the .223 Nato AR-15 and 7.62mm AK47 bullets saboted to perfection in 50 caliber plastic casings. A MUST WATCH!

    Happy 100th Anniversary, Airgun Alley! Great job, Gian! Congratulations! Interesting performance by the Cododos; didn't expect the 9mm to be the more effective slug. As others have commented, the 7.62 were visibly tumbling, hitting the pumpkin sideways, so it seems to have weight and aerodynamics issues.
    Btw, what are those Gnomes doing this Xmas? Any chance they might be showing up in these latitudes...?😂

    Congrats brother. Came across your channel a couple months ago really love your work.
    I think the 762 needs a longer jacket. Compared to the other 2, the projectile part sticks out past the jacket a lot more. It's causing immelmanns and barrel rolls all the way to the target.

    When it comes to Airguns...
    I like to go with Light Weight Ammo. I find that Heavy Ammo is Only suitable for High Power Launchers. You should Always Keep the Sabots that are Undamaged as you can make some Custom Ammo, ie..Steel Tip Nuts,Steel Spikes, Nails and Hot Glue. As usual, your videos give us the 411 so that We can make Informed decisions about buying new products.

    Excellent video as always, might I suggest a bread knife for the butternut squash as it will cut it much easier, the 7.62 rounds were a bit clumsy because they are too heavy for the gun, the other two performed very well and would hit more accurately if you used a red dot sight.

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you as always my friend! On the accuracy, I’m afraid it’s not an aiming issue. I think it’s a combination of awkward trigger + recoil + short barrel that make the projectiles fly all over the place. I mean, always close to target, but with way too many misses.
      Very good idea on the bread knife, not as cool looking, but 😜

    when that squash tipped over its like your shooting at sloped armor like the soviet t-34 tank in WW2 projectiles bounce off because of the angle also sloped adds to the thickness of the skin making it harder to penetrate so that was unfair. and what would make your videos cooler is to pick up a high speed camera if its within your budget lets see what's happening in slow motion. also I have some great ideas about starting a LTL air gun and ammo company with 3D printers now I am originally from Texas and your in Florida so I already have a name for the air gun we can make FLORTEX AIR GUNS FLOR FLORIDA TEX TEXAS FLORTEX AIR GUNS AND AMMO I will have my people contact your people to get this new air gun company going.

    hello friend..nice video..
    It was obvious that the speed of the bullets would be slow due to their weight.
    But what do you think about the idea of drilling into 9mm bullets and placing a primer at the end?
    However, I think the speed of the bullets is enough to explode the primer you placed on the tip when they hit the target.
    I imagine the pumpkin will break into many pieces when it explodes..

    This gun is advertised as a less than lethal weapon. But with the bullets that can penetrate a hard shell squash and even a tin can, seem to be more than lethal, and can get some one into a whole lot of trouble...Impressive to say the least on the 9mm bullet, but its a bullet that might even kill some one and land you in jail, no?

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  6 місяців тому +2

      Hi my friend and great question. I would say, this gun could, in very rare circumstances, be deadly. Unlike a firearm which is most likely deadly. Thick clothing, for example, will almost stop the bullets at those speeds. But if you are at very close range and hit a soft spot in someone’s head, then indeed it can be dangerous.
      The goal of these is to produce a lot pain, so much so to deter someone from stepping one step closer, without killing them…

  • @mr.hedgehog
    @mr.hedgehog 6 місяців тому +1

    Accuracy? LMAO. The 7.62 are just too heavy for a short barrel gas gun, and no rifling means it will tumble upon leaving the barrel. I've tried steel-core ball ammo and powder torpedos, and neither justifies the laser I've got bolted to the lower rail. I'd like to see how a .50 cal Diablo-shaped slug compares for accuracy, since that seems to be the shape that works best in a smooth bore. Perhaps a head to head contest of all the TR50 "long ammo" against nylon and steel core balls, using a shooting stand or rigid bracket would determine if air pistol accuracy is a complete myth.

    @AirgunAlley
    Why did you leave your home country? And why would you go live in the everglades where you're obviously very uncomfortable?

      Hi there. I moved out of my country around 20 years ago and moved to the “Third World” where I lived in South and Southeast Asia filming and covering conflicts (from Myanmar to Papua), disasters, extreme poverty, death and devastation for two decades .
      My company then transferred me to Miami (not to the Everglades).
      Ever since I moved here and my daughter was born, I started this channel in the hopes to one day get out of the crazy News cameramen life. So trust me, the Everglades are the least uncomfortable place for me

    Congrats on the bday!
    I am not sold on sabot bullets. They just look awkward sitting still.
    Sabot balls i think are just better balanced for good trajectory and accuracy.

      Thanks a lot man! I have to say, the 9mm are a good compromise. Between a pointy bullet and a ball. I’ve put 9mm for the HDR 50 against the devastator a while back and they really help up great!
