Darren is an honest family man who has guts that not many people could withstand. My own family come from the building and civil engineering industry. Horses have always attracted the building fraternity and why not ? His money is hard earned and along with his wife, who he continually acknowledges, has been successful. Dan Skelton is an up and coming young trainer who has the dna inscribed in his genome and is just a natural. His family are steeped in horses and his attitude and social skills are a joy to experience. What impresses me most about Darren is his straight talking and the love he has for his family which then extends into his sporting and business life. Racing is fortunate to have him on board and let's acclaim his successes and wish him many more racing days out. Don't forget Ballybrit in the west of Ireland where there's always a welcome for proper owners and hearty celebration.
To -day I watched one of the most honest people I Have every seen in My life, down to earth, a hard working family man, not afraid to speak His mind ,and is quite willing to remind people what he does with His hard earned money is upto Him, they can all have a point of view, but thier point of view wont matter at all, because HE has His own thoughts, if anybody wants to buy an object let them, if He wants to buy a horse thats His business, He has My admiration, and if God spares me I will also cheer His horse home @ Aintree, good luck for the future Son
It's very clear why he is not liked. He is not from a 'horsey' background. He's a newcomer. He speaks with an accent that Colonel Tristan-de-la- Fontywomble will struggle to understand. He has a manual trade. He fell out with Osborne (Osborne, remember, is/was a well-known cheat). I don't see what the issue is. And listen to him talk about how he looks after the horses. Does anyone really think that any of his animals would have ended up in that Panorama programme?
Darren actually Comes across really well tbf, too often in UK we love to pick at people negatives instead of praise for there positives. You heard him too even horses retired he tried to find them a good home …. Time people lay off Darren’s back.
Best of luck to Darren , straight talking ,puts his money down , likes a bet , can choose who trains his horses he pays the bills , regards from co clare , punting tony ,
He's the owner do whatever he wants. I'm skint can't even afford to heat my house. I'm not jealous or envious of the man spending 600k on horses. Goodluck to them hopefully they get plenty of winners.
Betting is finished now I have 3 accounts and everyone have made me put a deposit limit on William hill have chose how much I can have a month which is £35 and am not aloud any promotions like scratch of day don’t no what’s matter we them been with them 10 + years

When you put your money where your mouth is you deserve a bit of success hardest game in the world to make money at and you can tell he is in it for the buzz and not the money
I really liked Darren but do have concerns on his being happy with H. Skelton as his jockey. To me Cobden, Burke, S. Bowen or JJO Jnr are worth 5 ibs in comparison.
Come across really well here, not sure why he took abuse for spending his own money on horses - he is just like us who dreams about owning a top class horse. Wish him all the best
Such an honest and down to earth guy. All the best for future success Darren and I hope you get that National winner 🐎
Good luck to him. He’s put a lot into the game, deserves success.

The racing elite will always look down there nose at Darren, that's the way it is, to Darren I wish him every success, and very good health.
It probably is not really like that in NH racing.
Good on you mate keep giving it a go

Nick luck is a fantastic interviewer and this show is class
Says a lot about national hunt racing . Down to earth people unlike the snobbery of the elitist flat
