I agree. But unfortunately from what I can tell he's not a fan of maps with bigger fields. As much as I love this map I feel like it's only going to last maybe 10-15 episodes
just some info from a Canadian and Saskatchewan grain Farm worker here, The big yellow auger with the swingout is for loading the big bins, the smaller Red auger goes underneath the little tiny auger which sticks out at the bottom of the big bins to empty the bin in to the trailer
Linen is considered a premium fabric, it's a heavy, somewhat tougher fabric but definitely not itchy. Flax is also a very common material to make ropes from, along with hemp.
Linen is ideal summer wear, its cooler than cotton. Only disadvantage, it crincles like crazy, if you sit for too long, you need to iron your clothes to get it straight again.
@@Kate_Fyria Same! I was like, have you never heard of linnen or played a historical city builder game. Flax -> linnen is pretty much in every one of em'
everyone who says "you're starting with too much money" has clearly never played on a 4x american map lol, you need so much money (but you also make a ton of money) really stoked for you to play this map, it's fantastic!
Amazing map choice, Daggerwin. I did a 50-episode series on this map, and a lot of viewers were upset when I finished the series, its a great map to watch. This is one of my favourite maps ive ever played 😀
"Linen is a flax-based textile that is predominantly used for homeware applications. While linen is similar to cotton, it is made from fibers derived from the stems of the flax plant instead of the bolls that grow around cotton seeds." Humans have been growing it to make food & clothes from for a very long time. Linseed oil might have been a bit of a giveaway too
I really enjoy the relaxed pacing of this video, don't worry about thinking that you're talking or rambling too much! its why I watch, to listen about what you're thinking or other topics. 😀😀
Excellent choice Daggerwin, even though I chaose something else. Dare we hope that CoursePlay will finally be seen. These fields were created for Course Play. 🙂
You should get the swather mod. It works for crops like flax, wheat and oats. There is also a mod for a conveyor you can drive over to unload into the bins🙂
Just remember to take advantage of the shiftable swath. You can do double swathes which will speed up the harvesting process. Also pick harvesting is awesome from first person view. BC Bueler, the creators of this map also built a drive over auger, or conveyor belt. That would speed up the unloading process too. I was born and raised on a Saskatchewan farm. Hope that helps.😊👍
Welcome to Canada Daggerwin! I’m hoping you do a long series on this map. Also wanted to add that it’s nice to see you playing out of your comfort zone. Trying new things is nice to see.
I believe the red one is to unload the silo and the yellow is to load the silo, tho they should work either way, just the yellow has a bigger reach to load up the silo with. Great video as always 👏
Yay! A new sieres! If you do another vintage sieres could you please include some items from North America like International Harvester/Farmall, J.I. Case and Allis-Chalmers?
I would recommend getting the drive over belly dump auger, so you don’t have to constantly be swinging the gate on the larger yellow auger. it’s a mod by BC Buehler and it’s soaring Eagle brand. Works awesome.
you need to put the auger the other way around to get the stuff out of the silo again which is why you start with 2 to make it easier (one for loading and one for emptying the silo)
I've always thought the square balers look like a dog doing its business. It's even worse with the flax. 😂Jokes aside, it'll be nice to see some new crops in this series.
Can we make a no renting rule for this series? The renting really got out of hand on krumbach, renting machinery every episode just to return it 5 minutes later
Im pretty sure that front loader is for a massey fergison that ( from when i last played the map) you are ment to start off with. Great work on all of your serires im loving them all.
This map looks reeeally Canadian. Maybe it's in Saskatchewan or Alberta? Out here in Alberta we'd call that rounded steel building a Quonset (kWan-sit) and then maybe you'd call the white one a Shed, Shop or Garage? Depending on what you were doing with it.
Not just historically. I have a linen shirt on right now, and I have some linen pants in my closet. Super comfortable in summer, like, the best clothing I have for the summer. Linen is known for it's wicking properties, and pulls moisture away from your skin leaving you feeling dry and cool better than any other fabric.
When he went to the store to get the baler, it looked like on the map there was another vehicle or something just behind the dealership. I wonder if that may be it.
A new series?!?!?! Wooooo! please make it your longest ever series, if you do i will give you one quid 😅 thats all i can afford after buying my joysticks and wheel set
This is a standard sized map. You should get an m7 Kubota. It is realistic for the area. Please don't change the combine because that one is the perfect size and get the swathing pack. You get 20% extra yield. You will also need a pick-up header if you swath. that combine you start with is not base game but a mod.
SAve your sanity Dagger and use Courseplay on these fields while you do other things (easier in the future when you have much going on) also use the send driver function to things like the shop or sell points. unless you love driving i can imagine this is alot of real time for you.
Please do not get rid of the waterways. You should get the existing cattle farm and get angus cows because it would be so realistic. I think productions will take away from the series a lot so just doing cash crop and beef cattle would be the most realistic.
Hi Daggerwin, I love your channel and you show all kinds of maps. Did you also download the mods mentioned on the FS22 mod page? I'm thinking about playing along with you.
There is a mod for a belt you can drive over with the semi that unloads into the auger (and yes I’m American) though I haven’t used it because I’m either using gravity wagons or a grain truck
Also I recommend a mod to replace that 4wd with a Steiger mod which the actual tractors are very cheap but with 300+ hp keep in mind they are a bright green color
If you choose to swath your crops, just remember to take advantage of the shiftable swath. You can do double swathes which will speed up the harvesting process. Just in case anyone is interested, Giants Software's founders did a talk last year at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) about the history and challenges of making the Farming Simulator franchise, which just got released on youtube. ua-cam.com/video/RspwD7uVRDE/v-deo.html It's not the liveliest presentation ever, but it is really informative, and not too technical about the coding.
That setup is default to the map? That's weird, my game didn't have the Rostelmash, but instead, it had a Massey Ferguson 3670 that matched up with the front loader. Very weird.... Edit... Even weirder... Just tried starting a brand new game in an empty slot to refresh my memory on what this map had... And, I see the same John Deere, the Rostelmash, and the MF3670.... I seriously don't remember the Rostelmash being on my original game at the start....
You may have to remove the extended straw mod because I heard it can cause issues with the different crop straw rows and also there is a seperate farm for cows it’s between the starter farm and the store
Please don’t rush this series! Your videos are much more entertaining when you’re clearly enjoying the game.

Bin to trailer red?

also the 20% bonus when swathing crops. Also can swath Canola

Pretty good start. Looking forward to more on the great map.

Glad you've started a lets play on this I personally have had a good time on this map I hope you will too.
Go with a versatile tractor. They're made in Manitoba, the province beside Saskatchewan.
Go riders!
That would be very realistic along with some Mandako tillage equipment and rollers.
Go drink another Pilsner! Lol@@QuiveryPine
Nice opening view of the farm house
Too Good Exited For This Series 😊❤

Excited for this series!!
I didn't expect this map ❤ love'n it keep it up

I second this, saves a lot of headache, especially with belly dump trailers
This map is insanely accurate too.
So cool to see you playing on a semi-local map. I feel like you should switch to $ and metric though lol
Yay a new series
Keep in mind. Typically that would actually be swathed before the harvester is brought in. I believe you get a yield bonus for swathing
20 percent increase in yield in this map if you swath first.
you need to put the auger the other way around to get the stuff out of the silo again which is why you start with 2 to make it easier (one for loading and one for emptying the silo)
I imagine the flax fabric would be worth considerably more than using the straw as filler in TMR.
Loving this map!
great to see you on this map.closest to an american map yet.
I've always thought the square balers look like a dog doing its business. It's even worse with the flax. 😂Jokes aside, it'll be nice to see some new crops in this series.
I use course play on edge water all the time. Definitely recommend it for this map!
Anxious to see how he is with big fields

Looks a great map I do like the US maps and bigger countries as a native of UK I am used to smaller English maps the scale difference is unreal
John Deere X9 is the biggest combine in the game header wise, you should get that one and you'll be set for the series!
When I first saw this map it made me think of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. 😄
Amazing mate
The trailers are called hopper bottoms and play more realistic
As you said flax is just another name for linseed. The straw of it can be used to create fine fibers for making a cloth called linen..
When you swing out the yellow auger it can then flatten and you can drive your trailer over it to unload in to the bin.
Moss Valley is a map you need to try in a series
Just for realism purpouses you could switch out the rostemash for the early 2000s versatile 4WD tractor mod
The tractor for the Front Loader should be a MF 3670
Hell yeah more American maps!
Im pretty sure that front loader is for a massey fergison that ( from when i last played the map) you are ment to start off with. Great work on all of your serires im loving them all.

It is a Saskatchewan map. The modders did a great job!
@@NickVanRooyen Yeah, they nailed it. Feels like home. :)
Actually, flax on it own is, or was, used on its own to make Linen fabric... historically, yes it was worn.

Linen is known for it's wicking properties, and pulls moisture away from your skin leaving you feeling dry and cool better than any other fabric.
You appear to be missing one of the starting tractors that utilises that front loader!

Hey If You want to do it more realistic It's a good idea to buy low loader on this map and use truck for transport machinery.
great map workers struggle a bit though
If it is up for Vote, i say get autoloaders/stackers for this Farm. With Fields this Size, manual Loading on your own is just to much
I say no bales or silage pits for the whole series
yes to autoloaders for production pallets to it gets old fast watching you use superstrength to load pallets.
hi Daggerwin, im from New Zealand and here flax is known as flax or (harakeke) is a plant not a crop here.
You should try a CaseIH Optum AFS Connect mod. As a good mid power tractor.
I hope you pay attention to used vehicle sales everytime you fast forward to next month.

Same there I thought the same too
saying lori is fine it is more of a west cost BC thing but Saskatchewan dose use it as well depending on the driver

Just make sure the autobuy option for the worker is off. see it dropping during the timeplasess
Daggerwin starting a non-poverty series. Wow

@Kederk Farms did the best most incredible series on this map.
Realy good. Can u plz make a list of all the mods u use?
Flax is used to make the fabric known as linen, which is one of the oldest fabrics known to mankind
I've used them on Texas map, don't care for them fiddly and slow, sold the silos and augers and bought multifruit moded silos😊
Haha the only Edgewater I know is big in the tuna or to be more precise Saltuna business for the Spacer's Choice Corporation :P
Get the "follow me" mod so you can bale behind the harvester.
Could the other map/series be on Pallegney, please please, pretty please? 😀It looks amazing and might suit your playstyle.
It would be nice to buy an older American style combine. Like a john deere 9870.
A 9610 would be perfect.
It looks like there was two pieces of equipment near the store.

Wow, the flax seed is worth so much that it's another soybean but drops straw, even better
Use of yellow when to put the grain into the siloand do red to load the truck
