Eirian James was a delightful singer. This was a charming production. I think La Perichole is my favourite of the Offenbach operettas. I have appeared in many of them in french. How good to be reminded of these artists and excellent work from conductor and orchestra too.

Really very nice. I grew up with the 1956 Met english version with Cyril Ritchard as the viceroy. They did it again a few years later and it was broadcast in the 50's in the program Omnibus. I am waiting until they release it to UA-cam, it is marvelous.
So very well done -- an absolute delight!

Oh wow I remember this being on Tv some years ago. I'll enjoy this. Thank you.
I have been looking for an English version and this one is superb! I loved every minute of it.
superb production of a wonderful operetta. One of my favourite Offenbach operettas - that and La Belle Helen.
A great performance my friend Tom Lawlor. Rest in peace

Bravo Bravo Bravo!!
"Studio version" and in English reminds me of Donald Pippin's Pocket Opera. Even with English, I need the subtitles to understand much of the lyrics!
