  • This is the last video you ever need to watch on how to drop shot fish for bass. It's nothing but Aaron Martens walking you through the how and why to fish a drop shot and how to approach the fish and the tackle, options and more. It's long but worth 10 minutes of your time to understand how he's had more success with a drop shot than any professional angler in the history of bass fishing.

Tried drop shot for the first time today while I started my week long vacation. Fantastic results 5 hours fishing 8 fish with the largest just over 4 lbs. Used a 6 inch Roboworm FX in peoples worm color, 1/4 ounce drop shot weight 10 lb braid helps with sensitivity on the bite for me personally. Awesome rig, can't wait til tomorrow!

Wow just seeing this out of the box ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

@@greensphinx it's a method on first person shooter called, "drop shotting". You start engaging someone and drop to the ground as you're shooting to throw your opponents aim. When he said," tactical" back in the day before nodded controllers, scufs, and elites it was hard to do this. So people switched to a "tactical" button layout on their controller so they could drop to the drop with their analog stick and still be able to aim at the same time lol

Thanks to this vid and another for showing me how it's done. I got some strikes and then a hook set. If I were able to fish longer today I'm sure I could've gotten more. It was my first time with this rig and it seems I can get some consistent fishing going, not just accidents. And it's always great to see someone catch a fish while giving a tutorial.

Great advise on the pole grip. I really messed up my ring finger after fishing all day with the reel between my fingers. I lost the feeling in my ring finger for a week or more. I try to hold ahead of the reel now. You mentioned that you modified your grip to allow this more comfortably. Do you have a write-up or video on how you did the Mod? Most poles don't leave enough room to grip it ahead of the reel.

It's a Megabass Orochi rod. The stripper guide is designed that way to feed the line more smoothly into the next guide. When line is coming off a spinning reel it is uncoiling violently and they designed the guide to taper the coils smoothly from guide to guide. Martens swears by it.
