Fantastic cool feature, thanks for an excellent video! Good choices of instruments too, definitely going to try this on acoustic instruments like piano, guitar, snare etc. Melodyne has definitely much more power under its hood than at first glance. Quick idea/question: Can you tune a whole drum kit that is slightly out of tune to the key of the song so it sits just right with this technique? I have experienced that sometimes when there is something you can't just pin point, but you know that something isn't right - it can be the tuning of the snare or the kick - and when it's in alignment tonally with the key of the song, it's just 'sings' with the rest of the instruments!
This is great, Melodyne is so incredible. For me it's ground breaking plugin over the last 15 years. When you're making those little cuts you're demonstrating, what does that do to the phase? Is there any compensation made within Melodyne to address those kind of sharp multiple cuts across the frequency range? What is the risk of artefacts etc when even just using Melodyne ? Imagine the speed, time saved and workflow options when they introduce and implement AI into Melodyne and what form that would take.. It's all a race to AI now.
It was about time to emphasize this EQ part in Melodyne. A very valuable use case of this EQ is to pull down the resonance frequencies of a bass. It's very different than a conventional EQ. It only affects the resonance when it occurs and not the fixed frequency spectrum in that range. A little bit like a dynamic EQ. Melodyne is such a jewel.
WHAT. 😳 Have been a user for 15 (?!) years. Have never seen/heard this. Absolutely incredible technology, again, always. My goodness. One of my favorite things about this business/craft... always something new to learn. Thank you!
Thanks, Daniel. You might have a different Melodyne edition then? The Sound Editor is only available in Melodyne studio. It’s definitely worth the upgrade. 😉
This is all very interesting and nice but I don't see any particular use in it. I sometimes get the impression that these tools for manipulating sounds are only used because they are just there and not because you really need them! In my opinion it's a waste of time because you can easily get lost doing things nobody really needs.
Did you watch the video? Theres no other tool that can adjust all of a sounds harmonics is one go like this. Youd need like a 100+ band eq to achieve this.
This program never ceases to amaze me

Yes, of course you can also tune drum kits in Melodyne. 😎
This is great information that I've not heard about and wondered why it existed and never really hunted down the answer.
Thank you so much!
Happy to hear it helped. 🙂

Wow! Blown away. What a great video. Thanks. I will be using Melodyne Studio to tweak piano and snare drum right now.
Hi, I've been using these options for many years, but it has been refreshing to see your approach to these! Thanks for the video! 💥🚀

Can this feature be automated? If I want a certain pitch brought up in one chord, but another pitch brought up in a different chord.
Great Tutorial, Sensho :)
today I learned something new.. very useful, thanks!
Ok. The gain-compensation is a huge time-saver
POV: you misplaced
This is incredible!
Wow, that was some good stuff. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, that´s very helpful and will be done in the next mixes :)
Love this program!!
Cool, thanks for your comment!
🔥👌
The chords remind me of rocket Man
Very nice. Thank you

Thanks for sharing! We love to hear how people are using the Sound Editor on their tracks. 🙂
Great tutorial #iykyk
Great educational video many thanks, - Can we automate those sliders in the DAW ? or in Melodyne itself ?

Totally disagree because having this flexible of EQ is extremely useful. Makes hardware clones look like a joke
Sure, why not just add your two cents 🤣
Agreed
@@Mdjagg Who cares? Why for gods sake would you adjust harmonics?
