I've used ibis, procreate, and clip studio paint for a long time. The paid version of ibis is next to nothing for a great app. My ipad finally died so i miss procreate, and the mobile version of clip studio paint requires internet to use, so when i replace my tablet ill most likely use ibis. It has tons of options and works very well. I'll most likely be replacing my old ipad with an xp-pen magic tablet because ipads are insanely over prices. I already have an xp-pen 12 inch display, but I i hate having to have it connected to a computer. I miss the freedom of a tablet. You always have great reviews.
Same, but I use the alternative which is speed, if you click dynamics on the brush customisation you can make it so the quicker you are the bigger it's is or you could do that opposite and make the it so when you're quick it becomes smaller
Try messing with the bucket tool. In the lower right corner, there's the setting menu. There's an "Expansion" slider. The default is usually not enough so just increase it. I use 3.5 (I assume it's pixel?) expansion.
I've been using this app for months now and o have alot of problems using this like: i thought that they have a good brushes and everytime i draw its so hard to make a stable lines because im using my hands to draw but after watching this video it makes me appreciate how good actually this app is and it will probably help me with drawings. and you know I don't even know about that stabilization thing!
For the ads thing, this two other ways you can kinda deal with it (the ad at the top, will change to something like "want to expand your canvas? Tap here to pay") - use an ad blocker - Turn off wifi/put your device in airplane mode There's also Ibis Paint. Which is basically exactly like X, it just doesn't have ads... Because it's a paid app They also have a premium subscription service, but that also has an annual payment version, which I think is around $30 Canadaian
Does regular Ibis Paint have any difference with X? I was always under the assumption that its an old version or something and didn't wanna risk paying for it
@@Kogami hello, I don't have notifications on, so you probably already know the answer Ibis is exactly the same as, X. Sir thank you for explaining this whole stuffs because lately I can't find another app because the adobe illustrator draw was gone and I miss to draw so I found this video of yours and helps me a lot.. Godbless 🔥
The Favourite Brushes one is actually available in the custom coloumn, all you have to do is press the plus button beside the brush, and it'll automatically put it in the custom coloumn where theres a favourite option which you like, and for the non user friendly interface and all, Ibis Paint actually has a YT channel where they teach everything new that's coming onto Ibis Paint, as well as drawing tutorials and etc! So it's really easy to figure them out, when a new update is out you'll just get a notification on your device about the features in the new update.
I've been running through all the different programs around, both on desktop and my Android phone, and I'm starting to think that Ibis is the one I want to stick with, because the defaults work really well for tracing a sketch in traditional and turning it into something with polished digital ink lines and basic colors, and as a phone app, you can set it on a desk and quickly spin it around and pinch which actually makes it very fast to get your best possible lines, faster than using in-app canvas rotate or physically picking up a sheet of paper. I'm particularly a fan of the Falcon brush, which I assume is meant to be emulating the Pilot/Namiki Falcon fountain pen and its flex nib. The only downsides I really have with Ibis are total featureset(there are plenty of conveniences other apps have - I don't really need them though) and digital not being literally a traditional experience, which is not a problem with Ibis but with my love of the responsiveness, balance and friction of real pen-to-paper. But, that's *why* I want to sketch traditionally.
I used Ibispaint and now I wholefully prefer Infinite Painter. Yes you can only use 3 layers in Infinite painter but the amount of brushes you have and you have speedpaint options and stuff without ads and how smooth it is is insane. It's like a good combination of Hui-on sketch and ibispaint. I would say if you wanna go for a painterly feel Procreate and other apps might be better. I'm just glad Infinite Painter exist.
Its great as starters to get hold on transition from physical art to digital ones. But soon you'll realize its not enough, you need more sophisticated and professional ones. Clipstudio is best. Or for me second best is pro create.
I absolutely hate Procreate. Just it’s basic fill tool is a pain to use, it doesn’t have as much brushes and some of the basic things I like to do on my drawing like just adding a white outline or adding a grid just cannot be easily replicated in Procreate. It doesn’t have text tool, every time I export my time-lapse by default it looks like garbage, the only thing that I think it has that makes it slightly better than ibis paint is the ability to make larger canvas and the animation tool, aside from that it’s nothing special….clip studio paint is fine though.
hey brad, i was wondering if one day you could make a video comparing blender and opentoonz, these are the best free animation softwares i could find, and i thought you are the best person to ask since you have used both and are a professional, plz reply.
10:23 you can tap on the plus icon to save it to favorites by favorites i mean custom and you can get even more brushes other people created by pressing online and downloading the brush
Finalllyyyy. Thank you for finally making this video. I've waited for this for so long as someone who started and is still doing digital art with my fingers on an android phone (until I can get an iPad. Cuz I'm saving for it)

Great video! It's not really new but I would be curious if you ever tried Krita on a Surface Pro... on Linux. I saw that it was working and was wondering if it could be a good option. But maybe it is a bit niche.
There is an option for favourite brushes And its mostly mobile friendly hence all the extra buttons for everything like edit. The greatest downfall though is the amout of lag "water/wet" brushes cause on mobile devices like tablets and phones. Because these types of brushes are great for semi-full realisim.

4:05 I think it because of the resolution,i am usually using the A4 canvas, and always got that unpainted part near the outline
It is the only issue ibis has imo.
I just color under it.
I use 2500x1600 as canvas size
Try messing with the bucket tool. In the lower right corner, there's the setting menu. There's an "Expansion" slider. The default is usually not enough so just increase it. I use 3.5 (I assume it's pixel?) expansion.
I don't see much reviews on Firealpaca, and as someone who absolutely loves it i really want to see what others think about it
Firealpaca is basically Medibang only exception is the animation tool
I've been using this app for months now and o have alot of problems using this like: i thought that they have a good brushes and everytime i draw its so hard to make a stable lines because im using my hands to draw but after watching this video it makes me appreciate how good actually this app is and it will probably help me with drawings. and you know I don't even know about that stabilization thing!
For the ads thing, this two other ways you can kinda deal with it (the ad at the top, will change to something like "want to expand your canvas? Tap here to pay")
- use an ad blocker
- Turn off wifi/put your device in airplane mode
There's also Ibis Paint. Which is basically exactly like X, it just doesn't have ads... Because it's a paid app
They also have a premium subscription service, but that also has an annual payment version, which I think is around $30 Canadaian
Does regular Ibis Paint have any difference with X? I was always under the assumption that its an old version or something and didn't wanna risk paying for it
@@Kogami hello, I don't have notifications on, so you probably already know the answer
Ibis is exactly the same as, X. Except there's zero ads
It's updated at the same time as X, Too (I checked when both where last updated, and they both say May 25th, 2022)
Again, you probably already know the answer, I just don't have youtube notifications on
Or just download an apk more easier lmao
Yay! My primary art app got reviewed!
You can use way more than 3 layers in infinite painter, is that perhaps a free version limitation?
@@leahdavis9434 yes
You can just use the modded ver if you want more than layers (cool abilities of android💪💪)
You can export to PSD by tapping the share button when selecting the artwork.
ah yes, my fav art-tech youtuber, Brad blah blah blah. Gonna be a good vid :)
😁😁😁😁
@Brad Make a tiny change to your fave brush and save ot to Custom brushes
Love the video! Btw are you ever going to post on your other channel ‘brads art school’?
Yes... but not soon... but yes :D
@@thebradcolbow Yay! It doesnt matter that its not soon :)
hey brad, i was wondering if one day you could make a video comparing blender and opentoonz, these are the best free animation softwares i could find, and i thought you are the best person to ask since you have used both and are a professional, plz reply.
10:23 you can tap on the plus icon to save it to favorites by favorites i mean custom and you can get even more brushes other people created by pressing online and downloading the brush
Great vid. Very informative. Thank you.
Some of my favourite artists use it. On their phone, even! With their finger!! What.
please list
My sister does that
@@ConvenientlyShapedUsername okay thanks
I love ibispaint x, it's perfect for my cartoons.😊
Finalllyyyy. Thank you for finally making this video. I've waited for this for so long as someone who started and is still doing digital art with my fingers on an android phone (until I can get an iPad. Cuz I'm saving for it)
glad to see you're still giving the s8u a whirl
And you can induvidulize the btushes and with the qr code you can get brushes from otheres
Thanks Brad. This was awesome.
Try infinite painter 7. It looks really good! :)
Looks good but is a nightmare to work on due to its stability issues, although the recent update improves things crashes are still present here and there
@@Varun.krishnamv Really? I never tried it out before on android, that's why. :) Thanks for letting me know.
@@Varun.krishnamv I primarily use IP and so far, I only had one crash and that was it but on my tablet none. Ofc, not saying there aren't any potential for crashes but for the most part for me, it works pretty well. I probably would give ibis a shot but I'm very used to IP
The one thing I want in procreate is the ibisPaint bucket tool.
Procreate is just so annoying that I just go color like a coloring book that takes so long.
I’m not sure how to fix it though?
Want more videos of the Ibis Paint X! ;)
I'm just glad he finallly gave it a proper look.
i'm so sick of all the CSP and PS gangstas, when Ibis works so incredibly well
@@repeekyraidcero True That!
U can use custom option in Brush
most ppl do not know this, but the {RoG 16 GV601RM} has a active with pen pressure screen you just need an mmp 2.0 pen, you can draw this and its a 2 in one super with next gen 13th or 4th zen cpu, pcs you should look into it because its powerful enough-run unreal5 engine so you can prototype art app cc with apps like this then especially now that you can run emulation android os on pcs i heard android 13 os just came out for emu so you could use this software on an emulation and get the best of both worlds windows 11 and android os also saw some new all in one mmp 2.0 windows and android in one pens with Bluetooth , you should look into them and do a in-depth review on the all in one from a draw prospective.
you can add your fav brushes into costom brushes by pressing + so you can have them All together but I really fish they adedd something like brush folders so I could organize them
This is the only drawing app I know of that can give you decent results without a pressure sensitive pen. You can turn on some kind of automatic taper functionality, which allows you to get very nice tapered lines, even with your finger on a regular smartphone.
where do you go?
Ugghh this is the most user friendly for me atleast 😂
But its up to preferences because ibis was build for mobile with finger touch drawing before it become fully pc like app with many stylus supported.
what's your tablet?
It Samsung tab S8 Ultra
10:10 last used brushes appear in Custom section in Brushes 😉Kinda like a History for Brushes
brad pls review infinite painter
hey Brad did you see that infinite painter got a big update? do you plan to revisit it?
hmm, maybe
@@thebradcolbow they're still working out the bugs, would recommend waiting until v7.1 or higher if you decide to do it. But still an amazing app.
Hey Brad, thanks for all your amazing content!! 😊😊
You have finally convinced me to give drawing a try haha
I'm completely new to drawing altogether, and I bought a tab s8 ultra for the drawing.
Any chance you will have a new version video of the infinite painter on Android in the near future??
I found ibis paint and krita's interface a bit daunting for me
Ibis Paint X is my Favorite App
Please take a look at Light Brush web painting application.
With my Samsung Tab S8+ coming tomorrow, (partially down to your vids) I'm frantically looking for the best android drawing/painting apps. This is all rather helpful, thanks :)
Try krita
Great video! It's not really new but I would be curious if you ever tried Krita on a Surface Pro... on Linux. I saw that it was working and was wondering if it could be a good option. But maybe it is a bit niche.
if you go on custom section on brush selector it shows you the recent brushes u have used
U should check the filter later u might be amazed by how so many layer is there!
There is an option for favourite brushes
And its mostly mobile friendly hence all the extra buttons for everything like edit. The greatest downfall though is the amout of lag "water/wet" brushes cause on mobile devices like tablets and phones. Because these types of brushes are great for semi-full realisim.
IbispaintX is still the best drawing app for me. Tons of brushes, user friendly, cool features. Periodt.
Yeah brad ur right on procreate the full color always leaves a white line that’s a lighter color than the rest
Yesss
Eyy Brad
can you do a comparison of pen lag of different apps on Ipad and Samsung?
I've noticed Ibis paint lags for me a ton while Airflow lags much less, but i dont have the newest devices to compare if this has been rectified or whether the device I want has more lag on an app I prefer.
It would be hepful to know which apps have the best optimization!
Hey brad I just came back to your art channel to see if there was a how to draw hair tutorial because I need some work with drawing hairs bust did you abandon brads art school
Finaly😁😁😁😁
in brush list press + icon next to brush and say add custom.. now your brush is in the custom list. this is like your favorits
You can klic on the + and than okay thay will be showen in the midel thay are even soten from last to least usued
3:57 Agree ❤❤
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Very interesting review. Can you do a video on infinite painter?
