@@DonVennO I think they're going to have to change it - possibly still broadcast in December for the tradition but have it live streamed too. Now there's way too many channels showing clips and covering the event, the website has a live table. If they want to grow the sport it can't be months behind.
I'm going to try and get the US shows, they're on next month I believe.

*Mitch has had the most insane rookie year ever.*
Disregarding WSM 2022, his first ever international competition (reached the final, ended up in 8th place - and was only brought in as a replacement after Rauno had to pull out, mind you), Mitch has placed on the podium at _every single competition_ he's entered (9 in total), including 3rd at Shaw Classic, 3rd at Rogue Invitational, 1st at Arnold Strongman Classic, and now 1st at World's Strongest Man. He's literally achieved more in a single year, his _first_ year at that, than most top strongmen have their entire careers. This guy is truly special.
Also, I want to add that people have talked a lot about consistency being his forte, but that he doesn't necessarily have any bankers (at the Arnold's, for instance, he didn't win a single event despite winning the overall competition). But I gotta say, after watching this unfold, he seems to be one of the very best, not only in one or two events, but in quite a few.
    In the groups:
    - he won the log ladder
    - he won the deadlift for reps
    - he won the loading race
    - he won the Conan's wheel
    - he came 2nd in the kettlebell toss (didn't need more to secure the group win - only Mateusz had done all 7 kettlebells, and he was already out of the race)
    In the final:
    - he won the deadlift for reps
    - he won the shield carry
    - he won the vehicle pull
    - he won the max dumbbell (tied with Evan)
    - he came 2nd in the Atlas stones (one of three athletes to complete all 5 stones; only 3 seconds slower than Tom, and almost 10 seconds faster than Trey, who I think most would've said is probably the second best stone lifter in the world)
Add to that, that he absolutely smokes everyone in the yoke carry and has mastered the hook grip and the pain that let's him dominate stuff like the Dinnie stone carry (grip, pain, and his generally formidable endurance, of course), I'd say he's more than just 'consistent'. He can go toe to toe with the best of the best in at least a handful of events.
The fact that he's able to dominate everything from moving events to endurance events to explosive events to static events - and has literally no weaknesses - makes him very, very unique.

Hopefully this will light a fire under Tom and we could be seeing the beginnings of a rivalry for the ages. Tom and Mitch are definitely a step ahead everyone else when it comes to WUS. Hooper winning the Arnold just shows he has been in the zone for longer than Tom I think.

Something that came across my mind watching this was the video Brian Shaw had with Evan Singleton and the other US guys, and how in that video Brian honestly looked like the strongest guy, easily. I guess age is the real factor there. It’s one thing when you have the time to rest and have the home team advantage, but being out in the sun and heat, with all these quasi-random events stacked so heavily, youth obviously makes all the difference.
A guy the size of Shaw is always going to be one of the strongest people on the planet, but young guys can recover very quickly, and adapt very easily, whereas us old guys at 35+ can’t.
