Its always sad seeing a fairly high performance car getting ruined by someone who clearly lacks the experience needed. Its not even a manual lmao how hard is it to change gears on a freaking paddle shifter?? Dude has the easiest car setup in the world to drive and still fucks it up...

The first GTI was iconic but it was also just a dangerous econobox with stronger engine. When front wheel drive cars began to take over, everybody advertised them as easier to drive and more practical, while in reality they had very tricky driving characteristics comparing to rwd, which combined with weak shells of the era made them extremely dangerous, but they were much cheaper to make. Golf I didn't even even have door reinforcements, even the IIIrd generations didn't have them from the beginning although it was 1960s invention and not even expensive to make. We were sold deathtraps, and motor press participated in the scam.
