This is one of my all time favorite floor routines. Not because of the tumbling, but because her choreography fit the music, put lots of real energy into it, and she performed to the audience. There are so many gymnasts who I doubt ever look up off the floor, let alone at the audience.
I go to Gold Medal Gymnastics in Chandler, AZ and my coaches hw for me and my teammates is to watch Amanda’s presentation in her routine. What’s amazing is that her daughter, Kennedy now has her mom’s old ‘96 floor routine!
A great gymnist. Always one of my favs. Sadly she was often overlooked. I just watched a video of top 10 bean routines and her 96 routine was not listed and that's a shame, it was spectacular! She was the backbone of the 96 team.
As a fan of the sport with moderate knowledge of the code of points from that time, I tried to count the deductions. I saw deductions for the cowboy legs on the first pass, and the two and a half twist was a little over-rotated... To get a score of 9.762 there must have been at least a couple of 9.8's (with one being dropped) Seems like a pretty fair score to me. She had nice presentation and her landings were relatively controlled. Side note I think she had a spectacular Olympic Games. She filled her role as team captain exceptionally well and did her very best every time she performed with the exception of compulsory beam where it seems like almost everybody had problems
This routine is so blatantly CGA it's kind of hilarious. (More seriously, this is one of my favorite floor routines EVER and Amanda has gone down as one of my favorite gymnasts of all time. Love her gymnastics, love her personality, and the beam routine she did just before this was actually superhuman.)

Her first pass was also one of the best Arabian doubles I ever saw. Powerful, great position, and such an amazing landing.
I loved their American pride and style!!!- Amanda, Jaycie, Kerri, and Dominique, their music and the leos. Awesome stuff.
Great performances from Amanda at the Olympics- some of her best gymnastics!
I loved watching her for years before she ever made the Olympic team. She was always one of my favorites.
Perfect performance in front of the home crowd! A great moment

I just love the musicality and rhythm of her routines; I think that’s what set her apart from the rest.
she was my fave on the magnificent 7
The 1996 team is my favorite!!! ☺
Great height in her leaps and great energy!
Amanda is my gymnastics coach!!!!!!
I never realizied Amanda did such a difficult double arabian
Back when music selection fit the gymnast
The double back dismount at the back was pretty good. :)

+simplystreeptacular I agree. Amanda along with Keri are two of my favorite gymnast ever.
simplystreeptacular well I have her phone number because she is my bff's coach and I know her daughter
Her beam routine that night should have been at least a 9.8
She was mine too :) You go to gold metal gymnastics?
Team captain!
what was the name of this floor music anyone know?
@andiesophia1
Lucky you
the last part is Breathless of jerry lee lewis
She scored a 9.762 for this. I think it might have been higher if she ended her routine with a full twisting double back or sthg more difficult
@andiesophia1 really? the legendary amanda borden is your gymnastics coach?
They don't do routine's like this anymore :-/
Throws her head back about 22 times, yes I did count
Suravi Ahsan that’s exactly what I counted lol
I got 25. Did you count the opening pose? And the ones done during the leap series?
@@onetwocue I counted 25 as well! LMFAO!
Because ms thing was selling it like her LIFE depended on it
She is the owner of the gym I go to
divertente!!
