Awesome show. It sure would be nice if our hatcheries could run like the quinalt reservation does. Maybe all of our rivers wouldn't be shut down right now. They definitely do it right!

A triple in the net!! Very cool for those guys... nice guiding and nice landing all three. My buddies and I would have been so tangled that we would have been lucky to land only one.

I had the pleasure of swinging the Clearwater last winter it’s a sweet little river. Not for a newbie with the spey rod but definitely the premium Op experience.

They sure know how to manage their rivers out on the west end. It should be quite embarrassing to our state management, but it's been like this for decades. I remember visiting the Neah bay hatchery and wondering how they had so many fish.

The tribes set the standard for running hatcheries. State of Washington has no business running our hatcheries

@@curtis3653 We would be well ahead if we let them have as many fish as they wanted as long as they created opportunity for non-members. We groused about their nets for years, but it's to the point, I can't blame the nets alone anymore. So sad.

Oregon and SW Washington should really model our hatcheries like the tribes do. Its incredible what they do up there and its not rocket science. The money the state would see in return from licence sales, business and taxes would show also and our youth would be better taught for the future. The wild only guys should take note also...

erik s it isn’t as simple as you think otherwise they’d be doing it. Planting lots of fish doesn’t necessarily equate to lots of fish returning. It ain’t that simple and there is much more complexity to it than you think. For several years the salmon and cook creek hatcheries struggled to meet broodstock needs.

    • @derekhallman9770

hatchery fish compete with native runs in the rivers and the ocean - and are far less robust. hatchery fish are a detriment to a wild run. hatcheries should be treated like forestry: some rivers are set aside for sustainable hatchery programs, some rivers natural runs are maintained

LH Media almost half the price for the same item and they are in most stores near me. Sorry but I’m gonna choose the option that saves some money and buy a few more jigs lol. Weight is weight. Rubber coated steel is rubber coated steel. I’d like to run Dave’s again after liking these so much but I cant see myself spending that much just for another style of weight when there’s pencil lead and china knock offs.

Thanks for posting and providing good information. However, it is really a bad idea to feed wild animals, like fish to eagles. In California the F&W could ticket you.
The net needs to be repaired. See 14:43

I'm doubting the tribal police are going to fine them for that. The US government could try, but it would have to reconcile that in the context of whale hunting. Feeding an eagle will probably get a pass. I knew a guy that fed them off their porch. He was just asking for trouble :-)

@@anothersomebody8195 I agree that enforcing such laws is almost impossible. However, You must agree that it is not a good idea to feed wild animals for verity of reasons. Many well meaning people feel sad for the wild animals and want to feed them. Without going to a long post here, lets agree that it is not good idea.
