    Hello, this is Algae.
I think many people are very interested in bananas.
Bananas are often referred to as seedless fruits.
Today I would like to talk about banana seeds, something we didn't know about until now.
I hope this video will give you pleasure.
    Have a nice day :)
    Thank you.

      Hello this is Algae.
Thank you for sharing nice information :)
As you mentioned, the variety that once dominated the banana market, 'Gros Michel', was wiped out due to a fungal disease.
Of course, the Gros Michel variety is maintained in limited places, but it is expected that it will be difficult to find it in supermarkets again.
The extinction of varieties is thought to be due to the low genetic diversity of crops in agriculture.
In particular, due to the characteristic of triploid banana farming that relies on suckering, numerous banana trees on one farm are no different from a single individual, making them particularly vulnerable to disease.
The Cavendish variety, which now replaces the Gros Michel, may repeat similar events to the past.
Fortunately, there are a variety of triploid banana varieties, and there are many diploid species and cultivars growing in the wild and on farms, but it's unfortunate that the delicious banana varieties are susceptible to disease.
      Have a good day :)
