- I've got a bunch of molds laying around that I've never cast, either because they're brand new or for some other reason just never used.
This episode is with the MP 402-190/180 HP, a 180-200 grain bullet for40 S&W and 10 mm.
In this series, I plan to try to bring one of those molds out every week for a while until I get through most of them. Probably won't be EVERY week, but I'll try.
There isn't a better way possible to start a New Year, a New Month, A New Week, than with a New "Moldy Monday"! I'm gonna stop right here and wait on the Rumble Video! Happy New Year Sir Walter!

Walter, The MP molds I have are what you stated "Quality" and they were money well spent. On a side note, I like how you go through the steps on your channel, Also, You also exhibit special attentions to SAFETY when handling ammunition and firearms at home,, Also, Firearms (I can't express this enough) you do it OUT ON THE RANGE.. There are some channels that make me white knuckled on the edge of my seat with a cringe of fear look on my face. you are pretty safe when it comes to that and it is noteworthy. So, Happy New Year! This is one I don't have. I have a 160hp that can do 170 solid and a 200 solid that can do a 190hp.
But back before I new MP I bought a NOE 403-181that makes a nice 182/3 solid and 170 cup and 165 HP. Looks very similar.

Very nice looking. 40cal bullet Walter. Happy new year. Was best here. Kayla went bed early. I stayed up dog till 3am playing my game and on my phone got cleaning done. Still under the weather. And rest my family got cold flue from Christmas.

Nice bullets, I have the MP 402-160 HP/PB which also drops a 170 gr. solid and both are great shooters in my 10 mm carbine. I love MP molds for the quality and value for what you pay.

Nice looking bullets wonder if you ever want to test them in gel blocks to see how much they expand . The turkeys opinion does testing on bullets in gel , maybe you could send him some sometime ?

Hey Sir, in your experience, all other things being equal(exact same gun, load, and projectile), is a cast projectile(rifle or pistol) usually more precise with "lube grooves" or without through a rifled barrel?
Hi Joe. To be honest, I haven’t been dealing with grooveless (AKA “HTC” and “NLG”) bullets for more than a couple of years and can’t really attest to any superiority in accuracy. My shooting these days is mostly limited to 25 yards or less, and the No-Lube-Groove bullets are at least AS accurate as a grooved counterpart. That said, we do get increased bearing surface in the rifling which is bound to help. A couple of procedural advantages, though minor, are that the bullets drop from the mold more freely and in some cases are easier to powder coat. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
@@viejo2a part of the reason I'm asking is that I've heard that the grooves help with stability. Additionally, Paper Cartridges YT channel did a small series on the minne ball of civil war fame. In it, he showed that the designer's original intent for the groves of that projectile was to aid in stability and precision, putting lube in them was just kind of a bonus function. The idea is that if the projectile is straight and stable in flight, the grooves provide little to no drag. If it starts tipping nose down in flight, for example, the grooves provide some drag(more than no grooves at all) to help restabilize the projectile. That YT channel is also a fan of the Pritchett bullet, a British, non-grooved projectile from the period of the minne ball. He likes it for extreme ease of muzzle loading, but the precision is consistently less than the minne ball with grooves. Clearly, grooves are not the only variable in that scenario, I'm just trying to figure out if the grooves actually help, don't do anything, or hurt precision. I greatly value your opinion and life time of experience related to this topic. Thanks for the input.
