Have you shot street in a small town or do you prefer the big city?

Two different types. Completely. In BC all you have to do is to plow the crowd, the content will keep on jumping on you as long as your mind is open. People see you, but BC type living is not something which triggers pictures taking as alert. I'm talking about Toronto DT core and anywhere with crowds. Small town is completely different. Milton, where I'm isn't really ST by population, but you barely see people walking anywhere most of the time. I have to wait for events to see some people on the streets. So, during regular day it is more dictating for composition, light, yada-yada to fill in the absence of content creators (people). And people are getting much more alert on camera presence in ST. Or anywhere it is not so many people on the street. I used to walk streets of Hamilton with camera. Was asked why taking pictures of the streets, followed by people suspecting I'm into something else... To be honest, the only BC type of photography to practice here are Montreal, Toronto DT core and some places in Vancouver. Before COVID changed our lives, I was thinking of jumping on 50 CAD bus to NYC overnight. This is where BC street photography is...

I have no real preference I'll shoot where ever I find my self. However I really do want to make my way to the Route 66 on the West Cost at some point and small town it there. Dope work Bruh!!!!

I like the small town experience with the sense of slower time, more space, quiet color, more time to ease into a photo moment. I can handle small doses of the big city experience with the heart attack pace, onslaught of color, crush of people and buildings, and missing many moments from all the distraction and chaos. I prefer city photography in the morning, while the light is heaven, the air is fresh, and most of the bees are in their hive. Really great video and images Taha! Your newsletter is awesome, too!

@@kostyafedot551 As always, Kostya, you hit the nail on the head. Ppl these days think anyone with a camera is up to no good which makes no sense. If I were causing problems I wouldn't have a camera around my neck . smh.. Anyway, Big city gives you immediate results and, you're right ST will take a lot longer to catch something you love. BUT, I think that's where I'm headed, a slower process to create moments. Having kids reminds you of how precious time is and I just do not have a lot of time on my side these days. I shoot when I can and I'm getting better at it all.
Thanks again for taking in the vid, it's always nice to hear from you. Hope you can come to one of my next meet ups.

@@mgyoungphotography7753 I had a feeling that you adapt well in any setting, your work shows that. Classic route 66 has inspo written all over it, seems like a road trip most photgraphers take at some point. What has been your favourite city to shoot in in the US?
