I hate this update and it’s on my account and I was wondering how to get rid of it 😭 I love when the photo fits my whole screen and hate that ugly line and little bleed over of the next photo 🥲 as a photographer I hope they don’t keep this and I want my old ig back lol
If the white lines are forced they will kill carousels in my opinion. Because it kills how creative you can be with your images. If I want white lines to separate the pictures I will add white lines MYSELF. I've done many seamless carousels with my own lines so if they force new lines into existing carousels mine will be completely ruined... :( Carousels are the one thing that still makes it fun for me to post pictures. I hate reels.
Just came here coz I noticed this on my post today. The strange thing is, it’s only on some of the photos. The first few are seamless, even though all images were the same size. I also see if I view it on my phone on safari there are no lines, which gives me hope it’s an issue they can fix for apps. Hope it shifts back to the way it was.
I try to post a picture carousel since a week. The function is buggy on whatever device I try it. It always only posts a single picture even though I did choose 5 pictures. I wrote a feedback to Instagram to no avail. They simple don’t care about content creators… ?
@@michaelhall859 You used a feature for an unintended purpose, this is generally referred to as a hack. If you use parts of someone else's changing system to do things they were clearly not designed for there is always a risk involved what you are doing will stop working.
From a view point of a viewer of content, I don't like the whole idea of the white lines. The whole transition thing I don't have a problem with, but I don't like or feel the need for that white line (or I sense black line if you view the app in dark mode).
Honestly? I like this change from a design standpoint. Seamless carousels that are one wide photo cut into several frames is a trend that should have died a long time ago. For individual frames placed into a carousel, this is a non-issue.
I definitely don't mind the seamless floating between frames, but the one line looks tacky in my opinion and as someone that often posts landscapes as you describe, having a white line right through the shot is a major bummer. Having the little white dot to show you're on a carousel is far less obtrusive than this - I honestly don't get the thought process behind it at all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Hate this new update! I loved the creativity with "seamless" carousels. I noticed it only on my iPhone but not on my android. I hope they will discard this stupid idea.
Never been good at reels (or any kind of video) so if IG starts supporting stills again, that would be great. I've always hated the aspect ratio. And always glad to see you post a video
Earlier today I just posted 2 landscape photographs as a carousel of 4 frames. Oh well. I guess IG clearly does not care for landscape. We'll have to start making vertical videos of landscape stills and pan side-to-side 🤔
Seemless carousels are such a outdated gimmick though you still cant enjoy the whole photo in landscape at once, it usually crops it badly on your gallery only seeing part of the first photo. I also find the white square on the top right extremely annoying now, i used to not care but its a pet peeve now
You put a 4x5 in the first so it looks good on the grid, then a joined image, then a landscape with borders... if you want to solve all those problems. But yeah, moot point now.

I'm in the exact same situation. Please, I need help to get rid of it!
Instagram seem destined to fucking kill their app
I would love for social media to actually allow us to be social 🙂😤
Na that's sounds too easy and too similar to what people actually want. 🤣

I do this all the time.... Honestly can these morons just stop screwing photographers over with idiotic changes 🤬🤬🤬
I’m glad it’s not just me that’s annoyed by this 😆
Lol what, You used a hack on someone else's developing. Why would you expect that not to break at some point?
@@85set05 how is it a hack, it's just away to post bigger landscape photos.... Wake up

Similar to how threads deals with carousels. I felt the change coming 😩

Someone far brighter than me said a ‘change is as good as a rest’. Least it for us stills makers 🙂
Wise words
Nice to see you again sir!
Thanks!
I got this update, I use dark mode and it’s sucks more when I see bright and well lit images 😭😭
I can imagine. Part of me wanders how it can be jailbreaked into doing something cool. We shall see.
Great Video

Yeah agreed, I still like the creating pano carousels but I like the way this works.

Thanks 🙏 I always appreciate your comments.
I'm sorry to be spicy but this is what happens when you hacks on other peoples systems,
Not spicy, and your original comment was totally fine. Fair point.
The thumbnail is lit 🔥
As a photographer I don't even know what what carousels is on Instagram.
The man is back.. what a ledge.

This is bitter sweet for me, I was worried this video was only about me!
