A tour de force! I enjoyed it very much. I may not have recognized many of these wonderful paintings as de Kooning's work. Now I have even more to enjoy. Thank you.🖼🧩🤔😒🙄😏👏

It is also a very interesting investigation of form changing every moment, using line and no line, texture and transparency, sharpness and softness to show layers and dimensions of ways of experiencing- and all the time each painting has its own rhythm and tonality as a vibrational song of the now - it is truly amazing and this simple way of showing his works makes it possible to stop and take in an image for a longer time feeling the vibrational power - Thank you for the showing of these great works

I appreciate very much that you show such a big collections of his paintings. Its absolutely interesting for anyone interested in his art. And I agree that it would also have been interesting to have the title of the work and the year...

Especially the year. I love it but it jumps back and forth across decades and it would be good to have a better idea.

And it is also very eyeopening to see the way He works around figuration, imagination and total abstraction. His use of colour always seen very interesting and changes from very dynamic and wild to more lyric and poetic tones. He is a wonderfull painter -

It’s strange to see his works that are not well known some of them were before Basquiat, or were they after?, And other ones were like Gorky, and so he was also being derivative but that doesn’t matter artist always borrow and learn from other artists… And he’s not what you call an abstract painter he paints something from real life any abstracts it it’s not just random Mark making like some people think… People put out videos how to paint abstract art… It’s not just putting fields of color randomly and then putting marks here in there just to make a pretty decoration… That’s not what it is… Everything is planned, everything is thought about and placed in a composition, not random pouring it out of a bucket and spitting it around… Not just choosing random colors and hoping it looks good and making marks here and there… It’s not just about the brushstrokes and thick paint… Some people use a spatula to put paint onto a canvas that’s not better art that’s not meaningful… That’s a waste of paint…… Even though de Kooning had some thicker painting, it wasn’t about the thickness of the paint it was about the colors and what happens when you blend the oil colors together it creates different streaks of color… And all those people putting up videos on “how to paint abstract art quote… Seriously, that’s ridiculous… Especially the ones who aren’t even talented

Very perceptive. Actually it's by me, Lucy Godwin!!!!! Seriously. www.lucygodwinart.com . I painted it after taking a course through MoMA in Abstract Expressionism some years ago. So obviously whoever made this video is not a trained art critic, but thanks for the exposure. And thanks very much for the Basquiat comment as Basquiat is one of my gods.

What a sad comment but hey that’s your opinion.. and sadly I think you missed what he was capable of doing… His vision, his style of artwork was so different at the time but in a great way… What he did was real abstract art not just random mark making what people do today, FaceTime it’s OK to pour paint onto a canvas or make random marks and choose random colors just to make it look interesting… Which is not hard… Nor abstract… It’s just bullshit but I guess somebody who thinks Basquiat was wasting paint doesn’t know anything about anything… Especially art or painting
