Had to pop in the comments right away to tell you that your music taste is amazing! Going to finish the video now to explore more info on building my XJ into a overlanding rig.
I have a 96 ZJ (268k) with a similar cocept, slept in it for a full year (at 69 years old) traveled across the US multiple times and definitely understand (and like) much of your reasoning. Best thing you have (besides a great attitude) is Grampa's knives (just because) AND that Constitution! It may just be your most valuable tool. Hang tough, EXPLORE, and keep up the good work, appreciate the vid.
I've had my setup in for a couple years now. Just a Rubbermaid container and a base made out of old pallet wood and memory foam. Might borrow your idea and replace the container with a small drawer lol
I have almost all the same old cassette tapes. My 99 Cherokee daily driver has more stuff in it than you do 🙂 All organized in containers of course. I once did what you're doing in an 86 CJ-7. Good times. What's good is you can easily rearrange everything anytime you want.
I love it... you sincerely have thought of everything feasible in that space. I drive the same Jeep for my "getting around town" vehicle. It is my favorite car I've ever owned. People are always begging me to sell it to them. Mine is 5 speed and gets me through the tightest spots... lol. My son just got a newer one and we were talking about going camping in our Jeeps. Your videos came up so I SUBSCRIBED. I appreciate everything you have done here and all of the thought you have put into so many things! ❤❤❤ God be with you brother!!
Love the video and helps me 110%. I have same rig except mine is 5 speed not auto. Been lookin for an Eco van to build out but am now cosidering the jeep. Ive had her since the beginning so 1 owner and she is great. Thanks for the info.
If you can spending the money on some ceramic window tint, it would go a long way in temp control and light control. It's one of those upgrades you don't think about until you have it. Then it goes to the top of your list afterwards.
Hey, do you have a link to the trim clips u use for the cargo mesh? I just got the same one for my Xj and need to space out attachment points better. Thanks for the inspiration!
Just search up car roof tie down clips or something like that and it looks like there’s some similar ones. Mine came with one of those rooftop cargo bags
How tall are u cuz im about to do this to my grand cherokee but im 6'1 and I think I'm gonna have to do that extension on a hinge thing to my bed. I haven't started yet just guessing
Hows it been going? First looked at this video 8 months ago, stiill havent done anything, been considering a van but after watching this im gonna have to keep the xj
@@willhodgson4853 good man thanks for asking. Unfortunately I had to move on from the XJ. I considered a van too! But ended up getting a long bed Toyota Tacoma.
@@JackEtheMan after looking there is some on ebay but theyre right hand front seat forward, which is my drivers seat lol Guess i have to make one myself! Good video
@@JackEtheManthis bracket was the side bit that goes onto the side of the seat you have to swap out? Or was it the bottomed mount that bolts into the floor? Finally about to try and do this sorry for all the questions
@@willhodgson862 it’s the hinge-type one on the side of the seat by the door, the one with the actual latch for the folding seat on it. You might have to take off plastic to get to it. But then just 4 bolts and ur good
It’s a MaxxHaul which I ordered from Amazon. I’m sure it’s a generic product sold under countless different brand names, but it works for my purposes. 150lb capacity and just mounted on the factory crossbars.
I thing it's called ingenuity here in the stastates... make use of the space you have. I think it is fantastic to know people still think for themselves these days and multi-task with tiny space. USA is expensive.
Power to you i lived in my xj for months while i was working away from home. Some of the best sleeps ever

Little Rock and Roll, as you roll over the rocks. Seems like a day of fun to me. And I would definitely like to fix my Jeep up as a weekend getaway.
Love the ingenuity that you put into this!

Nice setup! I have been thinking about doing a camping build out on my XJ. Similar to the build on my suburban.
Jack, the poncho liner is also called a 'woobie' in the Army. Nice build.

good taste in music.....
Love the build! Where did you find the protection flashlight? As a woman looking to be nomadic in the future, every bit of protection is necessary.
Amazon!
@@JackEtheMan epicness! Will have to pick one up on my next order. Thanks so much! 🙏
You need to tint your Windows!
😂 Captain Obvious coming through. 😅
Nice XJ.
Awesome setup, Ive got a '99 and thought about doing the same thing...quick question, are those 30" tires?
They are indeed
Need a how-to video on the seat bracket

No gun?
How did you get the passenger seat to fold forward?
I pulled a bracket off a 2 door Cherokee at a scrap yard. It’s an easy swap

Hello do the rear seats of this jeep fold down flat ?
No, they have to be removed. It’s a bench seat in the back.
We'll done sir. Will be stealing some of these ideas.
Tint your windows lot of thieves out there
Yeah I really ought to…
I have this jeep and I have....... a house also
whats a house
В чем подготовка? Просто свалил вещи в машину
