  • Unleash the Power: Wado Ryu, The Harmonious Way School of Karate
Hey everyone, it's Tim here! Today I'm bringing you an exciting video on the art of Wado Ryu karate. This unique style of karate is focused on tai sabaki, or "body management," which involves using movement to evade and redirect attacks. With its emphasis on body control and harmony, Wado Ryu is a hybrid of Shindō Yoshin-ryu jujutsu and Okinawan karate. In this video, I take you through the katas of Wadō-ryū, which are an essential aspect of the style and provide practitioners with a comprehensive training in self-defense techniques. Whether you're a seasoned martial artist or just starting out, this video is packed with information that will help you develop your skills and improve your ability to respond to any self-defense situation.
So what are you waiting for? Check out the video now and see for yourself why Wado Ryu is such a unique and dynamic style of karate. Wado was my favourite martial art of the ones I've trained in over the last 40 years. BTW- Otsuka is pronounced "oh-tska". My father in law is Japanese and he corrected me on this pronunciation years ago. :)

I am 6,4 and i have a stocky build. Want to do karate and theres a school nearby that teaches wado ryu style, but since i heard its more about agility than brute strength i am unsure if its right for me.

Great video, thank you. I'm interested in how to limit trolling comments on videos. I see this has 4.5k views and 10 comments. Do you monitor comments carefully?

I do monitor it carefully, but I also imagine my videos do not provoke many comments 😅

not in the UK anymore . many wado dojos are not using authentic wado ryu .more interested in giving courses that means learning fake wado .including the Academy and their associations in the midland ..

Somewhere on the path, some may stray… makes it difficult sometimes to see which road is actually correct, and if there’s even a correct one 🤔

@nonenone1106 I have to agree! They are still around but very, very, very rare! Almost extinct! You’d be lucky to find one these days.

I would advise looking up Shikukai Karate Do, highly authentic Wado Ryu taught by Sugasawa Sensei. I've been privileged to train under Sugasawa Sensei for many years
