Hi!
My name is Justin and I have my managed my family's business (S&K Greenhouse) for the last 10 years! It is a local garden center in Shelby, NC that my family started around 25 years ago.
We have a strong desire to discuss and teach gardening to the online community and welcome anyone who wants to learn. Though we have been involved in the plant world for decades we have found that there is always something to learn when it comes to gardening.
Whether you are a master gardener or just starting out this channel is for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our videos! - Навчання та стиль
Hey everybody! I started a raised garden bed company, Gro-Rite! My first product is a beautiful raised garden bed you can assemble in 10 minutes or less. Claim your bed before they are gone - pre-orders are piling up fast and quantities are limited. -> groritegarden.com/launch
Anything that weeps. Last year I bought a Falling Waters Bald Cypress (Dr. Seuss tree) and I just purchased a Weeping Pussy Willow. I'm obsessed with the growth habits of these trees. Love your videos, thank you.
That Weeping Alaska Cedar. I love all those weeping conifers.
Colorado blue spruce but, we never have any luck getting them to grow.
All of the Blue Spruces!! And the forever goldy!!! We are going to come visit you from Pinehurst someday!!!
I love the blues and the weeping form, so the weeping blues make this plant person super happy.
I really appreciate how you include pictures of the plants too thanks sooooo much
That is absolutely the best example of a gardening video I have ever seen.
By showing the mature plant as you discuss the currently available stock really
helps us make informed [smart] purchases. Thank you for all the effort.
These videos have been very helpful for my secret garden obsession. Helped me chose all the best plants with these descriptions.
Those weeping blue spruce are stunning!
JUSTIN THANK GOD YOU'RE BACK! MISSED SEEING YOUR NEW VIDEOS LOL
I appreciate the pictures of the varieties out in the wild so much
I’m soo glad to start seeing your videos again!! Time to start planting again 🙂💕🌸
You guys have the most amazing selection of conifers! So tempted to drive from Raleigh to bring back a carload. 😂
SO WORTH IT!!!!!! ✅
Girl, I have done that. Their prices are sooo much lower than nurseries in Raleigh. We went to visit family in Asheville and ended up driving back with a 6’ thunderhead pine running through the middle of my minivan. 😂
The prices on smaller plants seemed to be around a third of the cost of those in Raleigh too
Watching from Sweden ✌️ Enjoy your content very much. Keep it up 🤙
Skylands was my favourite. Love the videos man keep them coming!
Your knowledge is amazing! I love any conifer that weeps. 😃 zone 8b
Thank you, Mr. Justin, thank you.
Yay your back! Love your videos and really enjoyed the tour of the conifers. Thanks for all the detail and showing the mature specimen. Have a great growing season!
Love the Conifers! Wish I could grow them all!! ❤
It's so funny that you released a conifer video today. I just finished watching all of your Conifer videos just 10 minutes before you released this. 😂 I love your videos. I just subscribed 2 days ago, especially the tours of people's homes. That really gives me some ideas. Too bad you're not located here in Arkansas, but at least you're in my same zone.
Love your trees-wish I lived closer😃
I would like to see more videos about weeping and other unusual conifers that do well in the South and how to take care of them properly. I fell in love with Conifers in the Pacific Northwest and have tried to create a conifer garden in Middle Tennessee and it has been a struggle lol.
Letttssss gooooo!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful evergreens! You’re so low key on this video!!!! Miss your action packed energy! Great video!
Beautiful trees. Love the weeping types 😊. Very good presentation overall.
Best ever.
Wow!! You have all the dwarf conifers and evergreen I like for my project-awesome!! 😊😊😊
Love seeing these varieties. Such a helpful video. I am in zone 5 and found some I’d like to get.
Love the tours. Your knowledge inspires. Your love of plants/trees is evident.
Wow, this video was so helpful. Thank you.
Beautiful. I could watch for an hour. Any Horstmann Blue Atlas? You guys do a great job.
Excellent job! Great to hear about conifers that do well in our warm winters and hot humid summers.
I so wish we had even half of this available in our part of Virginia...
I'm a plant person in Boothbay Harbor Maine zone 6. You have a fabulous selection of trees, I always enjoy your exuberance
nice drop showcase...lots of great dependable landscape picks...the amber glow and related gold rush are deciduous dawn redwoods and water wise are similar to taxodiums...🌲🏆
I’d love to see a video incorporating conifers in a landscape that has essentially none. My house is surrounded by 100% hardwoods with a good deal of landscaping that is almost no conifers, native or ornamental.
We live on the other side of Lincolnton and will be stopping by!
love all the conifer videos you do!! The selection is amazing!!
YA'LL ARE RIDICULOUS!!!!! RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME!! I have Vego beds and LOVE them...highly recommend them BUT the ASSEMBLY is the reason why I haven't bought more! YOU HAVE SOLVED THAT PROBLEM! I just added my info to the VIP wait list to order. THANKS for solving a MASSIVE headache! Can't wait to place my order!
Que variedad de pinos todos hermosos Mil Bendiciones ♥️🙏
I live in PNW Oregon 8b , I have 2 Fat Albert Colorado Spruce they both are doing really well! I have 1 in the front yard and is getting afternoon sun doing great!
Always super enjoyable to watch!
My favorite is the Weeping Bald Cypress. Thank you
Thanks for the great content. I’ve been able to choose and install conifers you taught me about. Great plants in the right places.
I love your videos! Fun, informative, and inspires me to create a beautiful landscape.
Excellent presentation! Thanks so much.
Thanks for toning down your presentation, makes your videos enjoyable to watch. Great information
So excited for spring, love your videos!
Justin! Ohai. You are a great influence on me. When did you change to 8a? I live 4 hours southwest of you guys and when all of our growing zones changed we didn’t think yours did! I love all the trees but I was very impressed by the weeping white!
Cobra is a master piece. Aerial tree. I like it. Living north of Québec City. 3A
I’d love one of each!❤
Me too!
Love your videos they you give so much information!!!
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for all these really informative videos. I live in Kentucky and we have a limited selection at nurseries near me and so I end up ordering a lot online and it helps to know what I'm looking for and love!
So Loveit. I need to find a trailer to haul some back. Cant fit them in my vehicle.
Love our whipcord. We have 2 of them..they are 3 yrs old and look great.
Love the videos and just became a subscriber... im a newbie to the plant world so it would be nice to have time stamped moments to find certain plants so I can come back for the info on the ones I like
I love the weeping white spruce.
Great video, thanks
Please make more videos!
I live in southern California 8b/9a yucaipa and we have alot of blue spruces, fat alberts. Theyre the best to grow
Love the comparison and offerings! Do any of these help resist insects? Looking to add a few options near our front porch area to decrease flying insects
Please recommend some varieties of the deer-resistant shrubs!
I love your videos, I sure wish you wld do more! Question, I’m in zone 4 and I have deer issues. But I have a wood line that is slowly clearing from oak wilt. I’d like to plant a screen across my property that’s in the woods to hide from the neighbors that I’m stating to see. Dapple sun, any suggestions?
I’m trying to find an evergreen tree or bush to plant as a tall hedge to block streets. I want to plant them to actually form a wall.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m in zone 7b - 8 central NC.
Can you give some shrub options that stay fairly round and uniform in zone 9 southern louisiana?
Please make a video for those of us who have lost our tall pines and old oak trees in the hurricane (Helene & Idelia). I don’t know what to plant. I think these trees need to be replaced but I don’t know what can resist this weather.
I want it all.....
Is the whipcord cedar deer resistant or deer candy? Love the texture.
Great video Justin! If you had to plant a conifer in a small space (tree can't exceed width of 3' max) would you choose a Jantar Arborvitae or a Lemon Cypress? I've had LC on my list for awhile, but the JA on this video has also caught my eye. I know that a mature Forever Goldie would be too wide. Thanks in advance for your input!! 🤩🌱
Yvonne, Bruce here. In case you don't know me, Justin and I host tours of different landscapes as well as at my place. Which you can see on YT. Where do you live? if you live in our area or a place like us in the hot humid South, definitely go with the Jantar. Lemon Cypress trees hate our humidity and require very specific watering habits. They are sensitive to either over watering or under watering. Most people around here treat them like annuals and grow them in containers during the winter. I've been growing some in containers for three years now and I'm constantly cutting back dead foliage. Never been able to keep them in the ground for over a year. In containers its easier to control the watering but its laborious. And constantly checking the soil for getting them watered at just the right time.
I'm not good with flowers, but can I ask a question I live in near holden beach nc. What zone would that be. We have sandy . I planted stuff but never succeed with anything . Any ideas that are low maintenance
I LOVE CONIFERS…..but I live & do landscaping in Los Angeles and our climate doesnt support most of this, my east coast roots cant shake my love of these…. I’ve been using Mugo Pines as understory to olives and they do ok!
Question friend. Is it a bad idea to plant berry producing plants close to your house as they can attract mice? Also, im enjoying the Morgan arborvitae, which i learned about it from you.
I love the Weeping White Spruce. I'm in zone 8A (North Central Texas) so I think it would be okay?
Hi Justin, is there a type of fertilizer that you would recommend or like for newly planted emerald green arbrovites? Planted them last year, they have done great, but now looking a little brown :(. Thanks for help!!! Looking forward to visiting yall soon!
Biotone!
Wish I would be able to know how to plant conifers, I think you don’t actuallyplant them you mound dirt up to them is that correct?
Do all of these require full sun & deer resistant?
They sold the fat Albert in my zone 9a Jacksonville, Florida and I got it. It will be in a big pot for a year or two and will get morning sun. We’ll see how it does, I’m hoping it survives our summer.
They should be fine. That is the only blue spruce I'm aware of that can take your climate zone. And, they do well in containers. I know folks who grow them in containers, large ones, indefinitely. And in your area, that might be the best way. Thanks for letting me butt in. Justin and I do video tours together of my place and others. Which you can see on YT.
Do you ship to GA?

I had a 200 foot white pine. The trimmer guy killed it, after telling me he was just pruning it. 💔
😢
I feel like this video is missing a touch of the "Justin energy" . Still great video!
