My horse did that yesterday and I slipped off the saddle and onto her neck! It happened twice😬 luckily we are both okay and I gave her lots of kisses after 🤩

Shetlands shouldn't be underestimated. When I was in a riding lesson, a black Shetland pony called Whisky decided to escape. He jumped onto the fence,then off interrupting a jumping lesson. The instructor told my class to take our horses out of the arena and lock the gate, Whisky jumped into our arena and ended up in a tangled heap- thankfully he was unharmed. Whisky was caught with a bucket of pony nut and 4 grooms.
@@flxssie_equestrian nope, you don’t loop it around your hand, if they run away your hand can get caught in the rope and you can get dragged and/or possibly break your hand.
