As someone who grew up with the Pokémon games in german it's wild to me that they have such different names in english 😭
yeah, same man, it feels really weird
yea i thought at least the ones like abra and kadabra would stay the same
@@lindaraab4626 Kadabra is actually just called Uri Geller in Japanese.
I am in this weird limbo where I know some pokemon only in German, some only in English as I started following more English and less German pop culture as I got older and the newest generations I don't know at all because I am too poor to afford pokemon games or the appropriate consoles (yay to being a broke student)
Same!
A fun drawing prompt would be to draw pokemon as Julia style adult men.
the dislikes are people who won't stand this shuckle slander
They're lucky I love them so much because that shuckle abuse hurt
Don't fuckle with shuckle
some things r difficult to look past...
i forget shuckle exists
@@felixtea reported for hate speech
Julia saying extremely little while drawing Kleinstein and then finishing and just going "KLEINSTEIN" out of nowhere after the "print it out and tape it to your beer" rambling... absolutely destroyed me i cannot describe how hard im laughing
Julia's Kleinstein is one of those Pokemon where if no matter if it's smaller or bigger, it's very disconcerting to look at when comparing it to a normal human
Please do an episode of "I swear, it's not Skimbleshanks!" For each host, (accurately) describe a person or character that is not Skimbleshanks, but in a way that leads each artist to essentially draw Skimbleshanks.
I never thought that Julia's "Poke-Men" would be boyfriend material, but oh my heck I have an instant crush on Kleinstein. Not even the slightest bit disappointed that he's not horrible.
Dare I say... I'm *thirsty* for this man.
Hah i liked that one
I want everyone to know that Cramorant's Japanese name is "U'u" Yes, its two U's with a stuttering kind of sound in between. It's meant to sound like you're choking when you say it.
Do you have to cough at the end or is that just putting extra panache on it
it's the same with the german Name "Urgl".
@@devent10n It's the same sound as the one between the syllables of "uh-oh." The technical linguistic term for it is "glottal stop."
same with the german name. "urgl" is choking sound.
Drawfee: "Drawing Pokemon based on their german names"
me: "Uhhhh that sounds cool!"
First pokemon: "Urgl"
me, a german who played every Pokemon except Sword & Shield (and only the first half of sun & moon): "Excuse me?"
same 😂
Yup same!
I did play the whole of Gen 7 but yeah totally skipped gen 8 and I was like "What?"
Hab ich mir auch so gedacht lmao
Ich hatte zwar nur Pokemon Schwarze edition gespielt aber dennoch.
As a German and Drawfee fan, the title alone exites me.🤓
Also here's a suggesto: please draw film noir birds. Crime, rain, trenchcoats...but birds. There's got to be a henne fatale of course. 🐔
Oh and there's gotta be Ducktectives
You cracked the code! We Germans see "German" in the title and immediately get curious and swarm to the video like moths to a lämp
Læmp
What if y’all drew bad ideas? Like, literal bad ideas. Like poking hornets nests or riding a shopping cart down a terribly steep hill.
Oooh!
"Darwin Awards"!
That would be fun 😁
Or down hill cheese chasing
How about multiple bad ideas at once? Riding down a steep hill in a shopping cart trying to pinata a hornets nest out a tree?
steep hill or flight of stairs?
suggestion: draw Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy's character based on their names/book descriptions
I just want to see u draw a fuckin towel and be done with it
there's no Guide character that's just a towel, tho. There IS a Guide character that's just a mattress.
Yes! Vogon :-)
@@devanbrowne8706 and a flower vase
I was thinking about requesting items as well, but they're fantastic character designers and I think they'd have more fun with them :D
@@devanbrowne8706 But they might not know that. Not everyone has read the five-part trilogy, read the posthumous sixth book, and listened/watched all of the radio plays, TV episodes, and movie.
There should be a soap Pokémon, and I’m surprised there isn’t one already.
Suggestion: please draw “Julia’s horrible creations but as beautiful stained glass windows”
Kleinstein means "little stone"
Einstein means "one stone"
@@ruby.the.weirdoyep, just a small stone boi
I wished someone choose Unratütox, I'd love to hear non Germans try to pronounce that.
Say it really fast three times
@@CyberchaoX it's a mix of UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and Fafnir, which is the name of a dragon or wyvern in some old German legends
@@cecilj4129
Ohh, I never knew that, makes Sense.
And why is Ef-Em called like this?
@@Pionterus eF-eM is probably an onomatopeia of FM, which are a kind of soundwaves, I think?
@@cecilj4129
Sounds reasonable, thanks!
Fun fact: The thing with evolving Slowpoke by getting a Shelder to bite its tail can be done in Pokémon Snap!
Came here to break this to Nathan if no one else did lol
Julia drew the Pokémon god of beer.
I also like to think that he is just a tiny man and not a big glass
Nathan: “Man, his shorts are real short.”
Karina: *quietly* “Good for him!”
I got the craziest idea. Draw Pokemon as their human forms. That might be the only way to get Julia to draw some form of animal Pokemon 🤣
I believe they’ve already done this. It was sometime before they left college humor i think
Suggestion: Get the Lore Librarian on to give you obscure Star Trek characters to draw!
omg yes!!!!
corpse #17
Species.
Bonus if he gives them Tellarite, Terellian, Terrelian, and Terrellian
this is great because now everyone is on the same playing field as Julia re: knowledge of the actual pokemon they are drawing
Random thing but... you guys should draw yourselves as lore librarian.
They should do it as a speed draw episode so they wont influence each other's designs
@@samwisemcclune6587 ya, I love those episodes
@@samwisemcclune6587 Yes! I was just going to comment that, too!
yeah, like for each thing they know the most about. Julia has Resident Evil and Zelda, Jacob has Dark Souls, Nathan has Pokemon, and Karina is Yugioh, Digimon, and Neopets
@@trans-ruffboi4605 yes, but we need to make sure Julia stays FAR FAR AWAY from pokemon or we all die a horrible death
Actually, Kleinstein was the name of the doctor, Julia drew Klienstein’s monster
fun fact: in germany there is a beer brand called "berliner kindl" which actually has a person/kid coming out of a beer can as a logo
26:04 I like how Nathan went for a German accent, ended up doing Russian, and then slowly abandoned the accent
Prussian maybe then 🤔
I think Klein is German for small, so I choose to believe that that's just a regular sized Stein
I'm waiting for the time that Julia finishes her drawing and everyone just forgets to say what the actual thing is and the episode ends
As a millennial American who lives in Germany and plays pokemon go every single day, this episode gives me life. Thank you. 😂
"Ghost of a Meal" is a much better way of saying "Breaking Wind"
I applaud the poetry of this comment 🤣🤣🤣
German Pokemon names are so very literal sometimes, Flunkifer is an example, because Kiefer is the jaw and Kleinstein literally means small rock
They haven't even started drawing but "JAAAA" already has me in tears
Urgl is just some kids pet frog, but the kids convinced his frog is a Pokémon. It’s like reverse Perry the Platypus
Me as a german hearing "german has some hilarious translations!": "No, german is not that hilliarious"
Then hears "urgl" as first: "uh, maybe a bit hilarious" xD
i would die if y’all did a speed draw “artists draw themselves in danganronpa”
They can get the person from the rocketsonas episode back!
@@nightlasagna9022 yes! i love her
This. This is great.
Still waiting for the rest of dangit grandpa
OH... Karina's spoiler from yesterday being, "Nein," finally makes sense.
My busted brain would have assumed that was a spoiler for a Critical Role episode and gotten VERY excited
Oh my god I FORGOT ABOUT THAT 😂
“That sleeping pig”
EXCUSE ME, Musharna is (just like Drowzee) based on the baku, which is most commonly interpreted as a TAPIR
One of these days I really want one of the Drawfee hosts to give Julia either Landorus, Tornadus or Thunderus to draw as those 3 Pokemon are literally just buff men on clouds.
Omg thatd be great
And of course, Julia would make them the most monsterlike inhuman things ever.
Urgl looks like he's about to have an existential breakdown
as a German, knowing all of these Pokemon by heart, I love your interpretations waaaay more than the original. and don't worry about your pronounciation ^^ I'm halfway through and so far it's spot on :)
German pokemon names are very smart, urgl is like the german comic sound when a character struggles to speak, and the pokemon has fishes in his throat after using "dive" (i think?)
Also, the german word for bird is Vogel, and Urgl kinda rhymes with that. It's a bird that gurgles
@@davos6129 ja, ziemlich nice
I love the fact that an American, or at least Nathan, saying 'ja' sounds a lot like he was saying 'yaaas' instead 😂
Little do they realize that Pokémon like Bibarel were almost obligatory for older Pokémon games but were seldom used in battle.
Next time you want to say sorry in german: "Entschuldigung!" or as a whole sentence "Ich bitte vielmals um Entschuldigung!"
You're welcome future german-episodes!
You know they're just gonna go enter shell ding dong
„Sorry!“ means „Sorry!“ in german. Literally.
Why did you write this comment.
"Es tut mir leid" I think is more common, "Entschuldigung" is closer in meaning to "excuse me". Though I'm only in German 2 as a high-schooler(USA), so I might be wrong.
@@christianlewis2008,your actually right but soory is more common but we just use it because it it easier to say and to use English is trendy and you actually sound smarter we do it with Manny words and it's called denglish = Deutsch so German and English
