- Hope Hicks, Donald Trump's former White House director of communications, took the stand Friday in the former president's criminal hush money trial. The court had to take a brief break after she started crying once the defense began questioning her about her employment at the Trump Organization. CBS New York's Alice Gainer was in the courtroom during testimony.

Why was her opinion about Cohen's allowed. It's bad enough hearsay evidence of Trump's conversation with Cohen was allowed, or someones idea of why a payment was made. Nothing she said or the prosecutor implies equates to a crime anyway.

Why is it again that everyone else can talk about the trial and disparage Trump but Trump cant talk about the trial and whomever he wants. Just askin.
Juror intimidation is the reason. The gag order against Trump instructs him to not talk about the jurors, judge, prosecution team or anyone close to them.
Basically, if Trump goes out and talks about how these jurors and judge are railroading him, some people in his (proven) violent base might take action against the judge or jurors. Even the threat of harmful action against the jurors because of what Trump might say could be enough to sway a juror's stance.
So, basically, preventing juror intimidation is why Trump can't freely talk about the case.
Trump can, however, take the stand and testify for himself. He's refused to do so and falsely said that the gag order prevents him from testifying. He has a Constitutional Right to testify and the gag order doesn't prevent him from doing so. Likely Trump's attorneys are preventing him from doing so.
Lawfare used by a corrupt court system (in the blue states) to silence their political opponent who wants to cleanup this cesspool.
