Which of these places have you eaten at? Or which of these places would you eat at?
Malley's Chocolates was my first job....I had so much fun there.
Aww that had to be a cool first job!
Nice learning about this Chocolate making business. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Let’s gooo represent the city!
I know that's right!
I lived most of my life in Cleveland.. and almost everywhere I would have picked , you hit.. especially , Kim's, Slyman's, and Mt Pleasant BBQ (-aka -Whitmore's)
Love it! So many great places to eat in Cleveland! And such great varieties.
Yum yum yum! I live a couple hours from Cleveland and have never been. But I’ve been thinking about making a trip up there soon and will for sure have to put these on my list!
Omg! Yes definitely stop some of these places when visit!
I haven’t eaten at any of these places and they all sound delicious. The corned beef sandwich at Slyman’s looks so good…that sandwich looks huge. Watching you eat it is making me so hungry right now!
Yes the Slyman’s sandwich is huge! It’s definitely more than one meal!!
You should have went to the Malley's in Lakewood. It is the original location. Love Yours Truly. They make the best Montecristo. For polish boys try Steve's Diner at 6850 Biddulph Rd.
I had looked at visiting the original Malley’s but it wasn’t so convenient. And I will have to try those polish boys another time! Thanks for watching!
All of these places are great. A must try for any tourist to our city
Most definitely!
Great Review Ms.Kita …. I’ll be trying some of these places when I visit Cleveland again
Thank you! Let me know which places you try once you visit again!
If I’m ever in Cleveland I will definitely try these, especially the cafe. Looks like that is up my alley. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome!
Oh wow, everything looks amazing! Great to have a best friend who is a caterer, thats fab she did the food for your birthday! 💗
It is excellent! I’m glad she could cater my birthday!
The Ice cream and BBQ looked yummy! What an awesome food run on a cool area! It makes me want to add to my bucket list to take a road trip to this pleasant restaurants!
And they were both delicious! Thanks for watching!
Honey hut is my favorite ice cream place. Honey pecan and chocolate pecan double dip.
It is so good!! And this flavor sounds delicious!
Foodie here! Wait… that sandwich from Slyman’s is huge! My mom loves corn-beef so she would be drooling over this right now. Those Notso fries have my name on them!
That sandwich was so huge. It’s is definitely more than one meal.
I love looove food, so your video is perfect for me! All of these places look amazing and I'll make sure to visit them once I'll be in Cleveland. Thank you so much for sharing :)
I’m glad you found this helpful! Thanks for watching!
I love how affordable the chocolate and ice cream are. Slyman’s definitely gives you what you pay for! Yours truly fries looks beyond delicious! 😋
Yes Slymans definitely gives you what you paid for! For a few days lol.
Cant wait to visit!
I hope you enjoy your visit!
Ahhh I love pastries and sweets so much I wish I could teleport to Baraona's and Malley's right now. The food from The Break Room Cafe and Kim's Wings look wonderful, too - I relate so much with that yummy food dance you did after trying the wings 😆
I love sweets too! I wish I could teleport Baraona’s to me lol. And if you don’t dance, was your food really good?
Slymans hours have been short since I can remember. But they did open very early. It is a ABSOLUTE MUST if you love corned beef. Definite Cleveland staple!
Yes indeed it’s a Cleveland staple!
Never been to Cleveland yet but hopefully one day! I'm a big fan of food trips and this video was a real treat! Looks like there are lots of options for us to try once we make it there.
Yes there are plenty of food options in Cleveland! Thanks for watching f!
At the very least there are a THOUSAND more places. Try Corkey & Lenny's Deli on Chagrin Blvd. Sandwich's that are built like Slyman's Corned Beef. 60+ years in business, I love the Mish Mash Soup, and is a Must try, with a Soft Salami on Kaiser Roll with a Pickle. I'm Hungry.
Definitely agree! So many options! More options than anyone can eat lol.
THIS is the kind of city I’m in down for! Hahah. I love food tours. The next time I go to Cleveland I’ll hit some of these spots for sure.
Yes definitely check out some of these spots!
I have not been to Cleveland yet but these places look legit. I am all about the food when I travel! I love trying new things in different cities. Yay for chicken wings!
Yes the chicken wings are amazing! And that’s a must to try new foods when traveling!
Love all of these places 😍
All delicious! Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed this video
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Those cookies looked good. I love cookies. If I ever visit the area, I will have to check these places out.
This bakery won’t steer you wrong!
First time viewer that lives in Cleveland. I really enjoyed your viedo tour. Very nicely assembled and edited. your narration and guidance is appreciated. I was born here, left for the Tampa Bay area for 22 years, moved to Rural Mountains in North Carolina for a few years where I had some of the best meals i ever ate.
BUT, i must say that living in the south 25+ years I missed Flavor in local dishes. Food's in the South were more basic and bland in some regards. What I missed the most about the Cleveland area???? Food's with Flavors! Exiting the plane, jump in the rental car, and head straight to Farinacci Pizza in Northfield Center. I began eating this great pizza in the early 1970's. Oh YES it is that good. Pizza and salad is the main menu items with a few sandwich's i think. Pizza is what you come for, The Feista salad is what you snack on, along with your Cold Pepsi as you wait the 20 mins for your Delish-e`iousness. Cash only!
What a journey that has taken you full circle! I’m glad you were able to get back to Cleveland and the food you love!
LOL
You are stunningly beautiful, Kita! Now that i've got that out of the way, I know a lot of Clevelanders love their affordable, but quality diners. The most iconic ones (at least on the West Side) are George's Kitchen and Joe's Deli. Both have been around for decades, and are my 2 favorites in the area. From what they tell me, they've been around for decades too, with both owners now in their 70's or 80's. Which are your favorite family diners in the CLE area?
Thank you so much! I am from the East Side and I must say there doesn’t seem to be as many family diners on that side of town. More so like little hole in the wall places is more of what would experience. But two diners that do stand out to me is Michaels Diner at Shaker Square. When growing up and my friends I thought we were grown by going to Tower City by ourselves on the rapid lol, we would stop by there. And another one is Big Al’s Diner on Larchmere.
You forgot Diner on Clifton. It's so funny, so many nice restaurants in the W 117 Clifton -Detroit area (Dianna's, My Friends,)
The way you danced after eating those wings, l KNOW they were good!💃🏻
You know it! Thanks for watching!
Marquita, you're eyes are gorgeous. I just had to say that. I'm always like wow they're so gorgeous when I watch your videos lol. I love how you give a little history on the places. Makes it even more interesting. Dang that corn beef sandwich was MASSIVE!! It looked really good though. Great video.
Thank you! And I’m glad you enjoyed the history. And that corned beef sandwich is huge. It definitely was saved for a couple of lunches.
Like your reviews but wish you would spend more time reviewing the food and flavors, what the flavor profile is, the best and worsts on the menu, etc.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Kita as a Cleveland native myself i love all the places you shared in this vid! There's so much to do in Cleveland! Thanks for sharing! 💌
There is a lot to do there. A lot of hidden gems. And thanks for watching!
Totally glad I had dinner before watching this video. $1.40 for a milk chocolate bar! So totally in! OMG, those Notso fries! ROFL, “I got a side salad to kind of flush down the things I had to eat today.” 😂
Lol hey I needed something green to go with this fun filled stuffing of food weekend lol.
I’d love to try like all these places! I definitely love some chicken wings!
Those chicken wings were everything!
I've got to check out a few of those spots and definitely check out the break room cafe next time I get a chance. Also, Kim's sauce goes awesome with the fries! And you didn't get anything Mediterranean or Eastern European? Steve's Gyros at the west side market is awesome and Sokowlowskis around Tremont is great though I think they might have closed due to the Pandemic.
Yeah I had to limit the places I went. I was getting stuffed to capacity lol 😆! Maybe I will have to do a part 2 at some point. Ooo that reminds me I need to get up to Kims. And I must try it on fries. And yes definitely check out the Break Room Cafe!
Tremont is where I live, 50 years, still do
Damn…that corn beef sandwich from Slymams is SLAMMIN! It looks like they put a pound of corn beef on one half of it. I’d tear that up!!!!
YES IT IS!!!! And that definitely had to be a pound of corned beef!
Honey Hut, ice cream made with honey, damned good ice cream. Slyman’s , real authentic corn beef sandwiches.
That ice cream is soooo good!!! Never disappoints!
Kita great job ive been to all of these 🚔
Thank you!
Plan on moving to clevland ohio soon. Hope to visit some of the places you recomend. Should be nice since i love eating out. By the way you seem to be doing well. Be watch of clones. Not to get off track but cant wait to restraunt hop. So excited.
I hope you enjoy your love to Cleveland! Thanks for watching!
I’m gonna have to check out honey hut ice cream
Yes!!! The ice cream is really good!
Try southern cafe if like zanabar w117 Lakewood
Oooo adding this to the list!! Thank you!
Oh god, I had Kim’s wings the other day , Kim’s wings got the best polish bo too
Oooo good to know! I’m getting one when I go back to Kim’s.
How can you leave out Corky's, Aladin's, Davis Bakery, & Hough Bakery?!?!
Well if I would’ve went to too many places, I would’ve been more than stuffed but stuffed, sick and exhausted. So I picked the tops for me! But there are plenty of places in Cleveland to consider for good eats.
I love Slymanns corn beef, the one on 30th give you way more corn beef
Lawd more! I already have to save part of the one I got lol.
There are many more
😊😊😊😊
Definitely! Thought I would start with the classics. Plus I can only record….well eat so much in one video lol.
I live down the street from there its good
Thanks for watching!
Your welcome your so gorgeous btw
Thanks!
Yeah people be sleep on Cleveland food scene when it comes to Ohio food everyone only talks about Columbus, and Cincy
People need to wake up to Cleveland's food scene!
Slymans is cool they meat a lil too dry for me. You must not know bout Harvard deli lol
I have but I just wanted to do a variety of locations around the city to give people options. Plus, I couldn’t eat everywhere. I struggled with eating at all of these places lol.
Harvard deli is no comparison to slymans.
Sounds like I need to grab them both and do a taste test at the same time!
Superior deli beats both!😋
Battle of the corned beefs!!! Adding to the list!
My city, I love Malleys chocolate, get a box of peanut clusters, or almond cluster
I'm not big on peanut in my chocolate but I do enjoy their chocolate bars w/o the nuts.
What are not so fries?
Basically they are golden brown cottage fries with some type of cheese on top, bacon and sour cream.
What are the best neighborhoods to live in? We are considering moving to Cleveland.
Do you want to live in the actual city of Cleveland? Or is a suburb an option for you too? There are options for both but just trying to narrow it down a little for you.
@@KitatheExplorer suburbs is an option. Maybe a 30 minute drive to Downtown. An area where my adult sons can walk to the store and back without incident
Here are some suggestions that you can research and look into:
- Kamm's Corner
- Tremont
- Jefferson
- University Circle
Some suburbs 30 minutes or less:
- Beachwood
- Lakewood
- University Heights
Hopefully this is a good start for you to start your research!
@@KitatheExplorer thank you so much!! I appreciate it.
You're welcome!
Honey rocks
I'm in Cleveland Heights right now, and I'e been to Slyman's. It's just a big hunk of meat with two slices of pumpernickel. Not much else. I don't see what's the big deal.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Nice but im sorry rascal house did not deserve an honorable mention lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
