This was a great video and it is good to know the details on how you did this. I remember the video when you made these beams and it is good to be reminded. I am still impressed that the Kioti could lift that log

If you only have a couple long beams to mill up, this is where an Alaskan chainsaw mill comes in handy. If there is a local dealer for your sawmill, perhaps you could see if you could rent some bed extensions for your mill. In your particular setup, that may not work as you concrete pad for the mill would accommodate extra bed extensions.
Great idea . I ben sawing for a bit an never thought about sawing a log longer than the mill could fit . I can do 24 ft on mine . Wicked impressed that lil tractor could pick that log up . Just found your page an subscribed
Good Evening Sir ( I'm sorry that I miss some of your OUTSTANDING videos but I will all catch them one of these days !!! ) 😇👌👍 OUTSTANDING INFORMATIVE VIDEO SIR 👍👌😇Cheers 🍻
Can you build a home frame from pire? Red and white? I'm looking to buy a land and the only 2 trees that are mature are white and red pine. Thanksm great videos by the way. Subscribed.
Get a $12 tachometer for the mill. My ear tells me you are running below the 3600rpm. I set mine at 3700 and keep it above 3400 under full load. I can't understand why WM doesn't provide one. Good vid bud.
@@BuildALotAcres I think I see what you mean because the log sits level on the bunks as you did it. But the log could be rolled so the cut on the other end is level.

Great work! Lots of work - but worth it. You did well lining everything up and using your machinery. That Kioti can really lift!
It sure can 👍

True. I have a friend with a 3120 Husky and Alaskan Mill. I may someday make my own extensions from 1/4” angle iron. Thanks for watching 🙏
Amazing wood splitter. You did an amazing job as well. Keep it up

No worries my friend. I completely understand. 👍
Great video Case.
Thank you sir 🙏
the Kioti was pretty impressive lifting that log. Great video Case 👍🏻, how many hours did the whole process take? Have a great one 🙋🏼♂
The two beam’s probably took me 5-6 hours maybe to mill

I’d check the Building Codes in your state. Most states require the lumber to be graded.

Why not cut all 4 sides 1st then 180 it and cut the other 4 sides?
It would have been harder to line up the parallels

@@approots I think either way would work honestly.
👍👍

Why not just do them with the chainsaw mill? Seeing all that work, I would be reaching for the alaskan for long beams it would be so much faster
I have the long extensions on the woodland mills Trust me it is much easier than your way. I can do u-p to 35 feet long
I’m sure it is much easier. Maybe some day
Like peeling a banana!!
Haha. Yes sir 👍
