To counter your opinion (since you inspired me to actually take the jump and buy a sage green 2020 Bobber), here's a few things to add: - if you're short like I am (5 foot 6 inches), mini apes are a MUST.. otherwise it feels like you're folding yourself in a yoga position trying to reach the controls. - stock suspension is stiff, but predictable. If you have bad roads, you will definitely want an upgrade. - first thing to go is THE HEADLIGHT. Put a pathfinder LED on there from Indian; you'll thank me later. - mirrors are great and have good field of view. - this bike sounds incredible with exhaust. I love the Vance and Hines on mine, and that's coming from sportbikes. - the seat is a love or hate relationship. You can also get more than one style as well. I have the "vintage" seat because I have a Twenty series bobber and it does ok. - power is very good from about 2600 up to redline. Very smooth, very predictable. - clutch is very easy to find it's open and close points with friction zones. Throttle is very smooth and not snappy at all; I also haven't noticed any flat spots or dead zones. - very forgiving to ride, and handles very well for a cruiser style bike. - average high 40's to mid-50's MPG with mixed riding. - usb plugin is great for a stock option. I also love the hidden battery tender direct plugin that makes winter storage CAKE. - This bike gets a ton of people stopping you asking what it is. - these bikes hate the cold and require 20% throttle to start up on mornings below 50 degrees. They will start every time, though and will have no issues once they've warned up. - this bike has plenty of power, and would make a fantastic first bike or advanced bike. I own a liter bike and I love this bike just as much as that one; totally different experience while still offering tons of useable power. - the battery is a PAIN IN THE ASS to get to if you ever need to get it out. - gauge cluster is an all-in-one setup with a toggle mode for different functions. It's basic, but works well. - small fuel tank, but irrelevant since it gets decent gas mileage. - newest bikes come with Perelli tires which was a nice touch. - there are some accessories for this bike, but not a ton. To be fair, I don't feel like it needs much but that's my opinion. - insurance is stupid cheap. Mine costs me $30 a month will full coverage.
Your reviews are good, I just added that because I know others like your review and might want to know :P These bikes are great, and definitely live up to the price tag behind them. I was originally concerned at first if I made a good decision, but... that went away pretty quickly after I gave it some time to really get a feel for the bike haha.
Dave Young hey Dave. Awesome feedback. I’m 6’2 would this bike be too small for me. I’m a newbie so it would be my first bike! Thanks in advance brotha!
Bro I just bought a new 2020 Scout Bobber 20 and I'm in love with my new girl she's everything I've ever wanted in a bike and shes a MONSTER that Sagebrush Green DAMN cant wait to get off work. Keep up the good work be safe.
Right there with you! One tip - be careful on fill-ups. The gas tends to want to spill all over the damn tank from the nozzle when you're finished filling due to the angle you fill the tank. Try to tap it a few times to get the gas out of the line.
The Scout Bobber is still way more aesthetically pleasing to me than the Breakout. Both are beautiful bikes but that Bobber just does things to me. Its the only time its been full on love at first sight with a bike. I was at the Harley and Indian dealerships a few weeks ago trying some bikes out and the Bobber was the only one that made me feel like I had to have it in my life. Mostly because of the looks. The only other bike that came close for me was the Street Bob. I felt at home on that one.
Dude...I don't like cruisers. I mean, I don't dislike them, I'm just not really excited by them. That being said, I love this channel because you get me genuinely interested in the content! Still growing but I have no doubt that if you stay consistent and got another bike (even an addition to the bobber), this channel would explode. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the XSR/MT bikes from Yamaha. I've owned both of the counterparts (MT07/09) and ridden every bike similar to them. I can say with no doubt you'd like both or any in the class.
Cons? There can’t be any cons surely? It’s a beautiful bike man, Just took delivery of my scout today. It’s my 2nd one, they’re such good bikes. Buzzing, can’t wait to get some miles on it
I’ve just got the anniversary model scout, it’s stunning, I totally agree though, the stock shocks are piss poor, I’ve had the standard exhaust removed and a V&H exhaust put on. I think in stock form these are pretty good but not perfect, it gives us something to mess around with making it ‘ours’ Good foundations for a standard bike though. Anyway, keep up the good work. The bike looks amazing
I've just got a 2021 Scout Bobber Sixty and love it so far, no upgrades yet but am buying the V&H slash slip-ons. My only thing is I can't got more than 20 miles before my nuts start to hurt, gotta work on that stamina.
I'm in N.y worst roads in the US 😫 so it would destroy my spine & heard the pegs drag too with the pot holes & all the cracks in N.y streets afraid of getting caught & getting in trouble. Breakouts are Sick 🙌
Hy, thanks for your vids. How is the bike when it rains ? One of the reasons ( not the main ) I'm getting an indian scout rather than the bobber are the fenders, the Scout looks more " protective ". I have tried both ( bobber and scout ) recently and in my opinion the bobber is awesome but I rather get on a scout, the driving experience I had with the scout was very similar to my good old suzuki intruder I have. My intruder had custom shorted mudguards similar to the indian bobber ( replaced already !!!! ) and even on a light rain made me dirty. New subscriber, watching all your vids in these days. 👍
Thanks for the input - great video. I’m highly considering an Indian. I love the look of the bobber, but, I’m concerned about the power. Did you consider the Scout 60 at all? Test drive it? And, as a caveat, I’d be down for a gear video as well! Keep up the cool work.
unless you're on a tight budget or just prefer the scout over the bobber, i say go straight for the bobber. yes it has power but isn't untamable. no torque either but its just there if you need it but don't get me wrong you can still get in some trouble if you're not very careful. and thank you for the kind feedback
between the sixty and the larger scout variants (bobber/scout), you wont notice a power difference until you start getting into 4th gear (maybe 3rd depending on riding/shifting style) . - 2017 Scout Sixty owner who's ridden all scout variants.
I love the bobber. I'm thinking of getting one. But I would be the only one of my friends not riding a supermoto or naked. But heck, I'm not a fast driver anyway, so a cruiser would be perfect.
Phil_Rock [PHLPPRCK] I have the same thing. We have a riding group and we all own race bikes. But I will get the bobber one day. Who cares if they don’t got one or don’t like it. You are the one that needs to enjoy the ride. Plus I think the bobber will do just fine riding with race bikes. Unless they really start going at it hahah
Andreas_XSR indians the better bike but the resale sucks and does not hold its value well. If indian made a bigger version of the bobber exactly like it, I’d take the indian otherwise a street bob or a breakout
@@_Apeflex Ah damn! might have to go with an HD then. Really love the look of the Indian though but plan to keep my next purchase for years to come and in that regard the HD holds its value above the rest. Not test driven any of them though so should start with that and if the Indian is far superior I'd have to bite the bullet, haha. Triumph Bobber could be an option as well.
Andreas_XSR if you plan on keeping the bike (you can ride the indian for a very very long time) then indian it is but if you’re fickle minded like me, def buy something you can ride for a while and sell nearly as much as you paid for, HD. Wasn’t a big fan of triump. It was tiny and looked cheap
Sounds like to me you need to save up for a breakout. You are nowhere in need of it though. Enjoy the scout bobber, take it on some road trips, some long rides & of course you need the gear for that so start there. You haven’t had much time to ride that one bike no use in getting another already.
You will have to change that whole bike it looks good but not comfortable and you might as well just have a complete custom bike that's why I'm going Electric Wyndmoor PA

Reza Akbari if I were to start again with what I know now, prob a Harley Sportster roadster or a breakout. Any Harley soft tail or Harley product will be higher in height compared to the Indian. But in reality unless you’re 6’1 and up or just very anal like me, the height wouldn’t be that big of a deal
Have you gotten one yet? Why not the regular scout ? You on a budget, if so then the 60 is good. Go with the scout bobber. I’ve gone head to head with the iron 883 and 1200 Harley sportster, this bike leaves them in the dust. They aren’t race bikes but having that power to take off fast and get good speed fast feels great! You then want more power once you get used to the scouts powertrain. Both 883 and scout are nice.
Richie Bax haha no worries! Honestly couldn’t give you exact numbers as far as reach but like I said in the vid I’m roughly 6 feet even and the reach is pretty prefect imo not too short of a distance nor too far
