I’m a little surprised Rhett’s never had a cut up, pan-fried hot dog! I grew up with it mostly as a breakfast food, along with fried bologna. I always thought it was from the Southern influence in my family, but maybe it was the Midwestern part.
I was about to post that those hot dog pieces looked like what my mom used to cook for us when she didn't want to do a big meal. Cut up hot dogs in the skillet cooked in bbq sauce. And yes, from the south.
Yup Midwest thing. Still make them today.
As a teen I used to cut them into coins and microwave them. Delicious crispy edges. I imagine the pan is even better.
i don't think it's regional. i'm in western canada and grew up frying hotdog coins. i think it's just a thing smart people catch on to ;)

I grew up in the 80s to a single mom who had 4 kids, we struggled, we never had food. Sometimes my mom had to fry flour or just whatever we had in the cabinet. I know the real struggle foods.
We would go to my aunt Frans house,she had 4 kids and the only thing we ate was Mac and Cheese with a couple hotdogs chopped up in it 😂.. everyday 😂for weeks 😂,now that’s struggle
Yup, as the oldest of three to a single mom growing up, we had dollar store Mac n Cheese and top ramen ALOT 😂

My struggle meals seem to always involve saltines, usually stale af. And either a can of tuna, or I'd mix peanut butter and jelly in a bowl. Then I'd just go to town putting it on the saltines til I was full

Mine is a package of Birds Eye Steamfresh Southwest rice and chicken nuggets with hot sauce 😂 it literally takes barely 10 min and it’s great since I don’t have to cook the rice 😂
Papa John's Garlic Sauce totally does elevate steamed broccoli and other veggies... steam em even from frozen, zap and pour your garlic sauce, it just hits so good!
