As V1 owner I really appreciate the free upgrade to v2. Installed it as I watched this video and had a quick play with it and so far really like it. It combining a few things for me into 1, really like the sound and work flow and look forward to incorporating this into my mixes. Nicely done

Just started testing it and I'm absolutely amazed by the new hybrid mode. Until now I've used Flatline 1 running into Fabfilter L2 as my default setup for getting volume in mastering. Now, I'm really considering getting rid of that setup and just running Flatline 2 as the only maximizer. I must say, I'm enjoying all the new options, as right now, you can really shape the sound you're getting out of the maximizer. The "color" knob can change the sound of the whole recording, which is a great addition, as some of the recordings I'm working on, can benefit from less clean/surgical sound.
Not gonna talk much about the "clipper" mode, as that's basically Flatline 1 in an improved GUI. But the "limiter" mode, while I would probably never use that on my mastering chain, I've already experimented a bit with it, and it's shaping up to be my go-to limiter on vocals, to catch the runaway transients created by slow/medium attack compression.
Anyways, Flatline 1 was totally killer. Flatline 2 is an huge improvement over the 1st version. Kudos to the whole Submission Audio team for the amazing work

I thought to myself, "The Ozone AI does a good enough job. I don't need to invest in tools like this and create a custom chain." But something inside me hungered for more. So I did a Save As... and started from scratch. Always start off with Pro-Q 3, taking care of utility moves and problem frequencies. I still used the Ozone 11 plugs, but individually, to taste, using my ears to selectively tailor the songs to their sweet spots. I added the Lindell 902 de-esser in HF mode and blended that in very subtly to fix some harsh little chirps of audio that were getting through. And then finally, Flatline 2. The mixes I got were already clipped pretty hard, so I didn't need to do a lot with it. But I put it in hybrid mode, adjusted everything carefully to the sweet spots, and bam. She's done. Night and day improvement over the AI masters. Fuller, richer, better. Never going back to the lazy way. Thanks for another amazing tool, Submission. And thank you for sharing your passion for mastering with us, Ermin. It inspired me to put the work in. I'm thankful.
You can use Ozone 11 maximizer without the AI. I’d like to see that compared to this as well as Smart Limit and Gold Clip
Ozone maximizer is a tremendously impressive tool that I have a lot of respect for. I've used it since 2009. It functions on a very different principle to static-envelope maximizers.

Plugin looks great! Kudos for making the upgrade from Flatline 1 to 2 for free. One thing I'm missing is the threshold dotted line in the clip mode (from flatline 1) which helps me to see if I'm clipping transients or going too far into the steady state signal. Any chance to add that in an later upgrade? Guess it doesn't make sense in the hybrid mode, but would like to see it come back in the clip mode. I will replace my old L1 limiter on the drum transient/mix control and use this tool in multiple modes for all my needs. Great job!

The Hybrid insert was recorded when I lost 4kg, months later. So you can literally see me shrink midway through the video.
tempting to use hybrid mode, but I like to have Weiss Maximiser in the Side mode between Clipper and Limiter, so how would I do it😁

Absolutely love it! From the GUI to the sound!...Just one question, is there a reason why the Hybrid mode doesn't have the Safe Clip option like the regular Clip mode or Flatline 1?
Absolutely. Hybrid mode doesn't need safe clip!
@@SystematicProductions I was just wondering because in Cubase the little tab on Stereo Out/Mix bus sometimes gets red without Safe Clip even though it never crosses 0dB. So don’t know what that means but I always used Safe Clip to prevent that.
@@jurapuclin If you set the ceiling to -0.03dB, that should no longer be an issue.

One of my favorite artists manages to get absolute flat line and 0db on loudest parts so I learned to mix with celling at 0db although I know that could potentially be problematic with inter-sample peaks when later converting audio to other formats. Does safe clip even mitigate that problem?
the cubase mix bus doesn't go to red in Hybrid Mode if oversampling is disabled so that's good enough for me. No need for Safe Clip :) Cheers!

I trialed it for a week, but it didn't blow me away. Great UI and marketing though - that's all most people need!
Is there a way to change the speed in which the meter responds? Only thing I’m missing from Flatline 1 is the speed of the meter.
But why you guys deleted the threshold line on the scope? That was such a sweet and easiest way to set the threshold level on the graph section

ILOK adds clicks in the background of your audio

No, sign in to your acount then go to the downloads section. Choose Flatline 2 get serial here, and it downloads the new version. It works with your old serial.
