Good information! Just picked up my Sport today. On the collision button up top, my salesman told me to turn in off if I go thru a car wash, but otherwise leave it on.
Thanks for watching! Yes, Subaru recommends turning off part of the Eyesight Tech while going through car washes, but I think that they're referring to the carwashes that have you put your vehicle in Neutral and are then "dragged" through the car wash. I've taken Subarus through the touchless car washes where you're stationary and never once had an issue with not turning the safety tech off.

It's a little bit more refined this year and a little less "in your face" with the orange highlights inside the vehicle. The physical dials are nice to have as well, I'm a fan of them.
I think a lot of potential Forester owners would really like that. There weren't the sales numbers to support the continued building of the previous XT and that is why it was scrapped.

Best detailed and well informed reviews! Shopping our new vehicle after just selling our Jeep Rubicon. Two questions- Could you do a side by side comparison of the Sport and Wilderness? Also, new to Subaru and if we would most likely plan to purchase the Forester redesign for 2024/2025 do you think it would still be worthwhile to purchase a 2023 model now, and then trade 2 years? Thanks for providing your great content, very helpful!!
Thanks for the comment! Glad that you enjoy my videos! Indont have any Forsters left in stock to compare side-by-side, I have no new vehicles left in stock at the moment. If you're planning on upgrading in a couple years and go with the redesign, you should look at leasing the 2023 Forester - you won't have as large of a financial commitment, and if you don't like the redesign, you can always buy your lease out and keep it for yourself.
I've said it before, but I don't know why Subaru doesn't offer the heated steering wheel in the states. We get some awful cold weather here in Iowa too.
Yeah, it's odd to omit the USA from being able to purchase a Forester with the heated wheel in the same trims that we get here - I know plenty of places in the USA get well below freezing temps.
All of my customers with rear facing child seats have reported to me that they find there is plenty of room in the Forester for car seats. Your mileage will vary depending upon the size of the car seat and how far back you sit in the front seat, though. I find that out of all of our vehicles, the Forester has the most amount of second row room.
Congrats in advance on the Forester, you're going to LOVE it! The most popular colors are Black, White and Grey in general. Here, we sell a lot of the Green and Blue's.
Hi Tyson, Thank you for your video. I learned more about this nice Sport model. I am undecided between the Weldeness and the Sport model. In my area no one have a Sport or Weldeness. To my personal opinion, I found the regular Forester a bit slow in acceleration and that is why I was considering the sport to help the situation abit. When you put the S# mode, is it faster than the Wildernsess or regular model? I really try to find the 0-60m for the sport and I can't find it anyware. Would you be kind to tell me those information. Thank you in advance. JS
Thanks for the comment! The Wilderness and the Sport will accelerate faster than a standard Forester in #S mode. The Wilderness is a tad faster than the Sport on initial acceleration due to the lower gear ratio that it comes equipped with, but you do sacrifice some fuel economy and top end power because of that.
I can't say that I find there to be a lot of road noise while driving the Forester at highway speeds, but I haven't driven a 2023 yet, so it could be different than the 2022's

I am currently looking into a Subaru Forester Touring. However I have heard that Subaru windshields are pretty weak and prone to cracking. Due to eyesight calibration it costs about $1000 to replace. While insurance can take care of this, I am concerned about the availability of parts (supply chain issues) and the inconvenience. I have heard of people replacing their windshields 3 times in a year (To be fair they also live in Calgary where gravel is used instead of salt on the roads). What are your thoughts on this? Are there some models that fare a bit better in this regard (such as the crosstrek or impreza)?
I cant say that I've had anyone come back with any windshield issues on a Forester/have complained to me of them braking easily. I've had a couple people mention the Outback windshield class action in the states, but nothing for the Forester, Crosstreks, Imprezas, etc. I always recommend windshield insurance because glass is expensive. It sounds like those people had terrible luck if they replaced the shield 3 times in a year, but they probably speaks to the size of the gravel they put on the roads in Calgary. I would suggest aftermarket glass for that particular person to see if that would make a difference for them, if they've been getting oem replacements.
You'll want to do research on the 23 Forester. I'm not sure if they change the windshield. But yes the windshield getting chipped is super common and expensive to fix. :(
