- One of the UFO and alien encounters given the most credence happened in 1955 in the little town of Kelly, outside of Hopkinsville. Kentucky Life meets up with the daughter of a man who witnessed it and a local historian to find out what happened that night.
I could not imagine living through this. Strong family to not crack up under the pressure.
Their shotguns keep them occupied.
Never anywhere in the original account did the witnesses claim the creatures were green.
It is a colloquial use of the term. Or a commoditization of it. Like, I need to “xerox” this case file. That doesn’t mean I need to use Xerox device to make my copy. Little Green Men was apparently the most exotic & otherworldly thing the people of the 1940’s could conjure up. For these people, the missionary position was the most exotic type of sex they could imagine. To say it is “green” is just the exotic nature of the being since no known human has green skin while they are alive. There are some blue people but that’s for a whole other reason (isolated/backwoods mountain populations that had resorted to inbreeding). Aliens have been called “little green men” for like 60+ years.

They were originally described, separately, by each of the family members as being silver with a green aura.
Long limbs but legs atrophied.. they seemed to float. And another weird thing they all agreed upon. When shot.. they did fall backwards but with a rattle sound. And they always instantly got back up.
There was another alleged alien sighting in Kentucky if I'm not mistaken where the woman claimed she saw an alien in a green uniform and that kick started the "little green men" stereotype

My son was killed in this town in 2011. He was hit by a car, the accident was totally covered up by the police. Right before this video.

@@mercymercy8123 He was out with his friend, for a day of 4 wheeling in a field, the truck got stuck and he left his friend in his truck and decided to walk home about 5 miles, they had been drinking. It appears that he did everything that was right, crossing over to the opposite side of the street, and crossing over to walk down an exit. It was dark out and this was on a parkway. The driver was an elderly women, 69 as I remember. He husband was terminally ill. There was a curve, he saw the car and backed up, she slowed down as if to allow him to go. He began crossing, but the driver saw he had something in his hand. At 930 at night you do not wear your sun glasses. He continued walking but, she panicked and decide to go around him. He walked into the left front fender of her car was thrown up on the roof and dead on the scene. The lady was a big church person, who many knew. When the state police, called me they were very nice and told me to contact them if i needed any reports. When I did call, I ran into some problems first time they said the person handling the case had changed jobs, The next time the women told me, I would need to get a lawyer to get them. Excuse after excuse. A got a lawyer and they had the same problem. 18 months later, the lawyer, wrote to the state police, threatening them, if they didn't produce the reports, with court action. you only have 2 years to file a claim. The governor of the state, sent out a letter of commendation, which his girl friend got, I suppose for him walking on the right side of the road and not drinking and driving. How the governor got involved is another story. Sounded like a payoff to me. How is it that someone can kill someone with a car and not even have a scratch on there driving record. The 3 large crosses he died near, didn't save his life. I would love to have a marker put on the site, but I am in Mass. Yes I am a grieving mother, I thought at first that because he had been drinking he was the cause of the accident, but when you see the car and the damage to it, the story was right in fount of you.. I also thought it was odd that there was no accident reconstruction, when I asked I was told that the small towns have limited funds for that. My daughter and I drove all night and got to see him before he was cremated, we carried him back home with us. They had to do $ 800.00 in reconstruction on him, for us to see him. His blood was still all over the road and the broken glasses laid near it.
The same thing happened to my great grandfather New Zealand 1960s out in the country.
Early hours of the morning still dark my grandfather was awoken by lights coming thru his bedroom window, when he came too he could hear audible voices when he looked outside he seen little green men walking around,information is limited he has since passed but evidence was left by the spaceship on the ground once it flew away,grass was burnt totally gone just dirt leaft and mushrooms grew there the next day.
The mark the saucer left stayed for decades and the grass never grew back.
My father who is the most skeptical man I have ever known seen the mark years later and was convinced it was an alien spaceship,that was more shocking than the encounter itself how my dad could be convinced in a matter of minutes.
He said that he doesn't know how humans could of created it becoz it was a perfect circle with every blade of grass aligned,a Devine circle that couldn't be replicated by humans he was fully convinced of Aliens existence from there on.
I grew up in West Kentucky, not far,maybe 25 miles from Hopkinsville..This happened before I was born,1961. I never knew of it,until I was in my 30’s. However, nobody,but nobody, who lives in this area,would bring such attention to themselves and lives unless it truly happened! I’m certain of that. I too, believe the Cherokee,and Hopi, and other Native American stories and legends of these creatures...some have linked their existence on Earth ,to the cave systems! All I will say,is I’ve seen 2 things as a child in the area of Barkley Lake, and at 17,near Round Hill,Kentucky close to Mammoth Cave...And I KNOW what I saw! Thanks,EYEs to the skies!🌟🎼👽⚡️🌈☮️
Super interestingly, in Hopi legends, these creatures were described as being mischievous but kind. They would sneak around, swipe animal and objects, but, overall, always gave of the impression of being apprehensive and curious. When the Hopi faced a great famine, it is said that these creatures lead them into the cave systems and fed them their food, going as far as to starve themselves to make sure the Hopi were well-fed. I don't know if they exist or not (I'm a hard evidence type of person, but I always entertain possibilities) but I think this whole thing is super interesting and I hope to look into it myself one day.

@@Ivy-dd8bf cogita thank you for your reply I find it very interesting and curiously I have heard the same Hopi Legends or maybe I had thought they were Cherokee as well. The Cherokee came through the area where I grew up in Western Kentucky during the Trail of Tears they were forced to walk across the area there is a memorial to that in Hopkinsville Kentucky. But anyway I would like to converse with you and listen or find out whatever else you know about those local Legends of the hope these were the Cherokee. My father grew tobacco both dark and Burleigh tobacco, wood plow with a mule LOL and we would find so many artifacts of the Native Americans I have even had on that farm at 4 years old and it's 7 2 experiences of high strangeness. @@joel474 well thank you Joel I have grown up as a kid and as an adult riding mini bikes and then Enduro motorbikes to hike into hidden little and medium-sized caves in the area. I've seen and experienced High strangeness and have been all over the state of Kentucky during my lifetime born in Western Kentucky. I'll send them an email and thank you for your comment. Because of my experiences I find this fascinating. As well it's a very engaging an interesting story that I for one, have heard and on about since I was about approximately 4 years old. And if you're familiar with what happened in the fifties and Kelly Kentucky near Hopkinsville I was born approximately five to ten years after that happened less than 20 minutes drive from there I had my first and second experience of high strangeness. I grew up on a farm in Western KY, in the 60's, & one night, I distinctly remember a group of small figures with flat heads, coming in my room. I remember pulling back the covers, & getting out of bed. Next thing, I woke up on the living room couch, with my eyes wide open...like zing, I was awake. I was so scared, I knew something had happened! I went to my Mom & Dad's room to tell 'em what happened, my Dad just hollered at me to go back to bed. Could have been a dream & sleepwalk thing, but who knows.

Something this video got wrong.. Billy Ray never saw a saucer. He described it as "cigar-shaped" or if you're living in more modern times.. you could say "tic tac" shaped.
Notice the ear like flaps on the side of there heads - these are what are called Kentucky Goblins supposedly still seen and many feel they live in the vast cave and mining system that stretches all the way to Ohio.

This is pretty cool. Just recently moved to Louisville from Chattanooga TN area. Had to drive the interstate close to Hopkinsville to get to Louisville. So this is just interesting. I've got to look more into this after the quarantine is lifted.

Kentucky always seemed to have the most nicer people, than anywhere. a abundance of really good people, people there will help others, strangers. they will help. and they all been to big places. and still can't wait to get back to those towns.

This whole story was sensationalized to the point where it is hard to believe, and that's how it was designed. Nobody said anything about little green men from Mars in the original account. The truth always lays somewhere in the middle

@@steshar2975 yes there was a video of the incident that the family had was even looked at by Hollywood's best and said it was a genuine film couldn't have been done so real even showed the camera rolling on the floor with aliens coming into the home and retrieving the alien that they'd shot.

I went to College with a student from Kentucky that was a direct descendent of this family. He told a group of us about the incident back in 78. None of us had ever heard of the incident. His last name was Sutton. He was very knowledgeable about the whole event and what he told us way back then is the same thing that we are hearing now except he never said the Beings were green or the the craft was a Saucer shape.

They may have been a bit busy re-loading. And they didn't even have running water, so I don't think cameras were must-have items to Hill Folk.
Camera's weren't a common household item in the 50's. While they were available, most lower class families didn't own one. It wasn't until the next decade or so that they became more popular with consumers.
Don't believe the story, but I give this 1 more cred than most. They were a very poor family. The cops themselves bring up the fact that they doubt they would purposely shoot up there own property for wealth and fame for which they did not seek.
They did charge a fee for anyone who wanted to see where it happened. But it was done as a way to deal with trespassers. Which Yeah I get and believe. Best way to stop someone from stealing or doing something illegal is to make it convenient for them to do legally.
No running water and no phones so no camera is not a stretch.

A Commonwealth known for it’s great bourbon, yet also known especially during prohibition, for making moonshine, as well as other negatives. I’ve yet to hear of,or know of a single person, near to the social norms, or mores,of anyone near to the considered, stereotypical illiterate,possibly inbred, moonshine-swilling hillbillies’...I can be personally proud, to having met some of the Sutton’s, as they were ,and are Good, Decent, Honorable people. I can say that ,without mentioning spirituality, nor religion. Just their credibility in an area filled with high strangeness for centuries. Lol you ever drink real moonshine? The Last thing it will do,is make you frightened to call the police, claiming to be shooting at such creatures,after watching their (?Craft), land, and tell the Police, the creatures were on top of the house,,grabbed one of the men by the hair,violently!
