Can’t wait to use this new stretch of road. I travel regularly from the Hokianga to south Waikato. Anything that is going to reduce travel time and makes my journey safer is a bonus. I’m loving the new Hamilton bypass now that is open. Big shout out to everyone involved in the construction of our roads. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. It’s such a pity though, that even a fraction of the money spent, couldn’t be used to upgrade our roads in the Far North; especially in the Hokianga district.
Such a fab video! I have been to New Zealand a few times and one of my most favourite things is the drive from Orewa all the way to Whangarei. When NZ opens her borders to the world again and time and money allow, I cannot wait to drive north again down the road above the Johnstones Hill tunnels. The first time I saw the landscape around Pūhoi from the top of the hill, with the folded green hills stretched out into the distance was a moment I will never forget and that is when I fell in love with New Zealand; twenty years later, that love has not diminished. Such beauty. :)
To the Guy's & girl's on the ground of this project Thank you for all your hard back breaking hour's of work on this . Can't wait to see what it looks like once ground cover has grown back. Awesome work all an respect from this concrete cutter/ shit kicker.
Okay I am lost ..... Thats Warkworth to Puhoi isn't it. The tunnel goes through to Orewa. Please tell me it bi-directional two way. It was a nice road to visit occasional but prone to massive accidents and long delays during peak hour and holidays. Hope this fixes that and the alternative route remains open.
Hi George, Ara Tūhono - Pūhoi to Warkworth is the name of the new motorway, however you are correct in that the drone video starts in Warkworth, not Pūhoi. Road users will be able to travel both north and south on the new road, and the alternate route will also remain. Hope this helps!
Hi Daniel, we use a variety of drones on the project. For videos, we use the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and previously the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The flyover videos are actually a combination of several videos carefully stitched together.
