I'd say that you can also keep 'camera shake strength' on 'normal', since in most circumstances it won't affect your aim that much. The times it does, you're probably standing too close to a 380mm barrage. It just makes everything feel more impactful which adds to the 'fun' factor. Also the crosshair colour doesn't matter since you don't aim with it. The circle that you do aim with doesn't change colour. And lastly wanna recommend that people don't replace 'throwable' with 'quick throwable', but instead put both on the same button and change the former to 'hold' and the latter to 'tap'. This way, you can still pull out your throwable if you have to be more accurate. And one more tip from myself: As a PC player I remapped the strategem keys to the arrow keys so I can move whilst calling them in, _and on console you can do that too:_ Change the bindings from the left stick to the right stick.

It's a dirty way to turn your time-delay nades into impact nades, while you can still quick-throw by just tapping the key (no holding). And the camera shake, it's mainly for....."movie experience", it's bad when you try to aim, annoyingly so when you're in defense mission and UFO/Dropship keeps popping out while you keep missing your Recoilless Rilfe. (This is preference) Without that, I feel like my destructive actions....lacking destructive force. I left the setting at "Weak", and tbf, even on weak, the amount of screen shake is still crazy with continuous explosions (especially when a lot of dropships explode and drop down near you)
As far as frame capping and vsync, I've been watching a ton of videos testing this. For best results go in Nvidia control panel - gysnc on, vsync on, and ultra low latency on, and turn vsync off in game settings. Also if the game has it - reflex + boost enabled as it overrides ullm and works better. Lowest latency, smoothest visuals and doesn't overwork GPU
Additionally, I hear the in-game framerate limiter is buggy/choppy/unoptimized, and external framerate limiters (like with NVIDIA software) would be preferable.
*The one that widened my eyes is realizing theres a way to turn off auto climb THANK YOU 😭😭😭, the amount of times i died trying to get a Resupply for Stims but my guy decides to climb it😭😭🤣*
Auto-climb can automatically climb out of the gas hole before falling completely into it. It can prevent equipment and samples from falling in. But it can't protect against the big hole like the nuclear bomb.
@ToxicDonut you can, but you can't toggle it on and off, and it's a lot of settings you have to change, so it's not as easy to reverse once you've done it
@IDABAYAREA650I won't work how I want it to with the analog but they're assigned to my buttons now and not the directional pad, still much faster though and no stopping.
The only thing I would not change is the camera shake. I mean, this is Helldivers: the crazier and more insane the game is the more fun you are going to have - guaranteed
dont limit your frame rate to your monitor refresh rate only if you cant always reach that fps of your monitor. find a consistent frame rate you can reach then cap it there. otherwise you wont get lower latency. but if you get more than your refresh rate by all means cap your fps to your monitor. low graphics settigns or render quality if needs be. Or use frame gen
Do not match framerate to monitor refresh rate. Keep your framerate 2-3 fps below your monitor framerate, turn off v-sync and g-sync/freesync/variable refresh. Then you won't have screen tearing, and you also won't have input lag from these techs. If you match fps to screen refresh rate and your computer is able to output more than that, you will still have screen tearing. Theoretically it should not go higher than 144 fps if you limit it at that, but in reality, without going too deep into the subject, that is very difficult to achieve. Best to set these settings in your GPU driver. On Nvidia you can set your minitor refresh technology on fixed refresh, and set limit on the max fps. For AMD it will likely be somewhat similar.
Rebinding my stratagems to V and the arrow keys instead of control WASD was a game changer for me. Also, press instead of hold. Edit: I use my right hand on the arrow keys while using my left hand to maneuver my character around and move toward objectives or avoid damage while calling a stratagem.

I believe that vsync still adds input delay unless it's adaptive vsync. But vsync can provide better frame pacing so I guess it depends on which matters more to you. Personally I turn v sync off in every fast paced game, but the technology for it has come a long way and improved so I think leaving it on with a higher refresh rate monitor can also be good
@@Marku5GG V-Sync will cause input delay, because any time your framerate isn't matching your refresh rate, Vsync will cache rendered frames in a buffer, ensuring there is always a frame ready to draw as soon as the monitor calls for a new frame to display from the GPU, the higher the frame buffer setting, the more delayed the input will feel, because the game will always be displaying an image several frames behind what is currently rendered by the GPU. The problem with VSync is that if game framerate is higher than the hardware refresh rate, VSync will cap the games FPS to match the monitors refresh rate. However, this can create performance issues, beyond merely screen tearing, because the frames rendered by the GPU that exceed the buffer are simply discarded and thus wasted. Setting the games framerate limiter to match the monitors refresh rate will tell the game engine to simply not render the extra frames to possibly avoid rendering wasted frames to begin with. Conversely if the games framerate is notably lower than the hardware refresh rate, VSync will force the game framerate to be rounded down to the next interval of 15 or even 30. Thus, if your refresh rate is 60 and the game frame rate drops to 50, Vsync could cap the FPS to 45 or even 30 FPS in order to keep the monitor and GPU sync'd. This can degrade performance worse than merely having the image artifacts from an unsync'd framerate. Many monitors produced today come with a feature called "G-Sync" or "Freesync" which are forms of variable refresh rate that makes the need for V-Sync obsolete. If you have such a monitor you should turn off V-Sync and let the monitors VRR adjust the hardware refresh rate to match the framerate of the game. If your monitor doesn't have VRR, your GPU driver will likely have a setting for "Adaptive Vsync" which, when enabled, attempts to dynamically turn VSync on and off when the games FPS fluctuates above and below the monitors fixed refresh rate to help minimize the drawbacks of using VSync.
