I normally don't comment, but this song is my personal favourite of rafi sahab. This song gives me goosebumps every time. Agar kabhi marte waqt meri aakhri khwaish maangi gayi toh beshak is gaane ko aakhri baar sun na chahunga. Sabhi shrotaon se niveden hai ki kripya kisi bhi kalaakar ko aap kisi se tulna na kare kyunki wo sab bahut mahaan kalaakar the aur hamare muh se unke liye apshabd kehna bahut galat baat hai. Agar aap sirf comparison karte rahoge toh kabhi bhi sab kalaakaron ke gaano ka lutf nahi utha paoge.

That bit “Chali aaa” with it’s exponential pitch sets Rafi apart from others. Rafi never screamed, he simply raised his throw . One can sense that at the end his song Tune mera yaar na milaya from Shama Parwana ..the part where he says Mujhe is jahaan se uthaaaaa. and the last stanza of Jaane kya dhoondti hai ye aankhen mujhmeinfrom Shola aur Shabnam.
In this one, I wish Premnath’s expressions on that note had done some justice to Rafi’s higher pitch. Premnath seems to be opening his mouth for a morsel of food rather than a Lalkaar like Chalee Aaaaa.
