personally i thin pouring the cereal first makes more sense as it lets you determine how much milk you need to submerge the cereal, while doing milk first doesn't let you do that and may make you unintentionally limit your cereal

the milk and cereal segment was the greatest piece of youtube entertainment i have ever watched. maybe it's because it's 6:30am and i haven't slept yet, but i am literally laughing so hard that i'm not only crying, but my throat is hoarse and my dog has been staring at me for like 5 minutes now and seems incredibly worried

The cereal myth is the dumbest one, yet somehow the most important.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned in the comments but - part of why you soak beans isn't for softness, but water leeches out common 'antinutrients' like lectins and phytic acid - which you can then dump and rinse, leaving the nutrients in the beans way more accessible biologically.
Ah so that's why my mum told me beans were poisonous if you don't soak them. I kinda assumed she was just completely wrong.

As a NC man, it was nothing like Eastern Carolina pulled pork, which is the style of NC bbq Rhett and myself prefer. Theirs was more like Lexington style which I'm not a big fan of.
I dont even eat meat anymore, but as a life long North Carolina resident that upset me deeply.
Liquid smoke is literally that: you generate smoke in a humid environment and collect the resulting liquid. Everything that creates a smoky flavor is captured in liquid smoke. There's still a difference between liquid smoke and using a smoker, but it's really subtle and when you're using a barbecue sauce on your pulled pork, as you should be, it's mostly lost.

Also Liquid Smoke is a byproduct of Charcoal production. Whoever thought of this first literally made money out of thick air xD

I love how Vianai progressively took bigger bites as they both ate the pork sandwich at the same time. Only for Vianai to understand Lily point of view of toppings falling into her mouth on the last bite. Plus I admire how Trevor told story of sea monkey research only for josh to use it for interlude to discuss sea monkey life.
I do have to say, Life cereal is my favorite, but it gets soggy sooooooooo fast. I always bring the box to the table with me, fill the bowl with milk and put cereal in every once and a while to keep it crunchy. Milk first does work sometimes. 😊

As someone that is mildly sensitive to lactose that does not have a lot of self control when im shoveling down the goodies, going milk first is a good way to limit the intake of substances that would accelerate the proof of my weak digestive system.
Besides, its more convenient to get optimum crunch when you add cereal into the milk while you eat. The other systems results in soggy slop at some point if you take your time.
I was wondering if anyone else did something like this. I don't have a lactose problem, but I do something similar. I don't like soggy cereal at all. So, I pour milk, and take the box of cereal with me, and then I pour enough cereal for a few bites, and eat them as quickly as possible. I repeat this until there isn't enough milk anymore, or I'm satisfied and then finish the milk. Sometimes there is still a little soggy, but not too much. Although I can end up eating too much this way too, but i try not to eat cereal too often either. Sorry about your lactose problem, but I hope you get to enjoy as much as possible your way.

For the "bean myth", my Grandma was (I thought) being silly and told me that you soak the beans in order to soak the farts out. I tell you that it is, indeed, a fact because I tried it both ways. I was taught to rinse my beans over and over in cold water and pick over them and get the rocks out. I'm poor and buy cheap beans in a bag. They're beans. Add your, water/stock, a good ol' ham hock/cubes of ham, s&p, cook them down and eat. Add onions if you like.
God please rest my beloved Grandparents souls.

Milk first! Crunchy cereal is king. Fill the bowl 3/4 full of milk, then sprinkle that cereal over the top, but only a few bites worth. That way, you can continue adding fresh cereal for maximum crunchiness!

the casual way josh calls out jokes about someone being a “psychopath” for doing something slightly uncommon or weird was So out of left-field it was honestly funnier than the usual chaos of the episode
I don’t know if the mythical team will ever see this, but I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and I would love to see some like gluten free content, or even busting gluten free myths 😅
For dry skin the teick is (at least for me) to moisturize, wait a little and THEN slap something fatty/oily on top to keep that sweet sweet moisture inside. Also using gentle soaps to strip my skin less of the natural oils.

Another day, another video of seeing Josh's hair slowly transform him into a 1920s pugilist.
Just for the record, soaked or unsoaked please do not eat uncooked beans, they contain lectins which can be toxic in high doses. Soaking beans also helps with denaturing these toxins and, as you discovered, basically halves the cooking time.
there is absolutely 0 risk in eating a handful of raw beans, you’d have to inhale like a bag of them for it to even make you sick. tomatoes and peppers contain lectins too.
Unfortunately, I totally figured out about not soaking the beans the hard way 😅 never again! I tend to default to canned because I am lazy🤣

for the record. I pour milk, put the milk away. Grab my bowl spoon and cereal and sit down. You pour a thin layer of cereal and soak and eat that and add more cereal as necessary until you’re done. It’s not sitting for minutes

I use a fourth option with the cereals. First milk in the bowl, then the cereal in several smaller batches as I eat. I really dislike soggy cereal.

The only reason to pour your milk first is so you can pour your cereal in batches. Pour a little, eat it at peak crunchiness. Then pour a little more and eat. Repeat until milk is gone. Never a soggy bite.

The cereal thing is less about soggyness and more about being able to pour the ideal amount of milk and cereal ratio since pouring cereal on milk can lead to it floating on top and leading to situations of you having way too much milk or a layer of dry cereal when you're done.
