One of better brick white wash that I’ve seen. Nice job. Looking to convince my son to do the same on a huge floor to ceiling brick fireplace. I’ll forward this video to him. We’re like you regarding permanent coating brick but a refresh is needed.
Thanks for the video. Even the part that didn't come out the way you wanted was still helpful for someone who wants that look. Or to avoid doing so if they want a different result 👍
Pretty much u can choose how light and dark the brick is . I can go around and smear some bricks only not all bricks to make them stand out and look light
Good video bro. Glad u were honest and upfront about the trial and error. I’m doing mine next weekend and this gave me some ideas to consider. Great job!
I have Chicago brick floors that were previously sealed. They are almost the same color as my kitchen cabinets as is. I want to lighten the brick floors and thought that white washing be a good idea; however was told that because the bricks were sealed, I could not do a traditional white wash. Any ideas of how I could get a white wash look on a sealed brick floor and it be durable?
I have a similar fire place, but smaller and I have been trying to figure out what to do with it, but I'm not brave enough to whitewash it. Great video Also, my entire house is built with red brick and stone. I know many homes are not built that way anymore, but I live in an older home. Ms. L. Churchill
I'll make everybody's life much easier. Tape and drop cloth off everything, put your whitewash mix in a spray bottle and thank me later. Using a spray bottle takes a small fraction of the time as rollers and brushes and you can easily control your coverage.
“So, to make her happy…” Awww. How sweet.

Really great job and informational! Thank you for sharing this! It will help me with my project. :)
Great job! Didn't you use primer first before applying paint? some videos recommend that
I did not use a primer. I don't think it was needed. The brick is pours enough.
What did you use.?? Paint….grout…what?
I love it!! Was your sponge wet or dry? I want my fireplace to look like that.
It was moist. I was trying to wipe off some paint.
Beautiful
GREAT JOB!
To stressful...less coffee for this guy...made it 6 minutes before I got a headache
I'm dizzy now lol but TFS
Poor guy. When I want to make changes in the home I do it myself, not make my husband do it on his day off.
