Your story took me back to when they placed a 5 pound blessing at my house. Foster care had its ups and downs for my family but when the blessing comes it's world changing. Congratulations to you both.
I think it depends on who makes the call to you. If you get a call from your FAD Worker, than yes, there is likely another layer of approvals. Luckily in our case there wasn't.
You said, you don't know how long he'll be with you, but aren't you doing foster to adopt? It seems unfair, that they won't just give you a long term placement. I know the goal is that children could be reunited with bio-parents. However, is it possible to just want children that'll probably never be reunited with bio-parents?
Foster-to-Adopt simply means that you have a license to adopt should a foster placement become adoptable. In our case, little man is in foster care and the State has to do whatever they can to get little man reunified with family first. There are kids out there that are already on a plan for adoption, but they are typically over 3 yrs old. It's rare to be placed with an infant that already has a plan for adoption. At least through CPS.
@@tianasmith8955 ahh okay.. I would love to foster, but am afraid of situations where there might be a chance that after years, the kid would be taken from my family, 😔
@@biancafreeman6017 It definitely happens...I think it's still worth it though. U never know where else these kids might end up. At least you know they are good while they are with you.
@@tianasmith8955 thank you for sharing your journey. I hope that you and every single one of the children that come to your home live in an abundance of hope, love and all things worthy ❤️ as for me, I'm sure we will go this route as well, but when we believe we're ready to go all in ❣️

Question: when you get a placement call it doesn't have to be approved by someone else before you are chosen?
