Sims 1: Rags to Riches Challenge Desperate for a Shower and Food

I've played three of these with some success, up to the point where they have what a normal Sim starts out with (basic house and objects to survive comfortably on the lot.) My best advice: start with a phone to call for pizza and a recliner for Comfort and Energy. Fun and Social are the biggest drivers of their mood, so initially I kept those at reasonable levels by lots of newspaper reading and socializing with strays. I used the portal to raise Bladder and Hygiene in Magic Town. The unopened box of magic stuff tanks the Room score, so I recommend putting everything except the portal in the Sim's inventory. The first one I played, it literally took me 30 days to get promoted because of the Room score, and once I stashed that stuff away, it was much smoother sailing, until I started having to maintain friendships.
