That sound brings back memories. My dad had a 70 John Deere when I was little. We called it the “putt-putt” John Deere. He then got a 2010 and a 4020. Loved that classic 4020.
Like so many who grew up with John Deere tractors around the farm I dearly LOVE to hear the old two-cylinders go bang! Keep the technology skills alive. Who knows? We may finding ourselves needing them again!

We lived in a rented farmhouse when I as a kid in the sixties. The farmer had a tractor like this. It sounded the same. Nice memory.

I go pulling with mine, pulled 9000 pound class last year and spun out. I had 14.9-38 tires on it. Gona try some 18.4-38s this year. Hoping to make it a very competative 7500 pound puller.
That sounds like it should work! Did you overhaul yours for pulling or is it still standard?

Years ago there was a neighbor lady pulling a 60, one guy said "I thought there supposed to be only one on the tractor", she was pregnant.

Go to the nearest Deere dealer and buy a good JD muffler.She deserves it. Love your tractor, as I grew up on one.

I’m looking at a John Deere 50. Anybody know any difference between the 50 an 60 ?
Less power and weight than a 60 but still decent machines. What are you planning to do with it?
Just ride around the woods an pasture for enjoyment. Maybe pull a small trailer with firewood on it
