There was only one real year Harden was playing at an elite level with them and they got to the finals. If they had a crack those 4 years before KD left I think they would’ve got one.
Id say all 3 were not as developed at the time. And idk if harden would turn to what he is today if he stayed there sharing the ball with KD and russ coming off the bench.
@Marshone Lane true tho, but you know.. except KD, they (probably) won't be as good as they are right now if the trades didn't happen. It would be fun to see them reunite somehow, but idk bout that since all 3 of them are hitting 30s now 😅
I am sure if they stayed one more year together they would manage it. They were too young in 2012. But the next year , with all that play off experience and them getting better as well. They could have.
So beautiful watching Kobe play. He can literally pull up for a jumper at any time lightning quick. The only way to stop him is with a double team or help d and sometimes that doesn’t work. But he hurts the team when he shoots over 2 defenders even when he makes it. Okc defensive scheme is just way too good
ferry lee Agreed lol. But even though they were young they were still very accomplished and had the best raw talent on paper that 2011-2012 season. KD at the time was a 3x all star and 3x scoring champion as well as a top 5 player, Russ was one of the most explosive PG’s in the league and had made 2 all star teams and Harden was 6th man of the year that season. They just didn’t have the mental capacity and toughness yet to truly be a championship team
Thanks, NBA, for sharing this game of WESTBROOK & KOBE DUEL, this was a CLASSIC GAME. Kobe always turning up the heat. Man, I just love it, they don't play ball like that no more. It’s even crazier that the Lakers could’ve been up 3-1 in this series. They had complete control of Games 2 & 4 but just choked hard in the 4th quarter and gave their leads away.
The Lakers season was bookended by games we choked away in 2012. The Christmas day collapse against the Bulls...and then this game, tie series in sight, and they couldn't finish. This is what separated MJ from everyone else. Give him a six point lead at his peak and he's not giving it up. Haters remember that aberration against Orlando when he rushed back in '95 BECAUSE it was the only time that happened.
Gematria fashoo. @ 15:27 the commentator speaks on this game being the 219 p.o game for Kobe while at the free throw line. The clock was stopped at the 2min 19sec mark.

@Clutch7 umm bruh bad offense ? Robinson sure but the rest aren't just def like Serge or whoever was their center he left for team that won 73 games the season before and he choked against them after having 3-1 lead
crazy how these huge bigs lineups arent used anymore. with more plays or actions to get good 3pt shots, did the nba in a way get simplified compared to operating in the mid range and getting to your spot, while having 2 legit bigs waiting by the paint?
How the game is kind of crazy, the style of play now benefits KD so much, he has space on those pull ups he can work the midrange as much as he wants, and it really optimizes his skills. On the other hand most coaches aren’t running plays the benefitted Russ like these plays. A lot of his midrange shots were plays working correctly not that iso pull up he does now. Now he’s getting pulled out from that mid range and shooting threes even though his jumper seems like it was made to take these mid range shots. At the same time the spacing does allow him to us his speed and get the basket earlier.
Now a lot of these long twos should just be threes but for the mid range to become just an improved shot instead of a feasible play is kind a strange to me
This was probably the best version of Westbrook. He was extremely explosive but had a pretty good shooting touch and did a lot of off ball work.
