Glen Rice, AC Green, Ron Harper, Robert Harry, Rick Fox, John Salley, Devean George, Brian Shaw, Derrick Fisher, Shaquille O’Neil, Kobe Bryant. Such a great team.
A lot of old players on their last leg. But the difference is that Kobe and Shaq, the 2 most important players were young. Unlike the current Lakers, the core is old also.

I hear a lot of guys tell funny stories about Kobe, but he was READY to own the moment in any game at any time or for the whole game. Even on his off nights, he didn't cheat the game because he filled the stat sheet and did all the fundamental elements with the same vigor as he would when shots are falling early & often.
I mean smits was only like their best player in the 90s. Miller was just more clutch and more brazen so he got more headlines. He had a better series than miller vs the bulls in 1998 for instance but miller had that game winner in like game 6 so...
Alexander Melnikov his first 3 championships Shaq was the man. He flopped in 04, flopped in 08. Played okay on 09 (his best or 2002) still shot 40% against mickeal Pietrus. 2010 he played good in the games they lost, and choked in game 7 got saved by his team and refs. 25/5/5 41% career finals numbers. Compare that to the all time elite greats. That’s not so good!!!

you don't deserve anything in sports. you earn it
@@bconni2 wow u must be a genius FOH 😒😒
Lakers vs. Pacers, one of the best NBA finals game back in early 2000’s R.I.P. Kobe Bryant, you truly be missed in the basketball world!, you always be Laker for life! 😣😢🏀
David Price please get over it
Chain Breaker yea u a hater
As a first-generation immigrant that grew up in LA, sports was the outlet that made me feel American. It was the avenue where it didn't matter where your parents were from or how much money they made. If you were good, people respected you. Thank you KOBE for inspiring me to be the best I can be. RIP MAMBA

The game that made kobe a legend in my book.. Im a pacer fan but this made me a kobe fan forever!!
Kobe was like the most passionate basketball player he loved the game more than anybodyelse
Absolutely ....in my opinion kobe is not the greatest ....not even close....but his deep knowledge of the game and his articulation skills were unmatched....also post retirement he regularly used to work out with young cats ...passing on his knowledge..
No he's not
@@thunderhammer593 hes top 5. How isnt that close?
This was the game KOBE became a legend!
I forgot Larry Bird coached the Pacers lol how ironic that he ran into the Lakers in the Finals lol
No cap
That isn't irony. That would be apropos at best. It would be ironic if he coached the Lakers to a title over Celtics.
@@scottb3034 That's great, but did I ask?
@@ghosa.4434 I don't give a crap if you asked or not. I corrected something that is wrong. If you are going to be a buttburt, attention-seeking whiner toward my comment to someone else you should stop wasting your time.
To use your words regarding your reply "that's great but did I ask?"
@@scottb3034 definitely ironic that he ran into/lost against the Lakers seeing how the Lakers were the only team to beat him when he was a player also. You're wrong
I remember this. I was only 10 years old. I was a huge Kobe fan. Accept when he played my bulls
Kobe was amazing
RIP KOBE 🕊🕊
We miss you kobe & gigi

Kobe has always been in our hearts. I believe it must be the childhood of many people. Thanks to the NBA
It hurts to think that we'll never see him standing on the podium in his hall of fame speech.
That Is a very narrow thought....I will miss loves encyclopedic knowledge of the game...

You're absolutely right

This game was the defining moment that I knew… that Kobe Bryant was destined for legendary status. He single handedly carried a Shaq’less Lakers team to a much needed win. And the most amazing part is: HE HAD JUST SPRAINED HIS ANKLE DAYS BEFORE… like what the actual f*ck?!?! 🤷🏽♂️🤯🤯🤯
Kobe will always be MY GOAT. Idc what anyone says💜💛🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🐍🐍🐍🐍🐐🐐🐐🐐 #mambamentality #blackmamba #kobebeanbryant
YESSSSSIR🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shaq averaged 38 points and 17 rebounds in that finals. Please stfu
Love it watching these old game brings back memories 3 how happy our house use tobe rest in peace my dad and two brothers of whom I miss along the way watching NBA games are not the same without them
36 points and 21 rebounds in a finals game? Shaq was something else lol
Rip Kobe 💛💜💛💜💛💜
1:57:37 Phil Jackson about to choke someone
ua-cam.com/video/96gmhxZUM0o/v-deo.html Funniest Stephen A Smith Clip EVER
I hear a lot of guys tell funny stories about Kobe, but he was READY to own the moment in any game at any time or for the whole game. Even on his off nights, he didn't cheat the game because he filled the stat sheet and did all the fundamental elements with the same vigor as he would when shots are falling early & often.
This started off my morning great, thanks u guys
Another great Kobe moment
First time heard of Rik Smits lol. Dude scored on prime Shaq one-on-one three times in a row.
Smits was the truth! Just goes to show you how GREAT center play was in the 90’s/00’s..
The dunking dutchman!
He was nice! 90s era you had to be tough psychological and psychical
7"4 Rik Smith ( age 33 ) vS Prime Shaq
I mean smits was only like their best player in the 90s. Miller was just more clutch and more brazen so he got more headlines. He had a better series than miller vs the bulls in 1998 for instance but miller had that game winner in like game 6 so...
It's crazy to see how little to no complaining and crying the players do after every call compared to today's game its like night and day
When watching the old day games, kind of more watchable than nowadays. The defenses and the tactics.
It's just 1 on 1 basketball
@@camblizzy2020and today’s game is a glorified 3 point contest between carries, travels and double dribbles.
This was the moment Kobe arrived. I was 12 years old and I’ll never forget this game.
Kobe was just awesome. Miss him
Kobe came in the clutch. I give him that. One rare finals moment he has in his career.
😂😂😂😂😂😂bro you're a savage, BUT IT'S THE TRUTH.
That was tough for Reggie when he missed the game winner 3.
Watching it live, they showed Phil Jackson in the huddle before the play. I remember it perfectly because it was so calm and accurate. He said, "I've seen this before against [I forget which team]. They're going to run Reggie off of two baseline screens. So let him through the first one, then make him fight through the second one and meet him at the top to defend the three." Phil gets too much "zen wisdom" credit but not enough simple basketball memory.
When you grow up watching this style of ball as a kid it always felt normal always enjoyed the half court style more with the straight man to man
That style always seems to pickup in the playoffs especially if LeBron is playing.
I became a Lakers fan in 2000 after moving to LA. Watching these games i was hooked
Best thing about this u go back in time and u happy for both teams and all players no matter who wins.. 😊
It was all for the GAME.
Honnestly, Shaq is one the best basket ball player I have ever known, he's gigantic.
The commentators are literally coaches. 😂
Amazing game RIP Kobe.
May you and Gianna rest in Heaven. 🙏
God bless.
Yeah only Doug tho who actually was a real Coach in the league.
