There will be a new Internal Combustion Engine Equinox in 2024 to go along with the EV one. In fact there will be 1 more all new ICE versions for all GM crossovers i heard. This includes Caddy XT4, XT5 and the XT6, the Buick Enclave, Acadia and the Terrain as well. I think the Trailblazer. Encore GX and especially the Envision that will just get tweeks. I hope they all have eco and performance versions to go out with a bang.
@@patcurrie9888 I heard they'll be offering a key wind-up engine in 2023 to get you used to the EV. You know, like how you wind-up a jewelry box or chattering teeth.
Thank you for all your comments on this vehicle they are all spot on. I have had this exact vehicle for three weeks. I agree with everyone of your likes and dislikes.
Thankfully, I don’t care about drive modes and sounds systems and headrests and I dislike sunroofs, so I will be picking up my new Equinox next week. 😁. It is odd as my current 2011 Equinox at least had an ECO mode, though never really saw much difference in that mode.
@@SchwayZ I’ve owned Chevy cars and trucks for going on 45 years and none are perfect, but I think it will be a good car. My 2011 Equinox has held up pretty well and been quite trouble free except for the oil consumption issue that started too late to be covered by the extended Chevy warranty. I missed it by less than 6 months, but such is life.
Really good review with details that very few discuss. Very sharp looking car and nice color. I've encountered a rather large number of Equinox bashers when I ask that if the this Chevy is so bad how come it's GM's bread and butter veihcle. I'm in the market for a crossover and want to look closely and test drive the Equinox. Thanks for the detailed view!
Okay, finally a video that addresses that sports mode button. I had a 2014 Nissan Altima and although it was a 4 cylinder, that sports mode button gave me instant takeoff speed. Great review.
Great video bro.. keep you the good work. Aweosme explaination of this video I was comparing it to my moms and I can see a few different changes from 2020 vs 2022 but other then that everything else the same aweosme job great video God Bless
@@SchwayZ yeah it’s clean and after my mom had got hers I was never a Chevy person I was like why she buy this lol but after a while it’s cool and simple
It's quite odd your equinox had 1300 miles on it during this review... mine had 33! But in the dark blue metallic glow version........ Our experiences are way different...after 11500 miles!
I drove my 22 equinox rs through a mild puddle maybe 5 inches deep and flooded the engine. I love it but this is not the first problem I've had with it. Just be ware and make sure the dealership will do loaner vehicles
Its a basic entry level SUV. It looks great. I dont know if the 1.5 turbo will have reliability after 7 years. For the price, you could score a more reliable SUV. The Blazer is hugely over-priced and now the Equinox is venturing into that area as well. Several years ago a mechanic put a new Equinox on a rack and looked underneath. Nothing was covered or shielded from the elements. This is a cost cutting measure customers dont see but will experience later on when the elements start deteriorating the vehicle. But this is what GM does.....shiny new cars for maximum profit. I have seen some RS models near 38k. I would take a Rav4 over an Equinox any day just for the reliability alone. Its excellent on gas so that will be a great feature in today's market.
Great video! If I'm not mistaken can't you drag the camera app down to the bottom bar on the screen to make it easier to access your camera kind of like how you can adjust your apps on an iPhone to your bottom bar
I didn't see that functionality but it might be possible to do that. I think it was just for certain options and I don't think the camera was one of those but I could be wrong
I am on a very tight budget. I looked at Mazda CX5 & Toyota Rav4. Both good vehicles. But for the same year models (2020 & 2021) the prices are significantly higher than the Equinox. I have a hard time to rationalize the extra $3000-$6000 for them. This is probably why people buy GM over Toyota, Honda or Mazda.
GM products have improved considerably over the past two decades. If you give the vehicle the maintenance it needs when it needs it, it should overall be as reliable as some of the Japanese brands.
Great overview. I wish the bigger infotaiment screen was standard at the 8 inches. I got mine today and the screen is still pretty nice and better than what I had in the Traxx, the bigger screen gives the dash a more premium look.
even my sales guy admitted the Iron Gray metallic that I went with was a perfect choice. As it truly compliments the gray adroid painted rims. Over all I like my 22 RS trim level and find it works. The headrest is a personal choice for the cushioning of it really. As for the driving mode options again it's not something the everyday driver would be demanding or asking for. As for the sunroof, ya that wouldn't be a bad thing. I've had a car in the past with a sunroof and at times I didn't use it as often as I thought I would.
I live in Brazil and actually I do own a Equinox Premier 2020 with the 2.0L engine. Damn, I am in love with this hive grille and the new shift knob. Wish I had the part numbers of them to make some upgrades on my car :(
Just purchased mine today in the seaglass blue color. It only has 34 miles, but I like it so far and the seats are very comfortable. Edit: I must have got a great deal, I paid out the door $36,050.00 for my RS and it had panoramic sunroof and the thick rubber cargo liner and floor mats. Check out Mark Porter in Pomeroy, Oh if you're in the market for one. My salesman was a guy named Logan Paltrow. He was amazing, wasn't pushy, and had an overall great personality. I look forward to dealing with him in a year or two when I go to buy a truck.
I had bought a 2022 Iron Gray metallic Chevy Equinox in late Jan. Had that thing traded back in by March and bought an Iron Gray metallic premier model. The Rs equinox was way to dark with all the black accent pieces.
Great review. Yeah, I thought the 5 things you didn't like were being picky. I'm not one for too many Cameras. Something expensive to repair after warranty. Same with the Sunroof. I think they only come with a pan roof. I've never liked those either. Big issues when they start to leak. The rear head rest I'm with you. I would remove it, and have it corrected, but yeah, it could have been much better. I actually drove the Premiere and I loved it. Very surprised. The ride was very good but could be improved changing the Michelin Primacy tires which are horrible riding and very noisy tires. I've driven 4 vehicles with those, and they all ride terrible. I will likely purchase one of these very soon but without AWD (hate that) and the pan Sunroof ($1500). Update: I actually drove an RS RWD and didn't like the ride. The ride was stiff but the seats very comfy. The turning radius isn't as tight on the RS as the Premiere which is excellent. The Bose is very good but favors the front speakers. Can't even hear the rear speakers from the front seat. Lastly I do agree about your Rav4 comments. I had a 2018 Limited but like this better.
Great video ,agree with my 36k premiere no having a sunroof but I love love my 2 tone seats and feel this car looks better than the cx5 and rav4. More leg room than those 2 also.
Come on, 1.5T engine and 6-speed transmission for RS. The same car made in China provides 2.0T engine and 9-speed transmission. Chevrolet, stop fooling everyone…
Chevy needs to bring back the 2.0 liter turbo version for the RS trim level.
That would be great for the RS trim
Nope. 1.5 is last engine before all electric 2024

Thanks for the info on the back passenger space. This is what I needed to know. You showed details that are important for 5 passengers
Glad you found it helpful!
i own one and i agree w everything you said fr
I got myself one of these bro. My wife loves it, I do too.
Mines got the panaromic sun roof 😁
I wish they had the eco mode especially.
Congrats! Yeah they are great crossovers!
I got a 2022 LT. Same color. That car is amazing. Pretty powerful for a 1.5. I beated my friend on his 2022 Tiguan
Definitely a sweet ride!

Thank you! Appreciate you checking it out!
I just wish it had a bigger engine for more horsepower like a 2.0L turbo
Yes it's unfortunate they removed the 2.0L from the lineup but I was surprised with how quick this one was
The car is light and can be Dingy towed ( four down) with an RV which is hard to fine in an Automatic

Yep! It will automatically turn on the rear view camera when you put it in reverse
