I’ve been waiting for this video for the longest time, thank you for coming through with these suggestions. I honestly could never tell the difference between a setting and finishing powder but you explained it so well.
The fit me powder is beautiful but it emphasizes my fine lines under the eyes a lot. I have the same issue with Huda powder. I wouldnt repurchase it, and I kind if hate the pink powders on my olive skin tone. They mess up the color of my base products a little. I prefer something closer to translucent/colorless or slighly yellow/peach because its finer, and potentiates the concealing power of the base
@@doryk7090 I stopped using powder under the eyes, but on the rest of the face now i do a full set on top of a sheer layer of liquid foundation ive let set on its own a little (loose powder on a powder puff all over); the Maybelline Lasting fix Banana loose setting powder and the loreal Pro sweep and lock loose powders look great for that, the RCMA no color powder as well. I also like the Wet n Wild photofocus loose setting powder in Banana (darkens concealer/works on face), even if its a bit less finely milled; because after that i always push in the powder onto the foundation with a sponge or my hands and mist the face with the Wet n wild natural finish setting spray and push that in with a sponge again. Plus i have oily skin. If I didnt have oily skin I would only dust a bit of blurring powder on the tzone with a brush. I think the Huda/fit me loose powders would work on the face this way as well. Because it doesnt take much to fully set a thin layer of liquid foundation, and the setting mist, pressed into the skin makes it look even more skinlike. If you must set under the eyes, ive found the most translucent of powders to look the best if you have texture. Loose Peach Perfect from too faced, the Wayne Goss powder aparently is very translucent as well. The moment they start adding coverage/color the powders get thick. Picked this all up from kind makeup artists that share their expertise. Like Gloria pelo, Wayne Goss, & Harry Makes it up here in YT.
@@tedoymisojosthank you! I have dry skin but I live in the south where I sweat a LOT and I wear a super thick moisturizer so it really combats my dry skin. I wish I could use the fit me powder but their shade range actually SUCKS. There’s more but I just can’t remember them, but what do you think?
You can control oil with Skincare. I have the type of skin that you can fry an egg on but I found a routine that controls all my oils. Try the isntree green tea fresh toner and a mattifying moisturizer or just the spf that works for you. I swear that product saved my oily mess
Mac blot pressed powder, covergirl clean pressed powder or Maybelline fit me pressed powder are really good for touch-ups on oily areas even if don't wear foundation.
The good news is- drugstore brands have upped their game soooo much in the last 10 years or so. I just ordered 6 different mattifying moisturizers on ebay to see what works for me. I'm then going to try the Covergirl clean matte powder on top. I'm old, oily, sensitive but not acne prone. Good luck!!!
